You got the 'reverse UNO' so right! After the Beatles broke up John Lennon was kind of mean to Paul, saying that he only made, 'silly love songs'. Oops! So Paul wrote this song in response, and it was a mega hit..so in your face, Joh Lennon! 🤣
Yep! John was hyper-critical about everything Paul and Beatles things. But he really was only that way with them because they were such good friends. I’m glad they made good before he passed. Everybody around John knew was a prick but he admired Paul as a songwriter but respected him more as a friend. That’s my head-canon. You spend a couple hundred hours with somebody writing songs (art) and then they become attached to your heart. They were brothers at some point. I like to think they were brother before John was taken from us all.
They were all (but Ringo) great multi instrumentalists. The idea that the Beatles were not good musicians comes from the 1970s when musicians began to outdo each other in virtuality on their instruments and virtuosity was confused with quality. There were certainly "faster" bass players. But is it???
The crazy thing is Paul played bass in the Beatles only because no one else would. Bass is his third instrument , guitar first , piano second followed by bass then drums. Then he plays an instantly recognizable line like the one in this song. You don't have to like this song but when you hear that bass kick in you know what song it is.
The blonde was Linda, his first wife and soul mate, she died of cancer in 1997. She was one of the premier photographers of the rock scene. Also an animal lover, cookbook author, humanitarian,co founder of Wings and keyboardist. She had a daughter Heather from a previous marriage whom Paul adopted,Mary,Stella and James followed.
Love all of Paul's work with the Beatles & solo with Wings. I had so many of his records. "Silly Love Songs" is on the album "Wings At The Speed Of Sound". They had so many great songs such as "Jet", Live & Let Die", "Listen To What The Man Said", "Band On The Run", "Let 'Em In", "My Love", "Helen Wheels", "Let Me Roll It", "Junior's Farm", "Maybe I'm Amazed", "Venus & Mars/Rock Show", "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey", "Mull Of Kintyre", "With A Little Luck" etc.
Denny Laine, RIP. "Some people want to fill the world with silly love songs \ And what's wrong with that?" "Silly Love Songs" was Paul McCartney's biggest hit with Wings. It topped the charts in 1976. I heard it on the radio so often back then when I wasn't yet ten that merely reading the name can start the song playing in my head even now approaching 50 years later -- that bass line, the melody, those harmonies, the horn riffs, the disco string arrangements. Even so, new things stand out to me when I listen to it again, like the piano section towards the end, or Denny Laine's counterpoint, or Linda McCartney's voice on the "I love you" counter melodies which add a touch of bittersweetness to the song all these decades later. For a banger from Wings, check out "Junior's Farm".
Fabulous song, so melodic, lyrically witty, and musically clever with all those moving parts working together perfectly, each one interesting in itself, nothing wasted. Irresistable bass groove. There's more quality packed in here in a couple of minutes than many bands could manage in an album, and it always makes me smile.
This is such a lovely happy song. I have loved Paul since I was in second grade and saw him on Ed Sullivan. Although i love all the Beatles, IMO Paul was always the most 'human" and down to Earth. It was very nice to see this film with everyone young and having so much fun. A little poignant as three of this group have sadly passed on. First Jimmy McCullough , then Linda (the blond) McCartney, and just this month Denny Laine.RIP to all and thank you for the music.💔
Wings have so many excellent tunes that mix melody and harmony with Rock and occasional bursts of intensity and diversity, usually all in the same song. " Beware My Love", is a favorite. Along with "Let Me Roll It", "Medicine Jar", "Venus and Mars/Rock Show", "Letting Go", "Junior's Farm", "1985", and "Spirits Of Ancient Egypt"..
Oh my goodness that was sucha WoW reaction i LUV everything you were saying & yes PLEASE go down this rabbit hole i was way lil 1st time listening to him & wings so yea i just realized recently that i luvd both George Harrison & Paul McCartney waay before i fell in luv with The Beatles ha wild anyway great reaction have you listened to "Band On The Run" or "Maybe I'm Amazed" yet?
Next, you need to hit "Let Me Roll It", "Rock Show", "Let 'Em In", and "Junior's Farm" by Paul McCartney and Wings, and "Too Many People" and "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey" by Paul and Linda McCartney.
Great point about it makes them more human and they feel more like a friend as well. And there's no way all four Beatles didn't have some level of PTSD after they went through Beatlemania in the early to mid 60s. They were just blue collar kids from a blue collar port town. I bet you would really like the story of the Wings hit Junior's Farm. It's so fun. And Hi Hi Hi is a fun romp. Another Day scoots right along in a light way but it portrays a woman and her loneliness or perhaps even depression. It's incredibly compelling and it was also a hit. Once it gets into my head it's hard to get out and I really don't even want it to, it's just a great song.
Never was much of a Beatles fan other than a couple of songs but Wings made some of the best music of the 70’s. Thanks for this one Biz. I would recommend (Band on the run) as another Wings song. Awesome transitions in that one.
Do denny laines track off this album Wings at the speed of sound,. That paul gave the go ahead to do for the album. The track is titled: The Note You Never Wrote. Denny was a good song writer with The Moody Blues and Wings!
Paul's bass work is mostly overlooked. He was a great player from the Beatles on. He influenced many other bass players who went on to great careers themselves.
It sucked when the Beatles broke up, but think about all the amazing music they created after that we wouldn't have. Their legacies were already secured and kept growing.
NGL, although i feel i was meant to like John more, after the Beatles split, Paul just came up with so many great songs. And this was such a great rebuttal to John. On the other hand, "Frog Chorus"...! 😂
Paul really unleashed his bass chops on this one. Such a fine fine bass line. Nice little dig at John Lennon too.
You got the 'reverse UNO' so right! After the Beatles broke up John Lennon was kind of mean to Paul, saying that he only made, 'silly love songs'. Oops! So Paul wrote this song in response, and it was a mega hit..so in your face, Joh Lennon! 🤣

Killer bass line! ♥ this song!
RIP Denny
Paul is a highly underrated bassist. Even John agreed.🖖🏼

Don’t know if Paul was ever underrated as a bassist. How many times was he chosen as bass player of the year?

