I built this Signal Tracer and it works great. My box is a third of the size of yours.
A simple circuit that does a great job for only a couple of bucks at most
I have built this probe, and it works better than the heathkit probe.
Wow, I thought the Heathkit would be a better performer. Goes to show that a simple circuit can do a great job, Thanks Jim :)
Interesting video Frank, I already have a vintage one but I’m sure some viewer/hobbyist will benefit from this one. I like that you used the gift card as a circuit board, that’s what I call thinking out of the box.
Thanks Ken. Vintage ones are scarce here I've yet to see one advertised for sale. The gift card idea just came to me and they're free at the supermarket lol
I built mine using the same circuit only I bought a little 1w amplifier module off of Ebay. This was a few years ago. Great little tool. Nice one. PS always watch and love your videos 👍
Hey Terry, it really is a great tool. Thanks for watching Man, I really appreciate it 😀
That's a smart idea. Where in the circuit did you hook up this mini amplifier?
Is this the poor man's version Mr. Carlsons Lab? Good because I couldn't afford his stuff anyhow! LOL Nice probe Frank.
Absolutely Steve. I noticed in one of his videos he has a multi meter worth over 600 bucks and that's probably one of his cheaper ones lol. Thanks Man
You had an original 1N34A just lying around!? Nice simple circuit.
Hey Chris, yeah I bought some several months ago thinking I would build a crystal set, which I still haven't gotten around to. Yep, the simpler the better I reckon lol. Thanks for watching
