My comment doesnt mean i like him...it solely describes him as football player. Even if I do like him as individual, so what? Did he go to jail and paid his dues according to the laws of the land? Yes. Is he a criminal after prison? No? At least give the guy credit for getting his life together.

I don't think ppl give Mike enough credit for how mentally tough and morally straight he displayed once he got out of jail. All the headlines, hate and opposition is tough but he took full accountability and did all he could to make things right, opening a dog rehab center and getting back on the field.

I find it interesting that they involved PETA in this story when PETA itself has been found guilty of killing a multitude of animals over the years and continues to do so. Everyone deserves a second chance, everyone. Whether or not they do something positive with it is up to them, I think we can all see that Vick did that. I for one am glad to see that he was able to change his ways, humble himself and realize that it's not always about himself.

This is a really amazing story. Most people (like the Peta lady) do not understand that people CAN change. I used to think a lot of things due to the types of people I spent most of my time with. I spent a lot of time really sad. Now that they’re out of my life, I’ve come to realize things for how they really are and how they should be. For Vick, it took him getting in trouble to change and that’s okay. Peta lady needs to be happy that a person with a big voice is advocating for animal rights

The guy made a huge mistake in life and made it a mission to correct it and to this day is still doing those things to right that wrong... For the Peta lady and whoever else is still ragging on him for that one blemish on his career... I want them to take a long look at high profile people who've also done wrong and people just looked over or didn't hold it over their heads because there are multiple people that could be named that have done wrong. Anyone who can sit and say that "Oh I've never done anything wrong" that's an absolute lie... Plenty of athletes, actors/actresses, singers, and even politicians have made mistakes in their lives or during their career.

Michael Vick Is a well mannered humble young man. I witnessed many of his interactions with any fan that approached him. He took time out of his day to smile and pose for pictures with fans, at a 7-11. Thank You, Sir. You made these fans' day. A humble family man that encourages other youth to follow their dreams. He takes time for his fans.
I know his family is swelled up with pride!

Attorney here, I really do have a hard time giving second chances because I spent a few years as a prosecutor and it is so hard to see how frequent it is that you see repeat offenders but giving someone a break and seeing them change and take accountability is just so great to see. I love Mike and I'm glad he took advantage of his second chance because its true not everyone gets one and regardless of if you say he only got the second chance because of who he was doesn't matter he made the change, he owned it and that shows true character.

Your comment strikes a chord with me. I recently made a couple blunders. Won't get into them but I've done everything to exude initiative for positive change and placing the blame where it belongs, myself. I am not used to going to court so I was very surprised with the judges words and actions towards me. I asked for just one minute to put myself out there, he saw what I am doing about it now and actually said "I am your biggest cheerleader, keeping doing what you are doing" while showing considerable leniency. Your comment helps me realize why he likely was the way he was.

@@tavanium that is exactly right and I’m glad he did that for you. It’s really hard to determine who’s going to make the most of their second chance because no many do but for everyone 1 of 10 kids that does make that change is just so special to see.
When I was a prosecutor a few years back there was a kid that was in that position and the judge was lenient with him and to be honest I didn’t think this kid would make the best of his second chance but he absolutely did. He is now an intern working with the prosecutor that replaced me when I stepped down and it is just so cool to see everything I got into the courthouse.
Good for you, taking responsibility and making the change; not many do. I’m glad you’ve found the change and I wish you the very best!

He brought dog fighting to the forefront in poorer areas. Either you are: A. Racist B. A Member of PETA who never forgives C. Rich enough to never have lived near the crime filled parts of America like Vick did. D. Are too old or stuck in your ways to forgive him E. Hate the Falcons/Eagles or F. Never in your life seen a brutalized corpse before because you soft as hell.
The only reason I said A is because white people do dog fights to so just letting you know. The only reason I replied is if you got put in jail for whatever reason odds are you aren't gonna change your ways and land back in. Letting you know it could always be worse. I've seen the good and bad of the world. Parent murderers and innocent children. One thing that stays the same is if they do it once they might do it again even if they are caught. Vick changed his life around for the better.
Let me put it like this. If Vick wasn't famous he would have had no attention to this widespread crime. You only know about it probably because of Vick. You have probably never been to the places its prevalent at. The Slums, Dirty Downtown, The Boonies, and Hidden Areas. I am not going to respond after this. Yes, Michael made a big mistake but as long as you show some remorse and a willingness to change then you do deserve a second chance. As you can see no matter what a person does to redeem him/her self their are still going to be people that will continue to hold that mistake over your head. I love how his wife stood by him. A lot of women would have ran with the money and moved on. This is a wife who believed in her vows. Good luck to the Vick family.

Mike Vick was the swaggiest dude in NFL history. The speed, the rocket arm, the way he flicks it so effortlessly, (he threw lefty but did literally everything else with his right) the look (the beard and braids was on POINT) he just had it all. It’s such a shame he spent his prime in prison. I honestly think if he stays on track he ends up continuing to develop as a passer, finishes with 10,000 yards rushing and as a 58 to 64 lifetime completion percentage passer with a few rings. He’s a first ballot HOF talent. It’s a shame he made those choices.
Big props to him for turning it around. Hopefully he budgeted his Philly money well and is doing ok now. He had to get rid of all those hanger-ons.

So Vick never watched films during his days in Atlanta. That probably explains why Vick's passing numbers never got any better after his second season. Had he put in the time and actually prepared like a mature elite quarterback, Vick would have been an all-time great. He had a cannon of an arm and all the physical tools to become one. And that one season in Philly, we saw a glimpse of that.
