- Originally built for the snowy Races of the Trophée Andros, this is the All Wheel Drive, V6 2.5L powered Opel Tigra that is nowadays mostly remembered by those who played Gran Turismo 2 where this machine was one of the best Rally Cars of the game.
Here it can be seen on some rare footage caught at a special event held in Oviedo, Spain, where it was driven by Rallying Legend Markku Alen and got a 2nd Place overall only behind another Rallying great,Carlos Sainz. - Авто та транспорт
This really was one of the best cars in Gran Turismo. So amazing to see real footage of it. It looks as poised, balanced, predictable but agile as it was in the game. Its perfect.

you can find cars like this everywhere around the world being build still, in time attack or hillclimb or grassroots series. Look up "Gatebil" for example. The only stock part of this Tigra here was probably the windscreen and the lights. Else it was a tubeframe around custom (guess XTrac) drivetrain.

That's exactly why I'm here.
It's only now that I realized it was a Rally car all along. Back then, I was like "Daaamn, this little guy's fast!". So I've been using it for races and... whatever, still a fun car to use!

The Tigra Ice Race Car was the best rally car in GT2's Arcade Mode. Shame there were no snow rally courses in the game for it, and shame it wasn't in GT3 either

That is damn quick, must be quite the car to handle, such short wheelbase considering its power output, you can imagine saying to your mates you drive a Opel, then, turning up with this thing and trumping a Porsche or Audi....... It'd leave them speechless for sure
Calibra 4x4 Turbo... been a nightmare for Porsche's and Audi's back in the day. They went 250 Km/h (155 mp/h) totally stock and without any remapping.

What a great car, my friends used to make fun of me for using this Masterpiece in Gran Turismo2 (which I am waiting and asking to appear in 7) and I beat the Rally in Asphalt!!!

My first car was supposed to be Opel Tigra - I have loved its looks since like 2008 and even more after discovering it in the Gran Turismo games... Four months ago I was about to get one, but then the deal was off, and I have ended up with Mk3 Golf... do I regret this? Of course I do, I have promised to myself that this will be my first car... well, maybe second car at least? Too bad there is not much cars left in a decent condition around here...
It was (and still kinda is) my first car and... Yeah it's awesome. They are rust buckets, but it's not so bad when u consider i drove it for a little over a year and it cost me like 400$ in total.
What on earth is this event? Markku Alen vs Carlos Sainz (in Fernando Alonso's hometown, as it happens), with an Andros car on dirt and tarmac. Lovely to see and hear the real thing dancing around, though.

I don't know, but could it be the V6 from the Calibra? I really wouldn't have the slightest clue, sorry... But, regardless, what an awesome small car... Like a mix of the MG Metro 6R4 and the Ford RS200, in some weird fashion...
