Hey everybody! After a bit of reading, and some of your feedback, we let all the co2 out of Paula’s tires and re-filled them with just air. The sealant inside seemed to be fine, so we left it. 100% we’d recommend using an injector and putting sealant in through the valve, but this was admittedly a bit of a rush job and we just needed to get out on the road. Thanks for all the tips everybody 🤙
Great video as always! When the logo popped up at the end my wife and I said, “That’s it?!”, at the same time. It was too short. We both really enjoy watching your adventures. The time flies by. Thanks for continuing to put out videos. Keep it up please. Looking forward to supporting you two when the gear comes out.
A lot of these aren’t available for anything besides video use, but we’ve got a couple different playlists we’ve put together to make up for it: open.spotify.com/playlist/61SWwR1ykknr8L88BnpkCn?si=e7-y6yLUSh6ci7_ammNw7w open.spotify.com/playlist/4mwwqzPnC2Lo6mXMo3HcHg?si=-1byr5-4RqKL3f0zOql3-g
Love the dramatic coffee scene, I feel like that's pretty much America until we get our caffeine fix! You put in a small clip of Paula using massage gun before tempo run. Do you two have a go to warm up / cool down routine for training. What do you do for recovery? I find that recovery is the most neglected aspect in my training. Thanks, love your videos!
Top tip for life with tubeless. Carry a Stans Dart plug which will seal the bigger holes that the sealant cannot fix. Carry a pump to top up as Co2 can freeze the sealant and you won't get a seal. Try lower pressure on the tyre now you don't need to protect against pinch punctures and see how comfortable and fast you can be. Less is more. Stay safe.
Just a few suggestions. Stans makes a "race" version of the sealant, which seals race tires even better. If you take the valve core out to seat the tire, the airflow is higher. To get the tire on the rime, try and have it sit in the centre grove of the rimbed, makes a big difference with the struggle. The Co2 will degrade the sealant, don't leave it in there for to long.
Yeah that’s what I read. Causes it to make little balls or something. It sounds like it happens to some people and not to others. We’ll be opening them up to check once we have a tubeless pump.
Definitely one of your best videos ( all of them are great). Was very informative as I just bought tubeless gravel bikes for me and wife. Bike maintenance tips for amateurs always appreciated. Paula is a clown 🤪 , and puts a huge smile on my face every Sunday morning. Very nonchalant re jaw dropping run pace. Have a great week
The only way I can run a 3 min km is if I’m strapped to a car and it’s just dragging me along. Beast mode! Hoping y’all have gentler summer weather, tempo runs in Miami are kicking my ass.
I mounted my Schwalbe One TLE tyres on the Fulcrum rims with a track pump and rode my bike without sealant for some weeks. It 's a matter of time untill everything will be standardised and inner tubes will be a thing of the past.
Would love to hear more about how you guys warm up and recover. I sore Paula using a massage gun, wondering how/when you incorporate that tool. Cheers!
hi, amazing first 1'30 shots and last minute before gopro and drone shot. what camera do you use for this intro ? sony ZV1 ? thanks for this weekly vlog !
Great video once again. Tubless defo the way to go. All my three bikes are now tubeless. My Gravel, road, and TT bike no punctures whilst riding, or more importantly whenever we can again whilst racing I would add my tubeless inflated with a decent foot pump. and sealant put in through tubeless valves.
Normal great vid. I'd echo a couple of the other comments re tubeless - fit the tyre without sealant, pop it into place with a CO2, deflate the tyre and squirt the sealant in through the valve before inflating with a track pump. I'd heard the CO2 can have an adverse effect on the sealant and that's probably a cleaner way.
Great job! We all just training as to what seems right! Please let Challenge Daytona happen. Also I need a good starter espresso machine. Thoughts? Thank you two!
We love our profitec. We’ve got the pro500, but I think the next model down would be great too. On the entry level side, the breville barista express or pro would be a good way to get your feet wet and it sort of includes a grinder, which simplifies things
No Tubes Race Sealant contains too large fiberparticles to pass the valve stem. You can pour it in your tyre without spilling when you hang the wheel while working.
For free speed on race day.... Vittoria Corsa Speed tubeless! The rest of the time, Conti GP 5000 TL. And KOM Cycling's sealant injector doubles as a dipstick to check your sealant level via the valve stem without unseating the tire's bead.
Great stuff as always! Definitely curious to hear how the tires work out for you. I've also had tubeless for mtb and gravel for a bit now, but have been similarly hesitant to try it on the road bike.
I use tubeless tyres on my road bikes for some years now. Stans No Tubes race sealant performs the best imo. Shake well and pour it directly inside the tyre with the wheel suspended. No mess! When the rubber gets thinner by use the puncture protection drops significantly though. Then a plug may come in handy. With the right mounting technique you won't need a tyrelever to install the tyre to the rim, take care of the bead! Be sure that the bead seats correctly in the side of the rim otherwise you'll have a slight bumpy ride. I spray a soapy solution between the tyre and the rim before inflation to have a better seat and seal.
Small punctures will fix themselves with just a small loss of pressure. Bigger holes will need a plug such as Stan's Dart and some air to pump up. You should not need to take the tyre off until it is worn out . Replace the sealant every few months through the valve ..
OK I'm going to be "that guy" and offer an unsolicited tip. Next time try using a rubber tipped air blower nozzle and shoot air directly into the valve with the core removed. We do it in the shop all day long this way and it's the easiest method by far. Great vids btw, please keep them coming!
Tubeless is def the way to go, but don't think that means you'll never get a flat again! They'll be less frequent for sure, but it still happens. I'd recommend always carrying plugs and getting a valve core remover, it'll make refilling sealant a way cleaner process!
I have the same grinder. But seriously, which tires do you recommend for tubeless? any pros/cons? I am still hesitant to switch but getting there :). thanks in advanced!
So heather recommended the IRC to me, and I’ve had great luck with them on gravel, but I haven’t ridden the road ones long enough to give a review. I really like the feel of the tread on the IRC while cornering, but TBD on flats
@@ThatTriathlonLife thanks for the reply. Which particular IR tire model would you recommend? Formula tubeless light or RBCC or even the X-guard? thanks!
Cons would be messy setup, potentially harder to change a flat (if you get one the sealant won’t seal). Pros would be lower roller resistance, getting fewer/almost no flats.
it's the insta360, so not necessarily better that the hero 8, but different. Comparable to the go pro MAX 360 cam. Eric is constantly frustrated while using it, so I don't think it's great, but it gives some cool footage.
@@paula_findlay Ye they do one where you can switch the lenses from 360 to normal. It does give amazing shots 🙏 think i will stick with the gopro. Thanks for the reply x
Is that the GoPro Max camera? How do you control it, is there a remote or something? Or can you pan later when editing? Want to start shooting some video but don’t have the no hands skills while riding my tt bike (only bike I have). Need to figure out some mounting options.
it's the insta360, but the GoPro max is the same (or better). It captures everything and you edit on the app afterwards to show what you wanna show on screen.
you really dont want flats (tubeless still can if you get a gash), get tannus solid tires for your training rides. same weight as air tires. rolling resistance similar to gatorskins... but its a training ride, focus is on watts for duration.