Underrated?! 😂
@@thesoundlikechameleons2082 😉
Those little kids were paul and linda's kids. Paul remained very loyal to his family all the time..on the road, in the studio...

Paul's BASS!
Those layered Melodie’s in the middle are incredible!
The 70's was a different time for sure. This song was awesome at the roller rink.
Paul showing how he is the master of writing a catchy pop song. One of my favorites. It's never gotten old.
Written in response to a John Lennon dis. Probably already mentioned a thousand times. Great song. Great YT channel!

I saw Paul and Wings in 1977! Philly Spectrum! Phenomenal concert!👍👍👍
Trap this tune between your ears of a morning, you will wear a smile all day. Love it!
Fun song I saw Paul McCarty and Wings live at the Staple Center in Los Angeles never had so much fun. They did sing this song.
I've always loved this song! Thanks Biz

I didn’t realize Denny was gone.
❤️ He was great.
Paul will agree.
Wings were gold. "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five" will get you going Biz.

RIP Denny Laine & Linda. 💙 Let Me Roll It next?
She is the blonde and she passed young I think from cancer!
An oldie but a greatie!!😊😊😊😊😊😊the Wings are awesome!!!

The bass . . . that is an exemplar.
In my head, this song isn't very interesting. But every time I hear it again, the bass line kills me. Top work.
How many interesting pop songs do you know
So true.
I grew up listening to Paul McCartney & Wings and they were outstanding!! A arsenal of hits to react to BiZ! GReat job!
Great video. One of my favorite Wings songs that doesn’t get much attention is Spin It On.
Back to the egg to me was under rated. I love that album!
Better yet...Old Siam, Sir
❤. Wings lineup at that time were....denny laine, jimmy mccullough..joe english and Linda on keyboards and backing vocals.
That scene where they pass the cop, that is so funny.
One of the GREATS!
Love Macca’s base playing on this one…
BOOM here's a love song! Exactly, lol.
I remember this song from when I was a kid playing on the radio brings back memories of a great time
I love Paul McCartney. You're right about excellent productions. Thanks for the reaction!
John Lennon said famously of The Beatles break up, "Paul can make all his silly love songs, and everyone is happy."

this is my 1st fav song..listening on a little clock radio I discovered FM radio..along with "Star Baby" by The Guess Who
Paul wrote this song in response to , John Lennon saying that Paul writes to many Silly Love songs
Oh so good from the first time I heard this song back in the mid 1970’s until right now. It makes me think of my teenage years!
Good question
And Paul plucking the Bass

Have you reacted to Paul and MJ on Say Say Say?
Paul is playing bass! His inspiration was James Jamerson of Motown’s The Funk Brothers.
Do denny laines track off this album Wings at the speed of sound,. That paul gave the go ahead to do for the album. The track is titled: The Note You Never Wrote. Denny was a good song writer with The Moody Blues and Wings!
I HAD NO IDEAAAAA YOU HADN'T DONE THIS ONE BIZ😮, LOTSAAA REACTORS HAVE DONE THIS! 😊 ENJOY THIS CLASSIC! R.I.P.☹ TO LINDA
Paul is magical. He puts a smile on your face ever time.
I was in the 5th grade when I bought this album…thank you for bringing back some awesome memories…respect…
I won't be around until after Christmas so I just wanted to wish you and you'res a Merry Christmas 🎄☃️
Merry XMas Fam, all the blessings to you and your family.
@@watchbizmatik will do my friend 👍
Try let me roll it to you. One of my favorites by Paul.
More Wings! :-)
Paul's bass work is mostly overlooked. He was a great player from the Beatles on. He influenced many other bass players who went on to great careers themselves.
My second favorite video of all time, after Michael Jackson's Thriller, is Say Say Say with Michael and Paul together.
Paul wrote this as a "fuck you" to John because after the Beatles broke up, John said "all Paul's done is write silly love songs".
From The Beatles to wings Paul McCartney, master of the baseline
Merry Christmas B.
R
Thanks man
The Wings top tune for you with plenty of Brass, is JET.
Just to give you an idea of how successful Paul & Wings (alone) was…Paul McCarthy and Wings Greatest Hits required a 2 CD set!
You got to listen to Paul and wings Letting Go
This IS NOT A LOVE SONG, it's a song about love songs!
Rest In Peace Denny Lane
How about listening to Magneto and Titanium Man by Paul McCartney! He's got so many great songs but I would like to see what you think of that one.
LIVE AND LET 5:
DiE 🫶
Melody.. had Paul been watching a lot of Only fools and horses 🐎?
Oh Paul...
And Linda!
It sucked when the Beatles broke up, but think about all the amazing music they created after that we wouldn't have. Their legacies were already secured and kept growing.

The Blonde is Linda
There's an old joke:
Q: When did Paul McCartney write silly love songs?
A: from 1963-1976
he's too clever
Now listen to Only Fools and Horses introduction music 🎶
