Or the Leopard 1. Literally the only thing saving it is its HEATFS. Even that is null as you face tanks with Composite Armor and ERA with Stabs and Darts equipped.
You try to snipe them 1Km away, your HEATFS eats therr Fuel tank or gets stopped by an ERA brick or the other layer of armor inside, it looks back at you, fires a dart not having to stop and you die.
Rinse and repeat till you reach next rank.

You ever notice a trend with US tanks? How suddenly everything goes so much smoother when they get to use they ACTUAL shell, and not start off with LITERAL PRACTIVE AMMO.
ive had games in american tanks where ive literally just unlocked aphe from the last battle and then got over 7 kills in it
i could not kill any IS tank from the front unlocked heat everything Russian gets one shotted don't have to aim also T10 stuff like that

US APCR is built different
this is prob a meme but i'll bite, that shell has over 300mm of penetration while driver's port has 130mm effective armor. all while tiger 1 has 300-400mm effective armor on the driver's port..
@user-rc1ub7zl5n he's more talking about APCR being extremely susceptible to ricochet and deflection against sloped armor.
The reason this shot is possible is likely because the SU-100 (and SU-122, SU-85, of course) has a reduced frontal slope compared to the T-34 it's based on.
Normally this shot would probably not penetrate a T-34, because the front plate is 60 degrees, where on the casemate tank destroyers it was reduced to something like 50 or 55 degrees.

After seeing that m82 kill the maus even from the side I had to go check projection analysis and that was the craziest shot. the window is legit 2 pixels

At least the centurions (which are equivalent BR range to the M48) are way better platforms. Have a stabiliser, better armour and equal mobility and don’t have that awful commander port.

How to win in a 7.7 - 8.0BR Match: Be with USSR, preferably with an Object 279. Stick close to the friendly tank with ERA and Composite Armor with Two plane stab and a dart and just pick off from its leftovers.

@@matteo.v3758 russia at 8.3 gets era and from 8.0 most tanks get 2 plane stabs and apfsds , 279 is painful to play against even in 8.3 Germany , granted you get shit german teams
@@Acer-nv9zh Most games aren't even at 8.0 but 9.0 - 9.3, so many XM1s and other harder to kill bucket of bolts
@@Acer-nv9zh there is not a single tank with era at 8.3-8.7 and the stabilizer is actually useless if the turret rotation speed sucks
tip for king tigers: with heat or AP, shoot them in the very bottom rear of the turret this causes a ammo detonation almost every time (99% of the time), easier kill, and less hassle, stay grinding dawg

well it's way better now... back then when i was grinding this thing, apcr rounds barely generate any spalling... i still remember my apcr went through the chest of an american T34 gunner and that dude only turned orange...
Grinding the magach 1 and 2 made me want to do unspeakable things
Bring less ammo btw, once you get past (i think) 30 rounds it puts them in the front of the hull next to the driver. That'll get you killed a lot.
Though the Patton and M60 families are my absolute favourite tanks, I'll admit that the stock grind, especially for the M48A1 is abysmal

something about researching all the upgrades in a tank/plane that you are never going to use in the future is infuriating but satisfying.
did you know the tiger 2s ammo is at the back of the turret, so you should aim there for more one shots

Been 3yrs since i left the game and this thing still got stock ACPR 😂
Yeah,grinding this thing was a pain and a half,the APCR is horrible. BUT,once you research the M82,it all goes downhill.
I use it in my lineup with the M60 and the M163,and it can pack quite a punch even in an uptier, since the HEAT-FS is okay for most tanks,and for the others either use the HE (if it can be easily overpressured) or the M82.
But in all honesty, I can't wait to finish researching the M60A1 so i can switch to the M163/M60A1/T95E1 lineup

This tank is pretty good before update. I get 2 nuke with this thing. The engine is great rather than m60 engine, but the transmission is meh limited to the name tank 48

Jagdpanzer 4 - 5 has it quite bad too. You start with 102 mm pen HESH !
I’m surprised by the effectiveness of the APCR in those early clips. Better than APDS on the British tanks. Or HEAT sometimes.
They do the American M48 and M60 family so bad. Has a reverse rate of 12mph but it only gets 5mph 😭
I'd say one of the worse stock grinds in war thunder is the M56 Scorpion.

I legit gave up on spading the Chinese M48. Its nothing but pain. This thing should be 7.0 at most.
@@timharnansIts Rangefinder is just the Commanders Keen Vision but upgraded. Its not a LSF. HEATFS you already face in 6.7, all German tanks has decent armor and neutral steering except when it faces HEATFS including the M48.

The Leopard one is not much better now after 6.0 got decompressed. I only got that tank after the BR changes, but it basicly went from constantly getting downtiered to 6.3 to constantly getting uptiered to 8.7 or even 9.0. At least I am getting 99% uptiers with that thing. Considering it's average firepower, mobilty, somewhat lacking survivability and lack of stabilizer and laser range finder, it really struggles a lot. Especially when you get a long range map and the range finder maxes out at a third of the engagement distance.
Yeah the leopard one used to just dunk on the whole of the 6.3-7.3 BR range. It wasn’t fair and wasn’t fun to play against.

For some reason you get insane splash damage with SPAA against its commander cupola
That's the pattons for ya. Also the gepard ammo shouldn't even really explode after penning as its self destroying as in time fuze detonates it not aphe where pen activates it.

The first west German M48 stock grinding was the worst stock grind ive ever experienced the Tank is so slow poor acceleration , but its i say its worth the grind .The problems i have with this tank is the reload speed and the 48 km /h max speed 😅
Id say stock T-80Um 2 and stock T-80 UK grinding way better than this M48 tank

Gotta soon grind this out for the german tt. Dont like how it looks has apcr and affer using the german bulldog its apcr was a nightmare fhis wont be any different. If anything worse since its movement is poor. Also it just looks nasty.
What about is3? In stock it is slower than a maus, has to aim for weakspots even in downtiers and gets fucked by heatfs in uptiers

M48 is yet acceptable in this br, not bad armored, has acceptable penetration at stock but has a terrible tendency to ricochet, I'm most afraid of the centurion which is probably the worst machine I've ever seen and I'll have to grind.
