    میرے مطابق جو تھوڑا سی سمجھ ہے اسلام نظام کے قیام کے لیے اصول دیتا ہے ان اصولوں پر مبنی نظام قائم ہوتا ہے کیونکہ۔ہر بدلتا وقت اپنے ساتھ نیا نظام لے کراتا ہے لیکن اصول منطق کو سمجھنا ضروری ہے جیسے برصغیر میں۔مغلوں کا زوال کی وجوہات یہ کہ وہ نئی مشینی دور اور اس کے تقاضے نہیں سمجھ سکے ان کا نظام نئے دور سے پیچھے رہ گیا تھا اگر وہ جدید دور کا نظام بھی ان اصولوں کے مطابق تشکیل دے دیتے تو زوال سے نکل آتے

    دوسری بات، جس سے میرے ذہن میں سوال اٹھتا ہے وہ کہ اپ اکثر کمونزم کو لیکر تھوڑا بائس ہوجاتے ہیں ہاہاہاہاہا ۔۔۔۔! اور بہت چیزں پس پردہ ڈال لیتے ہیں جیسے اسلام سود کے خلاف، کرنسی کا ذریعہ موجود ہے، لین دین کا طریقہ کار۔۔۔ مدینہ مارکیٹ وصول اور سب سے بڑ کر وہ جدید اصول جیسے "قانون حقوق کو برقرار رکھنا، انصاف کو برقرار رکھنا اور غلطیوں کا ازالہ کرنا اور قانون ریاست اور بین ریاستی افراد کے درمیان امن عامہ، توازن، ہم آہنگی، امن کو یقینی بنانا وغیرہ شامل ہیں۔ مثال کے طور پر چوری کی تو اسلام میں باقاعدہ سزہ موجود ہے۔ اب کوئی یہ سوچے کہ یہ سزا نافذ ہوئی تو ہر گلی میں بونڈے ہاتھ والے نظر ائے گے؟ بلکل نہیں بلکہ امن اجائے گا چوری ختم ہو جائے گی، ہر بندہ چوری کرنے سے پہلے ہزار بار اپنے ہاتھوں کو دیکھے گا۔

    Great lecture! I enjoyed every moment of it. Here are couple of points I would like to make in the form of a critique: Firstly, science is Amoral. It does not make value judgements. Secondly, morality/ethics are derived from your philosophical WORLDVIEW either they are relative/ subjective or objective. We all have a sense of morality ingrained in us. Social justice in economics is based on moral and ethical values. Otherwise who cares! With scientific mode of advance production without a moral or ideological component, you will have Might is Right! And we see that in the disparity between the Global North and the Global South. I fully support science and technology in economic production and progress of society. At the same time, I support moral and ethical values which should be part and parcel of a political economy to have a fair, just, secure, and satisfied society.

      I think he is focusing on the fact that the tribal society had an economic system that suited the times..
      Current globally integrated economy is beyond the imagination of people who designed islamic system 1400 years ago.
      A capitalist society with limited application of social safety nets is optimum..

    37:10 I agree with your thesis. However, if you look at the crime and corruption rates in developed countries vs developing countries (like our own), you'll also see a correlation there. In the end, this might also have to do with technology and economics.
    I just thought it was ironic how we seem to be losing on both fronts, despite having a majority that actually believes in their "better/best moral system".

    Thankyou, very informative lecture, but then there are few questions:
    1. Economy is never away from the Finance, so how does Inflation correlate with Debt. Say I give you Rs. 200, which is worth 120 g Spinach at the time but when you return it is 100 g Spinach. But according to Islam Interest is Haram. So how can these discepencies be countered? Can Islamic economic views (which I don't consider as a full fledged model) compensate the debt and inflation without putting up interest?
    2. In the advanced means of Protein production, Is Mushroom or Algae Halal? Islam says nothing about the two but many modern Olema say Halal and Haram on it. If a country ans eating Mushroom or consuming Microalgae, then definitely they will be lagging behind in modern Biotechnological era, so how does Islamic law correspond on it. What will be the right way according to you?
    3. Petrol is extracted from ground, but if I burn it (not when necessary: say I have metro connectivity in my city, I still take my own car), this way I am running an economy by buying more of it and also wasting an exhaustible source, and polluting unnecessarily. So how do Islam as a way of life, Socialism, Capitalism and Communism correpond to this question of wastage of resources.

    Question: With intellectual property concentrated with a handful of privately owned companies, what hope is there for working class to be agent of change, take control and move towards a socialist system? Only big corporates seem to have resources to finance R&D and they own the IP of new technologies.

    I have been following you from mooro's podcast. Your lectures are very informative. I appreciate them. All our childhood we have been told that Islam or Quran is a complete code of life for people of every generations and ages which is kind of contradicting to your lecture. My questions is that if advance method of productions, more warriors, more money and power is more important than moral values or Ikhlaaqi qadrain then how Few warriors of Prophet SAW gradually conquered all Arabia and even more land without having all of those things you mentioned about?? As I read in a history in some wars Muslims had far less quantity of warriors as well as wealth as compared to enemy.

      you are trying to say that Muhammad was divine because he won some battles with numbers less than his enemies. This point that Muslims make to validate their religion is totally shit. Because History is filled wtih examples where fewer Men have dominated much larger forces. Study the examples of Franchesco Pizzaro and Harnando Cortez. They conquered vast Empires with numbers even less than your Prophet. Robert Clive defeated Nawab Siraj UD Dula, When Nawab had much much larger army. The principle of Victory in Warfare lies in the element of Surprise, having a unified command and an organized army.
      Now don't speak this shit anywhere else.
      Crusaders conquered Jerusalem from Muslims in 1st Crusade in I think 1099. They also say that Christians defeated Muslims in that battlefield because Angels were fighting with the crusader army.
      You shit people don't study anything then start rubbing your ass at every cock you can find

