700Hp Suzuki Swift Twin-Engine || "Monster" Tajima - Rare Footage !!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 лют 2019
- Before the famous Suzuki Escudo of Gran Turismo fame, Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima developed for years different and increasingly powerful versions of the Swift/Cultus in Twin Engined Spec. This is one of the very last and for the surprise of many, not racing on Pikes Peak Hillclimb. It is racing on the All Japan Dirt Trial series, year 1995. Powered by two G13B engines producing a total of approximately 700Hp and moving only 840Kg. A Full Spaceframed machine with a Central Driving position and a Legend of Hillclimb Racing at the wheel on his prime. So the best is just to enjoy this little Gem from the past...

A twin engine car working so well under these type of harsh conditions is the greatest testament to Suzuki’s engineering capability
This was also in Gran Turismo 2, but no-one remembers it because the Escudo was so OP.
James McHenry that red monster lol
Although this vid´s putting our GT2 wallkissing runs to shame x)
James McHenry this was the series 1 Cultus. The Series 2 Cultus is what is in Gran Turismo 2. Monster Tajima donated his Series 2 Cultus if you’ve ever been to the Penrose Heritage Museum in Colorado Springs. :)
Gold GT momeries,we want see red Escudo!
This car is not the Cultus that appeared alongside the Escudo on Pikes Peak. This is an even older version that preceeded both those cars ;)
The in car makes me feel bad for the driver😲 now I know what the marble in the paint can feels like.
If you have more old footage like this, PLEASE upload them!!!
This video made me apreciate the technology of modern suspension systems
840kg and 700hp?that's insanity!love it though...
Not 350ps is
2013 record Sebastian Loeb T16 Peugeot has 870 hp and 870kg 1:1 weght ratio
in a suzuki swift. a super compact car whose "gti" version was a 1.3 that made a bit above 100bhp and was already moving quite happily. Stick 2 souped up engines and ridiculous wings, you get this masterpiece
@@BAYBOSSMAN they drive even more dangerous roads than in pikes peak in rally all the time, and they can't memorize the track and drive by notes, also they never stop rally because of a bad weather. Rally is more sketchy and dangerous than a pikes peak
the whole reason one of my dream cars is a 1990 Suzuki Swift GTi MKii series 1, is because of tajima. im just lucky enough to have owned one for the past 4 years, i love my baby. this footage was awesome thanks for sharing dude, much love from australia.
I'd like to trade my Vitz RS for one of these high-revving little monsters.
Old is GOLD!!! Please upload more vids on older years of pikes peak 😘😘😘
Thanks doesn’t even come close to the appreciation for something as rare as this, it’s absolutely great that this wasn’t lost to so many enthusiasts 🙏🏼❤️🍺
Glad to see these clips being enjoyed this much. And hoping the next Classic bits of footage we post gets the same reception ;)
Old school racing was so raw back then.
Very agreed!
IT'S FUCKING RAW!
Scadieee it’s just the camera g
Blanco I don’t think you understand what I mean
indeed.old school racing has been a helluva raw back in these times.
first the *Group B*
and then
*That thing on this video*
H-gate gear change though...! There's a couple of points where he grabs the wrong gear: but considering how much he's bouncing about in there, maybe not a surprise. He's still an utter legend though.
Id rather watch him miss shift than watch someone bang through sequential gears for sure!
@@Tanner731 There is that, but it shows us too, the 'why' of sequential boxes. But there's a rawness, a fight to this that you don't see now.
@@creepingjesus5106 thats what a lot of motorsports are missing these days
Every real race car has a widow maker vibe. This is one of those cases.
@@BAYBOSSMAN Well,if someone decided to build one of Skylines, then maybe that could've happened-definetely not with R35 GTR,which is too heavy.
@@BAYBOSSMAN If someone went to build either of Skylines with real budget, then that would change.
@@BAYBOSSMAN Maybe Faggioli upgrades and solves problems with his Norma and who knows-if weather conditions get right,we might see VW's record beaten.
Twin engine gtr
Father of all Suzuki hillclimb monsters...
Wow that's awesome car to see in this video and can we ever see more rare videos of crazy hillclimb racers in the future.
We are now negotiating a lot of of Classic Hillclimb footage and arrange the permissions to post it, so expect to see more Classic Monsters appearing on the Channel 😉
OMG you are going to add more old school hillclimbers that sweet man just in time for coming season for you get a lot more subscribers in the future.
I still remember this name.. Monster Tajima .. and the driving is awesome...
1:50 NANI!?! Stando powaa??
That’s awesome, thanks for the great upload
Congrats on 80k!!!
It looked so violent being in that car, I'm surprised he didn't get knocked out from all that shakes in the car LOL
Thanks for uploading this awesome footage. Wish I could understand japanese
No need,one car,2 engines,700Hp:)
Spectacular, thank you!
Nice one for uploading. 👍🏻
Thats good stuff. Thx for sharing
This car looks like be brought by star wars, with that skirt or what it is in his front, like and formula 1 rally car! Awesome video! ✌️😎
Many many thanks for share with us!!! Appreciate! Love this old school footage
Incredible car. It sounds very good!
Man, this was insane, Deja vu, litterally!! 💓
岩手にダートラを見に行ったら、モンスター田島のツインエンジンカルタスも来ていて異次元の走りをしていた。
音も凄まじくてファンになってしまった。
This must be the most powerful rally car that exists!
Wow Awsome trip back in time I remember the first time I even seen this car in a magazine. I actually met monster & had a beer with him at Cadrona year's ago he's such a nice guy super cool dude & he really like's Steinlager
Fantastic!
