I bought this tool and have used it on my pedals and it's great. But, can you also use this to trace a signal in a 1960's battery operated, POSITIVE Ground, transistor radio? If so, how do you make the connections? I ask because I didn't know if the old Positive grounding scheme affects the way you hook up the signal wire, or anything else.
Great you like it. There should be no problem if you take a little care. Power the pen from a separate source and connect this pen ground to the radios plus OR minus on the battery. Depends on how the schematic is done but does not harm the pen when wrong. Should work both ways.
Yes, as long as you are testing before the power part. If the power amp ICs are bad they need to be replaced anyway. But you will find out if the are the cause.
The reference voltages of the test signal are based on 9V. If you lower the input voltage the signal level is reduced as well. It will work with below voltages but we didn't test it out
You are right. The video is usually linked from the product pages but everyone finding it from somewhere else needs this: diy.thcustom.com/shop/signal-tracer-injector-pen-v6-2/ Thank you 😊
I hope it is good, I just bought one :-) Regarding your web shop .. you should use a little more energy to discribe your products. For uninitiated it can be a little hard to get the overview, and a search function would be nice too. Said in all respect.
That's an incredibly useful tool! 👍
Nice work! Love the signal tracer I purchased from TH Custom Effects!

Dankeschön. Ich schau Mal wie das mit dem Link geht.

Does this have a high voltage film capacitor on the input so it can be used to troubleshoot tube amps?
Super late reply… but man… I hope you don’t go messing with amps with this thing. That seems very dangerous ⚠️
Just curious - would this work on audio receiver that has speaker output issue?
Yes, as long as you are testing before the power part. If the power amp ICs are bad they need to be replaced anyway. But you will find out if the are the cause.
What is the lowest voltage this will work with? or is it only 9v

Is this an audio probe or a continuity meter? Im assuming audio probe but I just wanted to make sure :)
Its a great idea!
It's an audio probe with built in signal generator
@@thcustomeffects4706 I just ordered one! Thank you :)
lt doesn't tell you how much it is, or how to buy one.