      All the solutions provided by both Socialist and Capitalist revolve around tech, techniques etc but those techs and techniques can also be applied with Islamic system. What we need to understand is the essence of these systems and the problems within them

      Socialism is very bad when it comes to wealth creation because those who will produce more wealth for example factory owners etc will stop doing so when they see a huge chunk of their wealth being confiscated by the state. While in Capitalism the main problem is wealth distribution. So the main thing we need to do is to create a balance between wealth distribution, wealth protection and wealth creation. So the wealth creation never stops and the wealth circulates within the economy and the state protects the wealth

    Sir, whattay lecture 👏. A few questions.
    - The debate between reason and revelation in muslim world surfaced in 12th century, Ibne Rushd, Abu ali Sina vs Ghazali. It’s never ended why? Why hasn’t history decided on it yet? Or why hasn’t the muslim world learnt it yet? Your thoughts? Any thinker who has given a thorough response to this?
    - How does democracy plays a role in the mix of modes of production, technology and ethics? Don’t you think democracy too is a product of technology?

      Have you gone through Human History ever? If not, go through it not by studying or remembering the years and events rather circumstances, social behaviours and skills etc.
      To cut it short:
      Yes, Democracy is a product of Technology? Now, your question is How?
      Don't go too far, just read and study history from 1600 to 1778. It was the time when Scientist and Rationalist fought against Religion [Church] for 178 years to pull out the impact of Religion from their lives.
      For example: Galileo who was house arrested for 10 years from 1632 to 1642 and ultimately died in prison was the first inspired, persuaded and provoked other scientist and rationalist to fight against religion.
      Further:
      1610: Dr. Bonham's Case decided that "in many cases, the common law will control Acts of Parliament".
      1619: The Virginia House of Burgesses, the first representative legislative body in the New World, is established.
      1628: During a period of renewed interest in Magna Carta,[94] the Petition of Right was passed by the Parliament of England.

      1776: Virginia Declaration of Rights is published; the American Declaration of Independence proclaims that "All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
      And in the period 1760 to 1830 the Industrial Revolution was largely confined to Britain.
      Now you can compare the years of Democracy 1776 (modern democracy) and Industrialization (1760 to onwards) are almost same.
      Very simple: In today's world you can analyze the circumstances, systems from your real life are much impacted by Technology, If I say instead, Human is utmost slave of technology these days. It won't be wrong.
      And how it has changed the whole world i.e. Hybrid Warfare have really changed the world's systems. For example: Now countries are not much interested in Wars and the the countries hires Private security companies to fight wars. For example: In Afghanistan, UK removed all his army soldiers and hired private security personnel at the amount of 200 US$ per day. Even most of the armies don't use Tanks in the wars rather Drones.

      Your first question reminds me of an incident at the Treaty of Hudaibia. (Reason:) Umar r.a. didn't like this treaty because he thought that Muslims were on the upper hand and they shouldn't make this treaty. But, (Revelation:) Abu Bakr r.a. told him that the person signing this treaty is the Messenger of ALLAH.
      Upon hearing this, Umar r.a. took the step back from his reason or logic.
      This is a classic example of what needs to be followed in Islam; reason or revelation.
      Why this debate hasn't ended? My thinking on this is that, as you mentioned Bu Ali Sina, his era was the science era possibly. Science has one big question which is "why?". They put this "why?" into Islamic revelations. Science didn't end, so did the question.

    Taimur sb, I think you should rephrase the word "economic policies of Islam" (that you used in contrast with "economic system") with "economic principles of Islam".
    Policies do change but principles do not. Principles are applicable in any era.

    Certainly with the passage of time, we learn more and more which results in technological advancement. Your point of view that by using advanced modes of production we will prosper is correct and logical because efficient utilization of resources is possible only by adoption of technology and new modes of production. When and where Islam prohibts to use new technology and efficient modes of production rather Quran repeatedly asks to ponder on the Universe. The Islamic Economic principles are applicable to every period of time / each and every era whatever the status and level of technological advancement.

      I have mentioned few Islamic Economic Principles in comments of Dr. Taimur Rehman's vedio lecture " Islamic Economic System?".
      I think it would be better if you may study Quran with translation (English / Urdu) to ascertain Islamic Economic principles.

      @@kforkarachi6651 so you just assumed that I have not studied the quran and/or I did study but was not able to understand the economic principles? No muslim country has an islamic economic system in place and that is why, it is considered completely Utopian. More like a mirage.
      Islamic system will require non muslims to pay jizya tax. Tell me one islamic scholar or sect who stands against such an unfair tax????

    Islamic economic system is based on honesty in dealing.
    Now you can take any system either sociolist or Capitalistic and do business with lslamic principles of honestly and truthfulness

      That does not make a system islamic however. Honesty is just a human trait and is a default requirement for any transactional activity to be successful, whether personal or business.

    Sir indeed you support socialism but I think if there is social democracy in our society then we may be able on the pathway of development or someones ever. Communism is actually economic democracy. We only adopt political democracy which is not possible till the adoption of social democracy. What's your opinion??

      A slave is not a slave because he works. A slave is a slave because someone owns him and everything he produces for his whole life. Including his children. A slave is a legal category.

    Legal slavery may have ended however slavery still exists in several parts of the world.
    One example is the Middle East where expatriates are slaves even the white color workers.

    I don’t think you can compare economic laws with the laws of physics such as that of gravity. Economic laws are man made and are impacted by human behavior and decisions. This is why they need a moral umbrella and must be created and evaluated within the realm of ethics.
