Yomari is a newari dish. Yo mean heartful. Mari means bread. Its a heart touching bread made from rice.. It help to boost immunity n good mood. Generally eaten in winter to make u r. Body warm..n healthy

Hi Ryleigh, I love your vlogs and have watched all of them. The newari foods that you have tried in this vlog are amazing and most important ones in Newari delicacies. The Yamari you have tried is really healthy options for people who are gluten free and dairy free. Yamari is made up of rice flour and traditionally molasses (chaku) is used as filling with sesame and some nuts. Another delicacy is woh and not bara, bara is made up of same batter but would be of different shape. It is made up of lentils and specially 2 lentils are used to make woh; mung dal and black lentils. It is like a pancake but savoury one. The one that you tried is mung dal which is green one. I hope we can meet one day in Australia when you are back in Sydney ❤ . Hope you have a great time in Nepal.
It was very nice of you to take a local guide ..that helps them alot. Now a days no tourists hires a local guide even when foreign currency convention to Nepal’s or India currency is so reasonable.
So sorry to see that your tour guide doesn’t have much details about the food and the culture about Nepal . Hope you find the right person to guide and explain you properly:
Hi Ryleigh, your videos are an absolute delight! Your passion and energy shine through every video, making them a joy to watch. Looking forward to more amazing content from you!
Ryleigh , glad you tried some local food but you haven’t tried a typical Newari cuisine. There are lot of Newari restaurants in Kathmandu which you should go and try it . The most famous one is Sasa in Kirtipur .They have good traditional ambience . Good luck !!
A suggestion, if you want to do the food hunt again, you should definitely visit Boudhanath stupa and try the Tibetan dishes- momo’s and thukpa(noodle soup) by tibetans taste different from others and it is best during winter.
Someone has already corrected her in comment section about newari food. So lets come to annapurna. Its hindu goddess. Anna means food purna means fulfill. Annapurna is goddess of food. Here is fun fact inside temple there is not goddess statue. An old bowl full of grain sits at the centre, representing the Goddess.
@ryleigh seems like your food experience wasn't good because of not professional food guide it is really shame of nepalese guide that they are taking u wherever is easier not the ones where you got tastier food. I would love to guide you if you want to go back Nepal again let me know i am from sydney too.

And because of those, it really feels like i am with you like LITERALLY, walking around those places. I hope you stay consistent like this ❤

Hello namaste. I am a local Newar person from Nepal. It seems you didn't have the best communicating guide for you to have a remarkable journey. Hope to see you again in Kathmandu valley for a better taste experience. Just loved to see my ethnicity and my born place
The guide should have proper knowledge before sharing it to the client i.e. local jerry is a breakfast dish not a dessert whereas jalebi is a desert, bara is made up of lentils and there is no flour in it, the sweetness in jalebi is due to the sugar syrup it is dipped in not because of the premixed sugar or sweetness in the flour itself. When you are sharing about the local culture and food you should have a good knowledge and have studied it well
Everything was "local" per Shova except herself, the guide 😂 A constructive criticism to the guide but it would have been far better experience had she been more informative or made some effort to learn history, cultures & traditions behind Newari food. Suggestion to Shova, if you dont know, ask the locals, no harm in asking what you don't know. She couldn't give much insights into the Newari foods, recommend foods & even called them with a wrong name. How could you not recommend a chaku yumm-mari and the same with mash woo and you do not eat it dry.
Hey Ryleigh, loved your VLOGS from Pakistan.🇵🇰 After watching the whole series I have just booked my tickets for 5th of Feb and ready to record the beautiful Nepal on my channel. How many days in total have you spend in Nepal?

It’s good to see your tour. I’m so hungry seeing all that from Japan. Just wanna suggest about PaniPuri, if you eat it next time, fill the Puri with herb juice like fully and when it put it in your mouth, it explodes so well and it’s so much delicious. That’s how I used to enjoy while in Nepal.
