I did the same original build you have and have the same issues. $4k may be double the cost of the alternative but it's 100% worth it! I wish I had known about this company previously.
This was one of my biggest stress points in deciding what turf to put down for my sim I am creating this summer. This is a no brainer now! Simple and easy
I recently put a golf simulator in my house as I recover from third back surgery. I’ve got a great set up far better than I thought would turn out. It was surprisingly affordable as well. I also know I could have done a nice set up for much cheaper than I spent. My point simulators aren’t only for super wealthy. Price point wise tons of options. Main issue is having enough space.
I like how he does things. MSG explains to us what he is going to do and then does it. Holds our hands like a dad. I just do things without explanation and when people ask me why did you do that? I say I don't know. Works for me.
I cut out a larger area where your feet and hitting area is and placed 2 turf mats in that area so you can change each strip out when needed. The area where your feet go is going to wear down and doesn't look great over time and obviously the hitting area has to be replaced as it wears down. Other thing I have experienced is the EZ Hybrid wears down much faster than the EZ Poly.
Glad I found this in my feed. I am currently building a house that will have a golf sim room. I hadn’t given the flooring any thought, before this. This vid probably saved me a couple thousand.
Looks great Matt, nice job fitting it. I've recently fitted a sim in my garage, unfortunately nowhere near the same amount of room but I suppose that kept the costs down a bit! I'm currently hitting off a similar setup with foam puzzle mats underneath a putting turf, but I have some slightly more premium putting turf with which I'm going to make a 1' x 2' hitting mat, gluing it to the top some acrylic (perspex), and sticking low density foam strips 1" wide by 1/2" thick to the bottom of the acrylic sheet which will be in contact with the floor. I'll have to wait see if this has enough give to it when hitting balls but it should look great when finished 🤞 If not, the style of sim turf you've used might be the way to go!
Nice upgrade, definitely makes the studio look more professional, a little pricy but should be worth it in the long run, makes us all jealous that you have such a nice simulator set up, maybe one day....................
Great info as always! I live down Stockbridge, GA. I would gladly take the old turf off your hands until I can save up enough for the “best of the best of the best!”
Hey Matt, is there a reason why you went with Trackman VS. GC Quad? Seems like the latter is much more suited for indoors as it's camera based? Love your videos sir. Keep it coming!!
Another great mat is Sig Pro Softy. I've had mine for a year and the mat has worn very well. You almost cannot tell where I line up my 270 pound frame to hit!
That is not bad at all! Looking at SigPro or Fiberbuilt putting/hitting combo mats non-custom you’re still looking at $3k-$5k. Anyway we can get a hitting surface comparison to see how it plays/feels vs the more well known mats?
Looks good overall! It still looks like the hitting strip sits up from the surrounding turf though? Are you worried about wearing a hole in the turf where your feet stand/pivot?
Echoing some other comments. Enjoyed this episode. Can you give a run down of your impact screen setup? Also your thoughts on the Trackman setup with $$$ if possible.
This question isn't about the turf but...where did you get the screen mechanism that raises and lowers the screen? I have searched for months for something like that and can't find anything...
Hey Matt, How is the new sim room turf holding up? Would like to hear your thought after using for a few months. Mostly interested in the hitting surface you changed to. I am getting my info together to get a quote from simturf.
Good job Matt! I sell and install golf sims and installing the turf is my least favorite part. EZ Tee Hybrid is my favorite hitting surface. I sell those and the same turf, could've saved you a good chunk on all that but nice work! Now you just need to swap out the Trackman for a GCQuad to get more accurate indoor numbers!
The spot where you hit your irons is literally perfect already. The ball will only hover if you fat the shot. A sim is never going to be as good as grass but a setup like yours takes the pain out of your wrist. The tee problem has already been solved. Used BirTees.
I know they gave it to you for free for shouting them out but I still would of had them install it. A few months later your bad carpentry skills will start to show lol.
To think a couple of years ago you were hitting into a net in your backyard out in California and now you got this professional quality simulator and room!! Well earned and deserved Matt!! 🏌♂⛳😀

It seems the sound in the room changed! It sounds awesome!

Sim room looking awesome!
PXG uses simturf in all their studios as well!!
😮 Nice work, Matt! Far from the days of the pvc hitting bay in your backyard! 😄
Wow. So glad you upgraded I know my indoor sim the turf wears from irons very fast and they have replacement pieces

That is a clean looking sim room!!

Have always adminred your golf sim room. Been following from the early days when you were on the west coast.
Another great mat is Sig Pro Softy. I've had mine for a year and the mat has worn very well. You almost cannot tell where I line up my 270 pound frame to hit!
Doesn’t get any more top of the line than SimTurf. Best in the business!
Great Vid. I would like to know where did you purchase your golf impact screen mechanism. Are you going to update it also? Thanks
Sounds way better in that studio now! And putting drills is sure to be a thumbnail at some point now.

