  • Do people really burn in hell? Part two of this two-part teaching continues to dispel the doctrinal argument that sinners burn in forever in hell by clearing up difficult scriptures that have been erroneously translated to support that belief.
    Verses: Matt. 25:46, 42-43; Mark 9:45, 48; 2 Pet. 2:6

hello, I just wanted to tell you: I love your channel! It truly speaks the truth and I have learned so much already, through a few videos. I was raised a christian and still am. But often we overlook things when we have them around us at all times. SO this really opened my eyes to a whole new prospective.

Thank you for this. It seems every part of Christianity I have struggled with are turning out to be false teachings. Many are simply the result of poor translations.

these two videos are brilliant :) knowing this makes so much more sense. it just seems to click, and i feel a huge weight has been lifted when i accept it haha. im sure tons of other people will feel the same upon hearing this message. sometimes i think one of them main reasons unbelievers do not want anything to do with the bible or christ is because of this message of hell, they see it as cruel. i also do! i cannot imagine enjoying heaven whilst knowing people are in eternal torment.

The "story" of Lazarus and the rich man is a parable. Even if it is not a parable, it still does not hold much against the rest of scripture

I don't know. It's so easy to interpret scripture two different ways and in both, I see punishment either way. Either hell exists and sinners are kept there until judgement day and then thrown into a lake of fire at the very end or the doctrine of soul sleep is true. Either way, I choose life.

people lie and are deceived, God's Word doesn't.
scriptures say "God mercy lasts forever"...the only thing that is eternal is God' Love..
in the new heavens "there will be no more pain"..and the "former things will not be remembered"..how can God forget the former things if there are millions suffering in some place in His creation ?
    millions He died for.
hell is a lie from the enemy, many people are turned off God from believing it.
believe the scriptures before u believe people,
    God Bless :)

He's absolutely right about "unquenchable" fire. It does not mean the fire burns forever and ever. In Jeremiah 17:27 God says, "I will kindle an unquenchable fire in the gates of Jerusalem," speaking of the destruction of the city by the Babylonian army. I've been to Jerusalem and I can assure you, there is no gate that is still burning there today!
"Unquenchable" in the bible does not mean the fire burns its subject for all eternity, it means it won't be put out until it fulfills its purpose.

Part 1 of 2 If Revelation 20:10 is coming to your mind as an apparent contradiction to what you have heard, thats great-it should. It speaks of the Devil and a couple of his henchman being thrown in the lake of fire and being tormented day and night forever and ever. However, the Bible was not written in English, and when we dig a bit deeper, we see that forever and ever in the Greek is more accurately for ages unto ages. In keeping with Gods decree in Genesis 3:15 that...continued

You say there is no hell, I agree with you. You believe that 'unsaved' man is annihilated, I disagree. For instance, in Ezekiel 16:53-55, God clearly states that Sodom will be "returned to their former state". I would consider the idea that we will be punished based on this life, but we will also all be redeemed. BTW: check your translation for "eternal" it means 'of the age' and indicates those who will outlive 'the age', which probably means the old covenant (perhaps 70 AD).

I am confused. You are saying that when we die a physical death, both our body and our soul dies? And we only live again if God resurrects us? But then, some will go into a second death in the lake of fire? Why does God resurrect those He will later annihilate? Aren't only the saved going to be resurrected? And isn't our resurrected body supposed to be immortal?

What's the point of God ressurecting the dead who were unsaved if they would just be destroyed again in the end? Isn't God just wasting his time bringing back to life those whom he reserved for destruction? Why bother resurrecting the ungodly if they had been sentenced to perish? And how can Satan be tormented or made to pay for his sins if he is a spirit? Can a spirit taste punishment through burning in fire? And what about those who were just deceived by the devil and by the false prophets? Is it justice that they perish together with the truly evil when in fact they also want to serve and worrship God, albeit they were offered the Trinity which is a falsse God whom they believed to be the true one?

This is something I feel that God has been trying to tell me for a long time, but my mind keeps going back to the bible and misunderstanding it,let alone the preachers preaching.,but if this is true then why are they so many people who say they have died and went to hell or heaven. And then you have all the people who keep saying that the Holy Spirit has a message for them to tell people, then they go into talking about going hell if they dont cahnge and what will happen to them. Just wondering.

  • @dsbiddle

Matthew 12:32 says "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come." Doesn't this imply that this age will end but the next one does not? It seems that's what it's saying because speaking against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven.

