@@Mew246 i think you are just growing up because nothing really changed fundamentally about the game (other than chat reporting which shouldn't be an issue for you if you just play with friends)
Well, the visual identity of the game is almost completely lost, in favor of a "newer" cartoon-pixel art hybrid artstyle which many modern indie games have. Follow that up with their obsession with adding real life animals to the game that serve no purpose, making updates at a turtle's speed, microtransactions on console and phone (let's face it, no one plays bedrock on pc) and you get a game that is slowly losing it's charm. The current mojang team has seemingly no idea what they are doing with the game, adding many features that are damaging or not doing anything to the gameplay. Oh they revamped the nether and made mining actually enjoyable? The people have had the game for eight freaking years and they are just barely starting to understand the principles of the game they have been updating
That is true, but there’s another feeling that will hit hard every time you hear it from then on: nostalgia. Sure, the first time hearing something is always gonna leave you in awe, but coming to something like this years later gives you an even better feeling, and reminds you of your childhood

0:08 is my favorite. The random noises fade in from nothing, come together, form a tune that repeats over and over like a memory, and you hear the deep press of the piano keys and and tiny sparkling sounds in the back make it sound more pristine. It’s like a flashback of short highlights of your past playing out. I think the slowed version does it even better. @@leduckified1534 Ye, he works as part of a team in a game development studio called "Ivy Road". You didn't hear about em bcus they are working on unnanounced projects.
This song makes me bawl my eyes out every time I hear it. It always starts around 1:02 for me, when the piano just drops off into the void, like the song is a shadow of what it used to be. All the notes that used to be there in the first Moog City are gone. It reminds me that no matter what we will never be able to re-experience something for the first time. And then it just fades away, with the upbeat synth trying and failing to come back with some form of substance, until 1:15 when the second piano note hits; that’s what brings the tears to my eyes. It’s as if C418 understood the value nostalgia holds over us, it’s what brings us, and me, back to this song. 1:19 rolls around and sees that upbeat tune trying desperately to come back, and it focuses in before fading back out, like good memories, they lose value over time. 1:29 rolls around and another piano note hits, sealing that tune away. IT SOUNDS SO SAD. But that isn’t even what really does it for me, because then 1:42 rolls around after a drag of silence, and the main piano theme of moog city plays in downcast, slow notes that hang, and I just lose it. This song really is something special, I believe that 100%. I think over anything else, it signifies loss. The loss of innocence, the loss of a friend, the loss of all those memories, the good times where responsibility was a far away concept in our lives. That’s what I take away from this song.
We all started on different times. Some started in 2010. Some have just started. But we all have one thing in common... *The memories of our first world and learning along the way.*
I remember it was in 2010 my best friend show up whit a little paper and said me « when you gona go home put this on you search bar in internet » this is like that was just a week ago but this is 10years...
I remember in 2012-2013 my older cousin who lives away from me showed me Minecraft pocket edition and how to use the nether reactor core. In late 2013, my dad got a PS4 and Minecraft. I still have that world. Later in Christmas 2014, I woke up to see the family computer loaded up with Minecraft 1.7. I miss those days. While I still do technically have the hard drive the world was on, the computer itself broke. Really sad, as I probably had 2000+ hours on that world. Maybe later today I’ll get the PS4 out and play some old worlds.
@@Flinn-rx8tqI have been playing since I was four, so like the early early days. But this game, is… strange. We love it We get nostalgic We cry We make friends We see sad comments about people passing. We remember the simple times

