That scene has to be up there with the greatest in-game cinematics of all time. Particularly with all the background of Shadowheart story and Sword Coast lore. Breathtaking.
there is, for sure, alternative Dakr Justiciar path, seen alternative, tho it's not that obvious like if Shadowheart makes choice I'm not even sure she always renounces her goddess, it's probably combination of things, or probably just kill her option when she asks what she should do
I trusted her as well. I didn't have her pray at the alter of Shar though. Maybe that has something to do with it. My next playthrough, I'm going the dark route, with an oathbreaker paladin. Going to be so good lol
I did this part last night and also teared up. How incredible are the cinematics!? Never in a game have I been so happy with loosing control of my character for a second.
I fought Balthizar here. Dam that was hard fight but in the end I managed to set her free and Shadow was brought back from the brink of Darkness. I was so into this moment that I forgot I was playing a game haha. God I love this game
Love how shadowhearts decision at that moment depends on what moral choice you made previously. If you Played good you can trust her and she will make the right choice. If you play evil you need to convince her
I find it funny, how people said they trust, they have good relation, but can't trust in someone else, must talk what they think is good. I must say, author of this dialog make great job, because sometimes silence saying more that you trust them, than words.
This scene is so epic. As for who she is, then she says so herself: She is the daughter of the Moon Maiden, so a half-goddess and Shar's niece and technically Mystra's half-sister.
I just hope that I have enough influence for the Dice Rolling Mechanic so I can persuade Shadowheart not to kill the Nightsong. I mean I’ve already gotten her approval high through out Act 1 as well as little make out session after defeating the Goblin Horde. I’m just afraid once I reach the Nightsong Questline, Shadowheart will end up killing the Nightsong if I pick the trust Shadowheart to decide the Nightsong’s fate.
@@Renfail Thanks, I promise I won’t screw up and let Shadowheart become a Dark Justiciar which could lead my main character and her be trapped in a loveless relationship.
I beat Balthazar here by shoving him into the abyss while he was busy talking. I was pissed that I missed his loot, so I reloaded an earlier save and killed him in his office int he Shar Gauntlet and his loot was ASS. Totally not worth it.
I wished this best performance award (for voice acting) could be split. Jennifer English deserves at least half the price (no offense to Neil Newbon obviously - or any other of this great cast).
there is a suspicion that shar and selune are not twins but the same goddess imagine doing all this good and having a child then your alternative self to come in and destroy everything and kill your child
I wouldn't kill the Nightsong either, she deserved a much better fate than being imprisoned and tortured for 100 years only to get murdered at the hands of a Sharran. She did nothing to deserve that, I felt really bad for her and it made me dislike Ketheric and Shar even more. Ketheric is willing to put his daughter-in-law through a century of pain and suffering just to ressurect his own daughter. Shar is willing to have one of her indoctrinated followers execute her own niece just to spite her twin sister!

I have watched this scene so many times and it still gives me chills.
Oh it's SOOOOO good. I can't wait to get back with my Sorcerer and see it again!
That scene has to be up there with the greatest in-game cinematics of all time. Particularly with all the background of Shadowheart story and Sword Coast lore.
Breathtaking.
SO well done!
One of the most amazing scenes in the game...in almost any game.
agree!
I chose the first option to trust Shadowheart and not interfere and she made this choice on her own.
Interesting!

lots of combos!@@nickrubin7312

I did the same and never felt more nervous lol. It just seemed like the right choice.

Indeed
best scene in the game so far and by far (at the start of Act3), the music, the visual storytelling, everything
it's soooooooooo good
oh just wait
this =P@@WhatDuhDogDoin
This is probably my favourite scenes of BG3 so far. I did it myself yesterday.
Blew my mind for real!
4:30 I loved your reaction! and I do the same reaction when I see this awsome scene.
We have a lot of fun in the streams. Hopefully we'll see you there some time!
First time I saw this I lost it, glad I didn't have a headset on because I came out of my chair lol
lol nice
The music really gets you in this scene. Love it.
soooo good :)

Such an epic moment :)
I just Eldritch Blasted him off the platform but he drops a dope item so second play through killed him when you first meet him.
I never get tired of watching this scene.
It's sooooo good
She’s an Aasimar they’re humanoids with celestial Lineage similar to tieflings and their fiendish lineage
Nice :)
@@Renfailshe might be the moon maiden's daughter.
@@christopherwyatt9754You're correct. She is.
Letting Shadowheart make her own choices and free Aylin feels SO rewarding.
indeed :)
that moment i realized, this is GOTY. I never thought i would play anything better than the Souls games. Masterpiece.
It's REALLY good!
My paladin took up the Glaive, one of the best scenes in the game so far. Also this is the area where I had to face Balthizar.
Nice!
One of the great moments in RPGs. I've never been more proud of an imaginary person lol.
Right?!
Love how shadowhearts decision at that moment depends on what moral choice you made previously. If you Played good you can trust her and she will make the right choice. If you play evil you need to convince her
Right? Amazing storytelling

For real!
best scene I've ever seen in a game
SOOOO good

still felt good to rock his world ;)
your reaction was wholesome. +1 sub
Cheers
So if you asked if this is what she wanted then chose to trust her if you did good guy shit all game she'll make the choice herself.
Kewl
Praise moon jesus! She is spectacular
indeed!

Great work all around
How every paladin feels himself
probably lol
It’s said by the necromancer that she is a Aasimar. Basically she has celestial blood.
He never accompanied me so no, it's not a given that he says that's who she is.
@@Renfail He tells it to you when you arrive at the circle she’s being kept in.
gotcha; I killed him in the gauntlet so he wasn't with me here@@kjamesjr
Aylin is Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile 😅😅
Cool!

What is she? Appears to be a Valkyrie....could be wrong.
god offspring essentially

yeah neither one of them were on my "worthy of noticing" lists. SMITE ALL THE EVIL!
@@Renfail Dame Aylin, Isobel, and Shadowheart deserved so much better than these two evildoers.
