My smoker is missing 1/2 the nuts, I bought it as an open box special at Lowe’s, can I order a new set? Or just buy something to get by and make it work?
Excellent video, Just put mine together this morning. Very disappointed with the doors to the gas and charcoal grills,, both aren't lining up and leaving gaps. Poorly put together... Gonna walk away have a drink and come up with a solution later...
I was thinking of purchasing this grill soon. Did you have any luck with the doors? I was thinking of buying the gasket for it. Just worried that if I buy it and out of the box there are issues like you had.
I was able to put this together with ease by myself. Trickiest part was getting the firebox hooked up to the smoker part of the grill because of aligning the holes and the weight. I set the firebox right on top of a shop stool and was able to raise the stool to the exact height to align the screws. After figuring that out, the rest went easy! one serious Grill.
one question.... on the right side under the side burner, attached to the grill side there is a chain with a wire and a tiny spring. Where is that supposed to go or what is it used for?
Great video. I wish the assembly crew at tractor supply would’ve watched it before they assembled mine. Now I need to disassemble and reassemble correctly. Hence coming to find this vid.
my better half got me a longhorn combo for my B-day in last september . i had been wanting to try a offset and our old gasser was dying fast . anyhow , saw this for $299 at BJ's and she got it for me . y'all did good on the instructions for assembly and everything went smooth . i'm no pit master yet , but i'm doing OK with learning how to smoke . one of the grands said a shoulder i smoked on it was the best meat she's ever put in her mouth , she's only 10 but i'll gladly take that compliment .
So... this is a fantastic video! And I used it to begin putting together my Longhorn... until I reached step 10. The Hardware Kit only comes with (20) 1/4-20 Flange Nuts, and I used them all after I installed the charcoal smokestack. I have the bolts, but no more nuts. Did I miss something??
And to elaborate, steps 3, 5, 6 and 7a all require four (4) 1/4 flange nuts, while steps 7b and 9a need two (2). That totals the twenty (20) flange nuts in the pack. Where can I get the other four needed for step ten?
@@dragonma69 I assume since this is a week ago, you figured this out but the nuts on step 10 are tack welded on the inside of the grill so you can just screw them in place.
What’s a good way to prevent rust? We get quite a bit of rain and I have cover for it, but what else can I do to protect the smoker from external rust?
i mostly use the offset side ....... but the first thing i got for it was a cover to protect it from most weather and i clean it also . i spray the entire outside with canola cooking spray and wipe over it with a paper napkin right before i fire it up to cook . i make sure i get in the bolt heads and such . i do this in the spring and late summer but others may need to do it often if they notice even a slight hint of rust due to our different locations/environments . i also clean the ashes out of the fire box the next day (or so) . i've had mine almost a year and the only rust i've found in in the bolt heads . take care and happy smoking :)
This is slightly too long for my outdoor area can I leave the side shelf off and connect the lpg straight to the gas side without using the side burner?
Is the Venturi tube and valve supposed to be loose, left and right wiggle wise? Ours is not tight and I worry about putting gas through it. Charcoal side is working great.

I came here to check on a part that is included with the grill but in the instructions or this video it does not show it going anywhere. The piece looks like a hook for grilling utensils. I also need to remove the stack and install it from the inside.

Don’t use an impact driver. I was using hand tools and was still able to snap a bolt. Maybe hand tighten everything and hold the parts in correct alignment and let your wife tighten them.
I'm missing the wire for the igniter switch...10 days to get one, and I got this grill because I'm hosting a party that I now can't cook for. Quality control is obviously dead in this country.

How do you clean the factory oil off the metal parts?

Is there meant to be two boxes of flange nuts as we have used 17 and there is only 20 left in the packet but we still need heaps more??
