Imagine you were not a UK native, and heard someone described as a "right Essex Girl" and not knowing the term, looked it up and it had Gemma's definiton. So next time you were dealing with a colleague, trying to say they were smart and sassy, told her she was an Essex Girl. In short, the dictionary is supposed to reflect the language as it is used, not to shape it. If a word has an insulting meaning, it needs to list that meaning.

My wife had such a fan girl moment as she had a nice little chat for most of the intermission with her (Windsor was very curious how two Yanks ended up being fans.) and was an absolute sweetheart. This was only a very short time before they went public with her dementia diagnosis.