I'm not going to lie. I think you have the best triathlon youtube channel right now.
It's a toss-up between Eric/Paula and Lionel!

Always inspiring 😀 thanks for sharing your journey with us! ☀️
So do you have a Spotify playlist of all these jams? The small touches of music add to your great editing but they’re also great tunes

oh man! i really just wish to be only half as good as eric films. just has a great feel for cinematography! im a huge huge fan!
Liked the unique vibe of this one.
Thanks man
I love that new bike cam footage, awesome job Paula (because it has to be the skill of the photographer; l

that 360 camera is awesome, and that descent looks like an awesome place to ride.

I doubt CO2 is able to degrade the sealant. Isn't it the freezing temperature at the moment of inflation that might cause a problem??
Yeah that’s what I read. Causes it to make little balls or something. It sounds like it happens to some people and not to others. We’ll be opening them up to check once we have a tubeless pump.
Once again adding to my Sunday....
Love the quality of all the videos! Keeps getting better and better! A video about the general equipment on the bikes would be super cool :)
In case no one said on here, for road tubeless best to get the tyre seated and then add the sealant through the valve
Great video as always and I will look into those tires for my next wheels
Super cool coffee intro Eric, the footage and music are award winning. I must have watched the first few minutes 10X and I don't even drink expresso.

great video! Might need some new tires, thanks for showing that!
Love that intro!!!
That was cool with the 360 degree camera
I see the resurgence of transition four being foreshadowed 👀
love the music
I subscribed when I saw their espresso machine and Eureka grinder.