all the minecraft songs make me cry, reminding me of the simple times when you came home from school and hopped on the legacy console edition. Minecraft will never, EVER, feel the same as it did back then.😔
The worst part about these memories is that they will never happen again. When dwelling on the past, don't obsess over the memories that happened, because they will screw you right over. I learnt that the hard way. Instead, take a moment to let yourself feel the nostalgia, and preserve it as a freezeframe in your lifetime. You can do this whenever you want, or need it. And acknowledge them as a moment in your life, because your life will only go forward from this moment, never back. Just try to remember that.
I remember turning on my PS3 and launching Minecraft only to hear this a few minutes later. and then I just sat there and listened to the amazing soundtrack.
Just hearing this is making me shed tears of happiness and remembering old memories. This type of stuff hits real hard. Thank you mojang for making such a great game and giving people chances to make great memories.
Honestly I wanna start a town named Moog City somewhere. Could be your typical small neighborhood where you know everyone who lives there, but since the name *is* called Moog City it’s probably just gonna be an actual city.
To me it sounds like some 1960's-style futuristic alien city. "Moog" just feels like an alien name you'd see in a children's book. Maybe that's just me, though.
To clear up confusion. Moog city 2 plays in every version. And also, pocket edition doesnt exist since 2015. It is bedrock mobile now. Mutation isn't moog city renamed. It is a totally different song
This man C418 when I was younger playing minecraft I didn’t know who you were until til I found one minecraft song name “Aria math” then I found moog city then I found this you never disappointed me when i listened to your songs because they describe my life

What a comment. This song is close to peak nostalgia for me and makes me feel everything and nothing at the same time. It's like the feeling is strong but the memories are vivid.
one thing i adore about c418's tracks are the fact that when he records the piano, you can sometimes hear him pressing the keys and pedals, and, if you listen really intently, it feels like the music is breathing. It just feels alive in a way that is unmatched by any other soundtrack.
it's the absolute worst, it's the only goddamn song that plays in this game and I'm sick of hearing it's stupid ass retarded loud notes that are anooying as fuck.
i used to have this gaming pc with a GTX 580 and Pentium 4 and i used to spend literal hours playing on that pc every day. my friends and i had this world called “the boys” and we would all get on it and play for ages. recently, i found it in an attic. dusting it off, i was able to boot it up and get my wifi running. i explored the world and my god, i’ve never cried so much from a simple game. Seeing all of the structures we built and how much fun we had really made me realize to never be ungrateful and always cherish time. But, the thing that made me cry the most, is that they haven’t been on in 7 years. Love you jonah and alex. (Edit: it wasn't a Pentium lol, it was a Core i5 Sandy Bridge)
so glad i didnt turn off the volume and got to listen to the old soundtrack.. miss those old days man... this song really takes me back to when you could pick those little texture packs like the halloween one.. loading up the game and this was playing, following you into one of those prebuilt worlds like the mansion one, if only i could remember which one it was directly... minecraft and its memories it has given us will never be forgotten.. 1:42..
Been playing minecraft for almost half my life, For some reason this is one of the ost's that really sticks. Minecraft Truly is, and always will be, the best thing that's ever happened to me.
I'm the exact same, nearly 12 years now I've played across a multitude of platforms and updates but it never seems to get old. I really do miss the old, purer version of the game - the current state is pretty good, but I really preferred the simplistic and nostalgic old days before things (in-game and in real life) got more complicated.
13 years ago I played Minecraft for the first time. Time flies by and this song reminds me of my first world and my first base. The memories fill my head now as I almost tear up listening to it. Don't let Minecraft die guys because I won't. My kids will experience the magic of it one day no matter what, I promise
Moog is actually pronounced like "mOAn," not "mOOn." The title is a reference to Bob Moog, who developed the first electronic synthesizers in the 1960s. Bob Moog is no longer with us, but his employee-owned company is still making analog synthesizers to this day. They sound great, but they ain't cheap. (Note: I finally retired and edited the cringy comment I left 6 years ago. Sorry to everyone who suffered through that teenage smartass.)
@@EmpyreanRings i dont think thats a soundfont. Halfway from the music when the piano is only heard, you hear thumps and clicks from the background. Its probably the foot pedals the musician is pressing while playing the music.
The intro of the first few seconds, the increase in tempo of the music slowly getting higher pitched. It sounds like a long forgotten, yet extremely powerful digital engine, roaring into life, quickly building up steam and momentum, never failing to crank over, for us, the players. 🥲
I always loved being able to hear this song when I get on Minecraft after a long day. All my worries and stress fly out the window as I prepare to make memories I'll hold happily for years.
I have a very bad headache now, there are literally no pills anywhere, I'm sitting here, drinking iced tea, waiting for my older brother to come back and listening to this beautiful soundtrack. It really calms down, I think it's getting a little easier.
Its been 9 years and only just now I realised that at 1:41 you can hear the pedals being pressed down on the piano, proving that its infact a real piano and not a synthethiser. Im mindblown. I always thought it was a synthethiser and not a real piano.
I played minecraft on my Slim PS3 when I was in 4th grade, best times of my life were made on that console. I find it ironic, since now, this console is just sitting there, behind my tv, waiting, and waiting for me to press the ON button one last time. The reason is stopped playing on it was really simple: in 5th grade, Fortnite was at its peak and all my friends were playing it and having fun. I was forced to buy a nintendo switch, just to play fornite with my friends. As I opened Fortnite for the first time, I saw my PS3, my nintendo 3DS and my Wii telling me to go on, and forget about them. I've had an amazing experience with Fortnite but, as I stopped playing it, I realized all the things i've left out; Mario galaxy, Minecraft, all my old nintendo 3ds games...It's really great to evolve and to mature but it's also very sad, to see yourself changing.
Bro I also had a slim PS3 I used to play Minecraft on split screen with my brother and I would always play the cat music disc and I also had GTA 5 and I would always collect like 10$ and then die and lose it all while both of my brothers had the 32-bit integer limit of money
In all the stress you have today, sometimes it's good to comeback to this classic, wind down and just enjoy this piece for 3 minutes. Instantly relaxed
God, this soundtrack will always hit me. It was the first one I heard. I started on Pocket Edition before it even had music, so I originally heard this on Xbox One Edition. It’s been years since then, so this always takes me back to the good times.
This music is designed to make special, amazing moments. Yet you never heard it playing in the menu of the game before loading your world. Did you? That’s the nature of c418. And I damn love it.

