Hi Sass, May I make a suggestion. Next time in town pick up a couple of large construction/yard work trash bags. Their really handy for several reasons. If you stop somewhere during the day you can sit in it and keep warm. Their large enough to use as a bivey sack for your sleeping bag or quilt. Even a non permeable rain gear. Just a suggestion. BTW I think the two weeks that you took off after finishing the AT in September were really warm and dry. Old School
Pretty sure you will never meet another Alpine sheep semen collector.That is a new one on me.Walking around the ski slopes is amazing.That is a whole new world once the snow hits.A lot of great views on this trail.

Your are seeing great views. Question : bring the total weight your legs carry is it easier on your body and exhaustion level to wear your layers than carry them on your back packed??? I ask this because I’m try to decide on a 2025 AT start date mid February or mid March. I may be over thinking this & feel free to tell me do. ❤😊
First you hike solo and then you take a ride from German sheep semen collectors? What did your mom teach you about that? I bet he even had a white van too. Anyways this was a great looking day with absolutely wonderful views. I have heard it gets tougher from here but then so are you!

Those mornings seem brutal, but sure you are enjoying hiking in the cooler weather. Those were some great views. Can't wait to see more if this trail.

Castlerock Lodge is full of ants in warm season. I slept on the floor and had giant ants crawl over me all night long.