Great video! Still no sold on tubeless for road but 100% agree with it for gravel and MTB. Maybe I’m just scared of all that work to mount them 🤣
Dammmnnnn Paula! That’s a serious pace...
Great video! Love watching you guys!
Great video as always! Love the couple humor! Haha. Tubeless (and some 650b) is my next upgrade for my Warroad!
Awesome vid! And yes, tubeless, 'nuff said!! :)
Finished a long ride on my clinchers while you were faffing around with beaded tires, sealant, air compressors...
Cool
I mounted my Schwalbe One TLE tyres on the Fulcrum rims with a track pump and rode my bike without sealant for some weeks.
It 's a matter of time untill everything will be standardised and inner tubes will be a thing of the past.
I just set up a new pair of Rolf Aeres 6 tubless and they are so awesome to ride. A bit of a pita to get set up but totally worth it.
Can't wait to see the video of trying to remove tubeless tires. I've never been able to do it without tears of frustration.
Much love to you both and flynn
360 camera for the win....more footage please! also, need den zips!
👍👍👍 hope you guys make it to Canmore soon 🇨🇦...

What is the Camera Mount Pole at the start on Paula's bike?
BTW Awesome videos
Pretty convincing case to convert to tubeless!
More flatter, more better. Rules to live by

“We have a crazy tempo run to do, let’s go...” [cuts to Menards commercial] 😂😂😂😂😂
Got lucky with a lululemon!
Haha wish we could pick. When we started watching the premier we got one for a jaw exercise device 🤦♂️
Nice! I just did a similar rig on my bike for my Insta360 OneX using a Home Depot metal bracket :)
New Wheels!!!! 😍😍😍
That is a serious espresso machine...
Hi Eric and Paula,
What rack system do you have in your garage? I want to have my bike hanging and out of the way in my new garage. Thanks!
I don’t know the name of the system but it’s by Rubbermaid 👌
Where can i get one of those bike mounted camera stick?
Get the TLR Charger floor pump! Game changer to inflate tubeless tyres!
Or a Schwalbe Tyre Booster!
definitely on our list.
Please do a video on your espresso setup!
Great video! I want coffee now! 😂 Try Installing the sealant through the valve stem. Much cleaner and easier. Just my opinion.
No Tubes Race Sealant contains too large fiberparticles to pass the valve stem.

I'm sure that GoPro mount makes you the Gran Joust Champion!
More awesome!
Need a review of that Trek Domane!
what's the song on 3:00?
Awesome video as always! If you flat on tubeless I’m guessing repairing is more expensive?

It would be cool if you could arrange some kind of contest with team Charles. It would be fun to see Paula and Lucy do something mechanical.
Important Q: what model and brand is your coffee machine please? Love the vids!
Profitec Pro500 👌

How's it going with leaving Finn at home when y'all head out? Is he better in his crate/at home without y'all?
we just leave him with free-run of the house and he has been great. totally happy and sleeps the whole time. gave up on the crate, unfortunately.
@@paula_findlay that's so lucky! he must not be a chewer at all
I find with tubeless on my gravel bike I am constantly filling the tires every three days....sticking with tube tires where I never have issues
Check your tape job on those gravel wheels, I bet you're losing air through the spoke holes.
What’s the pros and cons of going tubeless? New to cycling
Cons would be messy setup, potentially harder to change a flat (if you get one the sealant won’t seal). Pros would be lower roller resistance, getting fewer/almost no flats.
Will you also use Tubeless during a race? Did you train how to fix it if you need to fix a wheel during the race?
Nerofin you can bring a plug if the sealant doesn’t seal or just bring a tube and repair like you would a clincher.
GOATS
What massage gun do you use?
Hyperice
How do the tubeless work if you’re on the trainer a lot?
from where you get the tyres?
www.ircbike.com
I certainly don't have any more confidence on going tubeless. Clinchers seem to be so much easier
Definitely easier. We’re looking into it mostly for the racing implications and the possibility of not losing a race because of a flat
Great Video, just had a 30min argument with my boyfriend about what camera you was using on the bike. Is it better than the GoPro Hero 8 ?
( I Won )
it's the insta360, so not necessarily better that the hero 8, but different. Comparable to the go pro MAX 360 cam. Eric is constantly frustrated while using it, so I don't think it's great, but it gives some cool footage.

Do not use CO2 to inflate tubeless tires because it will cause the sealant to ball up and be rendered useless. CO2 in tubeless is for emergency only.
Agreed!
Also with tubeless increase in wheel/tire weight can be an issue. Love your videos. Keep it up!

get Crankbrothers speedier tire lever... once you have one you will never go back.. all kidn aside.. google it you wont regret them
if her hands arent strong eneough she will never need you again with the help of this little tool
Man you made that coffee look sexy! Great editing.
One comment, which I see from many people - too short. It would be cool to see season docs... I (and hopefully others) would Venmo $10 to see that.
Wtf... Video Starts at 7.30