You should review Golf Daddy. You're very unbiased and everyone would love to know if a $99 simulator is accurate at all.
Looks good overall! It still looks like the hitting strip sits up from the surrounding turf though? Are you worried about wearing a hole in the turf where your feet stand/pivot?
I like how you got all spiffed up to test er out at the end, Great job doing that your self, looks great.
Love my Simturf Eztee hybrid strip. Th best ive used. I use a 1 by 2 inserted into my turf and could not be happier. Stays in place well.
same, i love it. I've tried others here and there and nothing compares
I've had a 5'x5' piece of the ez tee hybrid turf in my garage with foam tiles underneath for 2 years now and it looks good as new
Wow, what a great set up. My practice area is outside, but if i ever go inside, I'll look up this company.
Just an absolute dream setup!
Pretty good! EZ Tee is fantastic. Now you just need to load up GSPro and play some sim golf courses!
Very nice set up, Matt!
Great set up! Enjoy!
Five iron golf uses Simturf!!
We love how excited you get when you do stuff like this! Great video, MSG. We luv-u more! :-)
What screen and hanging rollup attachment do you use?
How do you practice flop shots etc? Stand closer to the screen??
Echoing some other comments. Enjoyed this episode. Can you give a run down of your impact screen setup? Also your thoughts on the Trackman setup with $$$ if possible.
Great job… If you put the Stimpmeter on it for putting, what would you get? Thanks
Their website states 10.5 stimp.
500k subsribers you get yourself a professinal setup !!
Matt this is off-topic but relative you have demoed the follow cart the remote cart and the E bike which one do you prefer.
Hey loved the video! What did you do with your old turf! Would love to take it off your hands… it would make my birthday!
Very good video informative
This question isn't about the turf but...where did you get the screen mechanism that raises and lowers the screen? I have searched for months for something like that and can't find anything...
Good good balls 🤙🏻
Matt ever thought of putting a net to the ceiling so you can hit high wedge shots?
Hey Matt, How is the new sim room turf holding up? Would like to hear your thought after using for a few months. Mostly interested in the hitting surface you changed to. I am getting my info together to get a quote from simturf.
You make me so envious
You have any spare launch monitors laying around?
Nice work. I hope one day I will have enough space and money for a golf room.
Looks great!
Fantasic video! Fantastic room! I will be over everyday to help you use it. See you soon!
I have the eztee hybrid strip from simturf and its awesome
Nice video neighbor:)
in the video you say 20' width. But the chart shows 16'. No?
Outstanding!
It's not good when anything meets your side piece Matt!!!🤣
What is your room height?
Just curious as to why the outside strip looks like a different color than the rest of the turf?
Hey maybe I missed it, but how tall are your ceilings?
Interesting video Matt. Hopefully one day i win the lottery 🙏
Nice job. 😍
Why don't use use birtees for the tees?
You're living the middle aged dream sir! Definitely on my "future goals" list. Enjoy the new setup! 🩳🎮
I see you’re using gspro now, at least your thumbnail was.
Ill take the old one from ya! Id put it to good use!
What is the impact screen?
What is the height of the ceiling, and what is the bare minimum for a driver? I'm 5' 10" thanks.
May I asked what kind of room that originally was? Is it a basement room or a garage?
great video!
How tall is the ceiling?
Hey, I'll take your old hitting mat! 🙂
Neatly done ✔
straighten out those flags.. gives me vertigo..! ha.. great video though. Wish i had a space that big.
How high is your ceilings?
Get K2 Tees for the sim. Best sim tees available. Don't wanna be chasing wood tees.
Great video. Wish I had your first world “problems”😂
You need to get yourself a GSPRO wireless control box. I'll even inlay your MSG logo in the print. I make BA custom products control boxes
Nice!!!

We were getting a ton of shots too high on the club face
@@MrShortGame Hope the new setup works better for you. Would you let us know if the turf is harsh on your wrist overtime?
Hi MrSG, still doesn't seem like it is 100% level and like it would impact those 20ft diagonal putts.
12:36 Saved 45cents… the cheek man. Hundreds of dollars
What about the Monster Mat review?
I did one of those and it was not good
Hey Matt you may be forgetting that in England that room is the size of most houses 😢
any chance you need another son? That room looks like a dream dude!
Can I swing by and pick up your old turf??
let’s gooo new mr short game video yeahhhhh fuck yeah america let’s gooooo
Did I see a GoodGood golf ball?
$20/sf for just the MATERIAL is outrageous.
Time to do a witb 2024
No Home Depot visit and no ER visit 🎉
I know they gave it to you for free for shouting them out but I still would of had them install it. A few months later your bad carpentry skills will start to show lol.
YOU SHOULD'VE GOT YOUR TURF FROM ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s pretty cheep compared to what I thought it would be.
I only wish I could.
Their prices have been going up every time i get on to order a new hitting strip. All this main stream attention is hurting my wallet
I’d be happy to take all your old turf off your hands!
To think a couple of years ago you were hitting into a net in your backyard out in California and now you got this professional quality simulator and room!! Well earned and deserved Matt!! 🏌♂⛳😀
"Oh Matt... you didn't have to do that for us"
