  • In this video we work our NARROWBOAT floating home up the Lapworth Locks, with a few nice surprises meetings on the way! A shallow pound causes us to pause temporarily, to allow another to pass through. At one lock there’s no margin for ERROR, it doesn’t get TIGHTER than this, and calls for some clever manoeuvring …… but is Martin up to the challenge?
Julie gets a workout at the lift bridges, no need for a gym when you continuously cruise and live life afloat on the water!

If you’re new to our channel, just a little introduction. We are Julie and Martin and in 2021 we sold our house and gave up our jobs, to live full time on a narrowboat. We bought our 2004 narrowboat Rhapsody in Blue in the September and have been living full time onboard ever since. We hadn’t intended on vlogging, but recorded videos for ourselves and family and it has escalated into the weekly vlogs you see today, so lovely to have you all onboard! ❤️
Please join us as we continuously cruise the inland waterways of the UK, sharing our cruises and adventures with you all, thank you! ❤️
We’ve made a few playlists for you too, one with all our favourite cruises, one of our River Nene adventures, and the other is all our vlogs from the beginning, so you can binge watch to see where we’ve been so far! There’s also a walk through of our narrowboat home too, come inside and see how we live. ❤️

Fantastic bit of boat handling Martin, well done. What a super stretch of canal. Great to see Bears again. I wonder if they know Wes and Amy are just up the canal too. So lovely for everyone to meet up every now and again.

It’s lovely meeting up with friends unexpectedly,it’s happened a lot lately! You just never know who you’re going to meet around the next corner, it’s one of the lovely things about boating. The community is wonderful, we have so many friends now since living on the water, we love it! I think Amy & Wes keep in touch with the Bears and will probably meet up again later in the year. I’m sure we’ll meet up again properly at some point too, they are lovely! Thanks Tessa xx

Hey Guys, what a wonderful life. Meeting new people and making new friends, there always seems to be someone you know just around the bend or through the next lock. Maybe you'll moor together for a day or so or decide to travel together to the next destination or, just stop for a drink and to catch up then go your separate ways. What a life. Thanks for sharing a little part of it. Take care.

You’re exactly right Roger, it’s such a wonderful community, and even though there are over 2000 miles of waterways, we’re always meeting friends, or meeting new people all the time, you just never know who is going to be around the next corner! Glad you’re enjoying our videos, we try to keep it real and show things as they really are! Thanks Roger! xx

From one perspective (at 13:45) that boat looked so small compared to Rhapsody. In the other views it seemed more comparable. I guess I'm used to seeing boats that are different lengths but not that different in overall size. It looked like a baby boat! It's great to have a surprise meet up with friends. Enjoying the videos, the area you’re in is where I used to travel around when I was attending the company I worked for in Solihull ( whale tankers ) I used hotels in the area and travelled around at night after work searching out places to eat in or different hotels , one I stayed in on the canal was the herons nest , hotel was nice and the food good , bringing back some memories of the area thanks ,
Is polishing the boat some sort of euphemism / innuendo of the narrow boating scene 😜 , there seem to be a lot of them , keep up the good work guys and thanks again