I got one of those. It's only got one engine and no wings, it's a Swift! A GT no less.
Me too
Ayyy center mounted controls
I like how Suzuki is capable of cars like these but they won't produce a sport version of it. If they ever released a sport version of a swift or escudo I will definitely buy it.
I would rather have this pocket monster than any new car on the road...
Nah..you cant handle this beast:)
@@joe125ful not to mention the insurance
I'd be dead in a few days in one of these tbh.
@@joe125ful
Probably not; the most power I ever had under my right foot was 350 rwhp. Has never been as afraid as I was then lol!
But hey... One can dream ;)
@@adrianwelgemoed9562
Insurance for one of these, here in Sweden, would be almost impossible to afford as a 22 year old. I could barely afford paying the insurance on a damn Audi 80 haha.
Amazing
THat vibration inside the car................................................................................................
Omg!!! that was violent!!! I enjoyed that... Suppose that motor would bolt right up to my 1988 Suzuki Samurai, hard top, I am trying to shave time off of my pizza deliver job... Lol
Beast 😎, hill climb monsters have you got any footage of very old Irish rallys
Cultus pikes peak, different version that appeared in gran turismo 2
The escudo was a vitara 👀
little monster :D
OK, these were the funniest auto translate english subtitles I've seen possibly ever. It seemed to sometimes translate the engine noise from japanese to english (makes me wonder how you say "goo" in japanese). I agree with one thing though, that was music.
Such an Underrated car
ohhhhh.the baby brother to the vitara cool
This driver is a hero. How he handle 700hp monster on the gravel?
There is reason he is called "monster tajima"
You ain't seen nothin' yet,.....
1,800 hp Suzuki escudo Pike's Peak trim.
You need to show the Suzuki Escudo on Hillclimbing Monsters. That would be awesome. And also the Porsche 959 Talley car..
Oww dear that brings back memories that front wing 🤣
lemme think..
*Gran Turismo 2 h u h ?*
He's a monster! all I can say is he needs better harnesses. Unbelievable driver
Tajima FTW
this car is WOW
The Legend😘
Pré- Escudo.
Legend
wow looks rough as guts... driver has good control
Thats one fast Geo Matro
How do you power one gearbox with two engines?
Mi idolo tajima
Why no dirt tires and rally suspension?
Daamn
Savage !!!
monster driver aswell!
wow that's swift
questo è un bel video, cazzo.
ダートラだから前後エンジンを繋げてない、前後で独立した駆動系って凄い割り切りのマシン。
この勢いのままパイクスピーク・ヒルクライムに挑んだだよな。
If I'm not wrong he was the first to put a two engine syncronise to a car to run properly,in the past different people try it but with no success.
Japanese Bullet..!
👍👍
Damn, that suspension looks very low and hard for that track.
I need this car. Again. + 1 g13b in the trunk 😅
Amazing and scary machine, bounces around a lot too, maybe the suspension is too stiff? Suzuki used to make some cool racing cars...
💎
Why did they run on such a stiff suspension settings on gravel
Because the down force is crazy man, crazy.
that front wing tho
looks like a really fast jcb digger lol
Gran Turismo 2!! Ufff
Marko Korša this is a swift, not featured in gran turismo 2.
@@cvtt3194 jes jes, cultus, escudo, whatafakingtajimamonster ever.
the suspensions seems a bit too stiff for the road, idk. More direct to drive but gives the driver a lot more work. And damm he knows how to drive
and Was Faster Than The Rest Of The JDM Cars Suzuki The Best!!!
Needs a snow plough at the front like the Audi sport quattro s1 .
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Keren
Full send
It souds like a bit GsxR man crazy
It's really weird watching these videos and noticing just how far we've come with these cars. Everything looks so primitive and botched together on that compared to the current SX4 hill climb car.
the track looks so unforgiving
It was the era that Suzuki was trying to beat European group B monsters in Pikes Peak hill climb. They tried really hard but a poor 450 hp peugeot 405 t16 ´fed them salami’. It was after some years that they evolved the 1000hp escudo that they could break Peugeot’s record. Suzuki is a nice company but Motorsport wise European rally teams are far more advanced .
3:45 he shifted into 5th instead of 3rd lol
my dad drove a Geo Metro in the 90s, so
Nice! The engines were turbocharged or supercharged?
Looks like tubo by the sound and exhaust
Turbocharged G13b engines ;)
@@HillClimbMonsters I dont know if it applies 4 each from 89 and on but these the G16 with G13B heads. And depending the year they made even 400hp each
@@Tom_pr yes, that is entirely correct for the Pikes Peak spec cars. And it is possible that is the case on this car too, but we really don´t have the full information and you have to take into account this is a different car to those that competed in PPIHC. With what we can see here, the only thing we can be sure is that the head is from a G13B. Being this said, there´s a good chance your guess is correct, we are just trying to play it safe on our guesses ;)
Headlights were OP back then just sayin
Suzuki swift GTI all the way
How do you get this rare footage?
Secrecy is the soul of the business as some say 😉
was this pre hans device?
The HANS device existed at the time but this was still almost 10 years before they started to see widespread use in some racing formats.
If any one knows where G828XPM is? let me know..
Hasdac who is that
Is that front spoiler?
Front wing
これスイフト?is this Swift???
見た目が変態
走りは暴力的良い
Suzuki Swiftly
I guess this is the "Sport" model...
looks more like a snow plough
0:45 Master Tajima says 350ps.
Without persuring peak power, inportance to traction.
Swift? No!!
That's Cultus!!
