Great find! I love everything about the top force except for the style of the body.
@@JoevsRc I think it's as close as Tamiya got to making a real off-road 4wd Race RC. The chassis is awesome. I get it, that body and huge wing are really aggressive looking...not everyone likes it. I feel the same about the Dyna Storm... awesome chassis, but I don't love the body style.
Dream runner Eric. great vid.. planing on rere some day for the track.. Good stuff..
@@reitplace4765 It was a great find, I was shocked when no one was outbidding me. I thought maybe I was wrong, and it wasn't a vintage one. Definitely good deals to be had out there if you look hard enough. Enjoy your weekend!
Very cool find I just built the release top force a few weeks ago
Awesome video and awesome find. I have 3 originals now. My all time favorite Tamiya car. My logo and channel colors come from the Evolution.
@@rcicons4915 I know, I remember you saying it is your favorite Tamiya...that's why I'm surprised I haven't seen it out on the track yet! Good thing is we can still get parts for them if needed. If I end up running this one I'll put ReRe tires and wheels on it. No way I'm wearing down those vintage tires.
It’s a great buggy. Great project 😊
@@LukesVintageRC Definitely Luke, it should be an easy restoration too. As long as I don't find any issues when I start taking it apart! I am very excited to get started on it.
Thanks for the great content, love Tamiya.
@@TKTamiya Thanks Todd... I'm a big Tamiya fan myself, as I'm sure you can tell lol...This will be a fun Tamiya to restore. I appreciate you watching!
Nice find! I have banned myself from bidding on anything on Buyee until after the holidays! I have entirely too many projects as is! LOL!
It looks like a good cleaning and a few minor repairs and you will have yourself a very mint evolution! Hopefully the tear down does not reveal any issues but seeing as it has only been sitting around it should all be fine. Enjoy the rebuild of it!
@@AddamsPlayground Fingers crossed Addam, I'm hoping this is a cheap restoration. But you know how that goes. It will be fun tearing it down and rebuilding it since I haven't built one before. I'm trying to keep myself from piling up the projects too ..I've done a better job recently...only buying things if I see them at a bargain price...but yeah, it's hard to hold back sometimes 😂
@@eekrc The bargains is what got me so far into the hole LOL!!!
Id recommend using EXO design pressure plates.. im running max 10 on 3s and they have noy let me down for months..instead of hours with standard ones..
@@garyloades5188 Thanks Gary! I'll look into those. It looks like a capable RC, but Tamiyas always have some flaw in their design. It's our job to sort them all out I guess 😂.
Ball diffs are weak around the splines. The rear gear cover is weak around the screws. Both Front and rear shock tower mounts weak. Roll centres very high. Weight is biased to far rear for anything more grippy than loose dirt. Front diff cover weak around wishbone pivots.....other than that great car! There are solutions to all these problems but depends on what you want to do with the car.
@@-1-2-1- Great info! Thanks for the heads up. I'll be starting this project soon... hopefully I don't have any broken parts...if I decide to keep it I'll just be running it lightly in loose dirt anyway. Or maybe I'll flip it to buy myself something I would run since I'm not really into having shelf queens.
Very cool find I just built the release top force a few weeks ago
@@ronniecreason7870 The re-release is just as good...I would be happy with that one too. I can see why it was so popular. The quality of the parts, the crazy styling...it's not your typical Tamiya.
