- This was actually the first thing I filmed this month and I had no idea that we were even going to a Korean Supermarket on the day, so all the footage is a bit chaotic (sorry - will do better in the future). BUT this experience was just SO much fun and I just wanted to jam all the highlights of our shopping trip together just incase you were interested too!

I get so overwhelmed in Korean supermarkets I wanna buy everythinggg
I totally feel you on this. Omg there is just so much stuff! They're tooooo FUN !!!!
@@itslizmiu same here 😍
Yeah but it's so expensive
omg love it love it! You seriously turned 40+min footage of us all going crazy into a solid video! ahaha, loved it!
And around 3:10 you can listen pallette by IU....😍😍😍
I just want to mention that the woman was telling you the Pulmone brand of the packaged noodles with sauce has no MSG but there are other ingredients that are also MSG by go by a different name, such as yeast extract and hydrolyzed protein.
Now I’m dying to go to Hmart, my local Korean grocery store that has many other ethnic/cultural foods, spices etc. It also has a huge variety of fresh fruits and Asian vegetables. Thanks for the tips!!!
Her comment about Japanese people "stealing" deonjang is kind of rude especially considering yes deonjang and miso are similar, but miso is fermented with fungus and deonjang is fermented with bacterial cultures (brine). Similar but not the same. I also don't know any Japanese person that thinks kimchi is Japanese, everyone knows its Korean lol
This is much later but - in most Japanese cooking videos I watch, if they're using kimchi (usually the cabbage kind), they always refer to it being a Korean food. I assume the lady just has a thing against Japan because Korea & Japan have a super spotty history.
and her saying "they call it キムチ" that doesn't mean they are saying it's japanese that's just how we pronounce it...
The miso part was new to me but the kimchi bit was because about 10-15 years
ago, Japan was trying to register kimchi as Japanese food, and it had Koreans in an uproar.
YAS Liz! Timing could not be better - I am actually going to a Korean supermarket today!
This makes me beyond happy thank you xx keep up the amazing vlogs
I'm so excited to try more things from the Korean supermarket near me. I didn't know so many things were vegan friendly. Thank you for the grocery suggestions on your website.
I’m so happy! I had no idea that so much of the Korean food was accidentally vegan! I love this!!!
I love this so much! Thank you for the awesome information as it helps me decide on what to buy ♡ MORE JUSEYO!
I needdd this mom to walk with me through the korean market!
Thank you so much for this! going to make shopping so much easier
consider yourself lucky that you have supermarkets like this in Australia! :) we here in Germany only have like one small aisle for Korean products in our Asian supermarkets :(
Specialty grocery stores are so cool!
IU palate song in the background 😊😊3:12
the korean food cravings I've had all week have now skyrocketed.
Btw since noone could help in my vegan fb groups, do you or sasha know of any korean restaurants in sydney with vegan options?
loved this vid
Oh my goodness it's still very difficult to find, but I've just put a new blog up about some spots! www.itslizmiu.com/culture-bite/2019/1/31/culture-bite-korea-
WoW i wished I had seen your videos before I went to Korea 😢
I get free fern at by the mountains forest in California
Hello Liz! Sashas's mum mentions that these fish red bean waffles are vegan but I checked the ingredients in my local store, it's the same brand and the translation sticker says it contains eggs. Is she sure they are vegan, the korean ingredients do not display eggs?
the link isn't working
japanese people don't think kimchi is korean lol

Traditional Korean food is actually almost 100% vegan friendly! It makes me sad because modern culture has brought in a TON of cheese, milk, and meat (hello KBBQ, and bulgogi, and kalbi!!) and caused those things to come to the forefront of Korean cuisine
I’ve visited Seul last year. It was almost impossible to find something vegan, I had to ask chefs to cook something vegan for me.
OMG! Love all your videos I am always excited to go to asian grocery store. I would love to shop All vegan with you girls!🥰 My husband always thinks I am overexcited (lol, i am glad I am not the only one😂❤️) .
Thank you for making me discovered that frozen fish bean thingy was vegan! I was dreaming all week how on Sunday I'll go look for some and found it! Also those spicy chicken flavour noodles, but did not buy those, sounds weird~ Artificial chicken flavour, what could it be made of?
Thank you so much for this video! one of my best experiences is going to KT mart ( Korean supermarket here in Melbourne moved here for couple of years from Sydney) I bought most of the food you featured here but now I know I can add more into my list after watching this video! I grew up in Japan so Japanese vegan food now and Korean vegan food are my staples! btw that vegan chilli nori ( pink pack) well I have by thousands at home! it's has to be inside my pantry! lol Also the Vegan Kimchi at the Korean supermarket is the best! I grew up in Japan but I personally prefer Korean Kimchi and Korean nori over Japanese.
I'm looking for this shop on google maps right now
At 5:32 , the noodles say chicken flavour ?????
Sometimes things are called chicken flavour but when you check the ingredients there is no real chicken in it!
Just found your channel, love it!
Moms are the best and awesome teachers..
wait. do you speak German? because at 3:17 you're looking at the German list of ingredients! huh
I appreciate these videos so much because I hope to visit my cousin in Korea eventually, so I know what ingredients to buy that are vegan to cook and where to go out to eat! Also what to ask :) Thank you so much.
The one thing I need to look for next time I go to an asian market is either black bean paste or premade black bean noodles... it's a dish I'd really like to try! I'll see if my store has the pulmuone brand.
My local Korean grocer has frozen meats there.. it’s hard to find gluten free things...
i am so happy that there is an asian grocery store near where i live ( i am not asian but i love asian food so much) :)
This is so helpful! I love vegan Korean food and am so happy to have this resource. Thanks!!