That story is a parable to explain the importance of not being selfish or greedy. That could also include selfishness with truth. You see some people are rich with Godly wisdom but do not take the time to share with the spiritually poor. They hoard the wisdom for themselves when they could be teaching somebody else about the love of God. Either way we can find comfort knowing that God has not established an eternal torture chamber. God is Love

  • @jeffreyguse3379
    @jeffreyguse3379 6 років тому +2

Logically this makes sense. How can you be eternally happy in heaven with the full knowledge that those you loved might be experiencing eternal torment forever? Yet, what about the rich man and Lazarus? I don't think it was a parable. He wasn't being consumed. I believe that Sheol might be a temporary place for those who are destined for gehenna, in this case the rich man was not in gehenna, but Sheol - a different location. In Sheol, you might be awaiting your destiny of being consumed as part of the judgement of God and be in utter pain and torment, but you are not being destroyed. And paradise (where Lazarus and Abraham were residing), isn't heaven. Sheol = jail, gehenna = prison. In Sheol you have been sentenced; in Gehenna, prison, the sentence is carried out and that is eternal destruction.

Jeffrey Guse I believe that Lazarus and the rich man was a parable, you could check it out on www.helltruth.com, they also talk about the punishment of death and not eternal torment. In Ecclesiastes 9:5-10 you might find an answer about Sheol. There is no conscience in the grave and the grave is a translation of the word Sheol. Maybe I find some more bible verses about that topic. God bless you

So what about all the civilisations in the past who had no idea who Christ was. For example: the Native Americans that existed before the early settlers who never knew Christ. Would they be punished into eternal death for simply not ever knowing Christ? What about tribes that exist on the planet who are so secluded that they have no idea who Christ is. Will they be destroyed because they didn't learn anything about God's word. Or what about people with such horrible mental disorders that it's impossible to know anything? Will they get everlasting death? Or will they be judged fairly?

very cool. I think you should run this video under a different title so it will pop up in different searches about hell. I have been made aware of this truth about two years ago, through my studies of the scriptures.(praise Jesus). since that time we have lost all fellowship. Edwin Holcombe Many people take this attitude, and my first response would be: "Who says it has to be horrible?" , but my second response would be: To be snuffed out like a candle when you could live forever, perhaps with your loved ones all around you and be part of an exciting new future? Can you not see why Yeshua would warn us to avoid that ? Imagine your loved ones going on to a shiny new future, but you having to tell them: "I can't share this future with you. I rejected salvation and must cease to exist".

Some people would like this! Man decides to kill people then dies and just stops existing after God judges him and destroys him. This would most likely "be a way out" for sinners. The same way people who go to jail would ask for the death penalty. So they do not have to face their Just sentence.

For me and my walk, I need there to be an eternal punishment. because if I believe I will just not exist after judgement it makes me feel prideful and entitled to do whatever I please because I just will feel nothing eventually. but to know I will live forever being punished makes me cling to God's word so that I wouldn't stray. And makes his eternal love important and the reason Jesus died for our sins to save us from this punishment.

( The Ref. i Luke 16:19 onward ). If you follow Jesus but do not take his words literally you aren't really following are you? I dont think that makes sense at all. To pick and choose what you like simply because it makes you feel good isn't a good idea. If Jesus didn't mean what he said, how can we trust him elsewhere?

I don't think is true. Then what would be the point of God's JUDGMENT? We get judged according to our deeds. If it is all up to us then that wouldn't make any sense. We have a choice, yes, between life or death, but God is the judge of our choices. So no matter what we think the bible says, leave it up to God. Further, many people would rather die then live, even for eternity, so that doesn't make sense either. Hell IS real, it is to absent from the presence of God, source of all life and love.!

MrPickles Channel i believe Lazarus and the rich man was a parable and not relay taking about a kind of an afterlife in Sheol or hades because the translation of Sheol is grave and in Ecclesiastes 9:5-10 it states that there is no conscience... I would like to share a webside with you www.helltruth.com there is also an explanation about Lazarus and the rich man and about the punishment of death. I think it’s really hard nowadays to find what is really the truth in the Bible because there are so many doctrines it’s unbelievableand many of them can’t be true. I mean there are people who pray to angels, they believe in purification or universalism, which is in my opinion not true but this is not so important I think. We have all the same foundation which is in Christ, this really matters, everything just helps us to understand the glory and the goodness of God and I don’t believe that we have an eternal soul that is able to live without God, because in Roman 11:36 states that nothing exist without his presence or without his will. When God separates himself from us I believe that we will not exist anymore so the penalty of death in the lake of fire is rightous in my eyes. The Bible states that the wages of sin is death. God bless you

He will forgive, if u want to be forgiven...ive talked to people and they just don't want God's Salvation, they love their sin....their proud of their wickedness...God offers us forgiveness of all things through Christ but we have to chose to take it.
its a bad time to be disillusioned!...Jesus is coming for His bride, those who truly believe and are Born Again, we are at the door of the great tribulation!
worry about u and Jesus, drop everything else!
    God Bless :)
