mshade14 In a way, the Misfits are kind of inspirational. Their songs are really boastful and the videos that accompany include them doing awful things, but really, the message in the lyrics is kind of empowering.
This song is so damn catchy. The rhythm of the melody is pretty tricky. One of the things I love is the synthesizer drone that gives a kick on off the beat for the melody. The line "when you made it, parade it" is genius. I think I should use it now.

The Misfits only really had "Outta My Way" and "Taking It All" while Jem had "Only The Beginning", "Twilight In Paris", "I got my eye on you", "Like a Dream"... good song after good song. Don't worry the Misfits end up unquestionably better later on and Jem has the top 2 slots of the worst songs in the show (KJem, Takin a Train...)
The best thing about re-watching the show as an adult is that the writing presents it as a very grey area: it's difficult to tell who is really the villain and who is the heroine. Yes, Jerrica is "good" but she did some things that were morally ambiguous and was as threatened by the Misfits as they were by her. Sure, the Misfits try to literally KILL Jerrica in every episode, but she is just as conniving in other ways.

One of the things I love about the Misfits is while they were corrupt, for the most part (at least, until the end of the show) they were actually fun, hilarious, talented, they had depth and (unlike the Stingers) they were actually likable (at least, in my opinion). The Misfits were fun in a Disney Villain way, and it worked perfectly for them. I love both Jem & the Holograms and the Misfits almost equally lol

That is the reason we the fans like both groups, Jem and The Holograms for shining a light on the caring part of humanity and The Misfits for always pushing on us about our selfish fantasies of victory and achievements.
