    LYRICS:
    Thank you for coming.
Had it been me, I don't know if I would.
    Anyway, sit!
Let's bury the bad and bring on the good.
Play with me for now. I promise
    we'll be finished soon.
    Let's both say our pieces
and you'll be gone before noon.
    Ring around a rosey,
when did you get so nosey?
    Pocket full of ash
and a teacup pull of posey.
    Don't change cups.
    That one's yours, I insist.
Have I told you how good
    blue looks on your lips?
    Take one sip.
Yes that's right, let's get along.
    Every hurt tastes bitter
if you let it steep too long.
    Just you wait,
    I have a surprise
    that'll steal away your breath.
    All I'll say is
    it's enough to
    scare you half to.... shhh.
    You can't follow the leader
    with ropes around your feet.
    You can't follow me either.
You're not as quick as me.
    (You'll never be.)
    Don't change cups.
    That one's yours, I insist.
Have I told you how good
    blue looks on your lips?
    Take one sip.
Yes, that's right, let's get along.
    Every hurt tastes bitter
if you let it steep too long.
    Forgiveness is in vogue,
but I was never one for trends.
    So long! Farewell! And I
    lived happily ever after.
    Here's the end...
    Don't change cups.
    That one's yours, I insist.
Have I told you how good
    blue looks on your lips?
    Take one sip.
Yes that's right, let's get along.
    Every hurt tastes bitter
    if you let it steep,
you let it steep too long.

Let me tell you a tale…about a little girl. The gardeners daughter. Her dress was always grass stained and she could never quite scrub the dirt from beneath her nails, and for this the other girls practiced their small cruelties, not yet pruned by the wisdom age brings, upon her. Her tears salted her tea cups, attended only by her dead eyed dolls, for many a year. But she grew, and she grew lovely, blooming truer the darkest red of roses. She caught the admiration of boys. Many of the girls begun to admire her as well, and soon their came a time when it was barely remembered that she was a dirty gardener’s daughter.
On her sixteenth birthday she invited every one of those who had once been so cruel to her. It was tea party, but the tea cups held another spice in place of tears, and the guests were not dolls at all, despite their dead eyed stare.
You see, a gardener’s daughter never forgets, and she knows of many deadly posies

This is an awesome vignette. Also, reads like a Drakengard weapon story.

@@RachelRoseMitchell thanks! I’ve always been a big fan of your music and recently have been writing a lot of flash fiction based on songs, so I might write more

This has to be the most embarrassing way to discover that your friend has spent the last several years building up an immunity to Iocane Powder.

After all, why not? Why shouldn't I make a playlist titled "Songs to poison your friends to"?

I don't know if this was intentional, but I love how much more open the singer is after their "friend" takes a drink. Like she knows she won and is celebrating.

Hmm I fear there is some kind of warning here but I'll just finish my tea before I figure it out.

This song feels like a bard assassin is putting me under a spell to hypnotize me into drinking a cup that I know is full of poison, and I just love that as an idea

Oh, this is deliciously creepy, I love it. "Have I told you how good blue looks on your lips" - this line is perfect. Also... why am I researching which toxins cause cyanosis?

I...can't like this song, because no matter how much the world screaming and the people in it screaming along with it hurts me I was only ever able to fantasize about this for brief intervals before realizing how pointless it would be to break the broken more.