The buildup this song makes is absolutely stunning, you can practically feel yourself soaring with the music. I can almost imagine myself strapped into a rocket getting a countdown, feeling the engines roaring to life under me, then BLAST OFF! And all of a sudden I'm cutting through the atmosphere like a whetted knife, until I see the stars through the window in front of me. God I love this song so much.

Now you're 18 years old, it's 2024 and you still manage to get goosebumps everytime you hear this endless masterpiece.
Holy shit, dude. Genuinely cannot feel more surreal having just millions of people relate to the same time in the world all because of some video game songs. I think it's often overlooked that if it weren't for how the songs were produced, we would never remember them this way. Songs that came around this time in other video games didn't have this kind of feeling put into them. C418 is a special case. His music is (for lack of a better, less broad term) fascinating and timeless. I feel like his insight and wisdom and how creative he made this music is a nod to how we feel about them now. The music was built to be listened to and remembered.

1:19 rolls around and sees that upbeat tune trying desperately to come back, and it focuses in before fading back out, like good memories, they lose value over time.
1:29 rolls around and another piano note hits, sealing that tune away. IT SOUNDS SO SAD.
But that isn’t even what really does it for me, because then
1:42 rolls around after a drag of silence, and the main piano theme of moog city plays in downcast, slow notes that hang, and I just lose it. This song really is something special, I believe that 100%. I think over anything else, it signifies loss. The loss of innocence, the loss of a friend, the loss of all those memories, the good times where responsibility was a far away concept in our lives. That’s what I take away from this song.
beautiful analysis. I could’t agree more.

I started on pocket edition in 2013. I finally got a real PC account in 2014
I remember in 2012-2013 my older cousin who lives away from me showed me Minecraft pocket edition and how to use the nether reactor core. Maybe later today I’ll get the PS4 out and play some old worlds.

all the minecraft songs make me cry, reminding me of the simple times when you came home from school and hopped on the legacy console edition.
Yup.

one thing i adore about c418's tracks are the fact that when he records the piano, you can sometimes hear him pressing the keys and pedals, and, if you listen really intently, it feels like the music is breathing. It just feels alive in a way that is unmatched by any other soundtrack.

Bro I also had a slim PS3
I used to play Minecraft on split screen with my brother and I would always play the cat music disc and I also had GTA 5 and I would always collect like 10$ and then die and lose it all while both of my brothers had the 32-bit integer limit of money

I think it's often overlooked that if it weren't for how the songs were produced, we would never remember them this way.
Songs that came around this time in other video games didn't have this kind of feeling put into them. C418 is a special case.
