    I made my own using an external sound generator. This is such a streamlined solution! Much better.

    Very nice and self-contained solution at a decent price!
    It does exactly what it is intended for and it's obviously a lot easier to use and set up than a regular signal generator & amp/oscilloscope.

      It does the job, best probe I have seen is Mr Carlsons lab super probe which is ideal for rf circuits. It is very high impedance because it is non contacting! Ideal for radios, transmitters etc ! It also features noise detection circuits for tracing crackling, noisy resistors, and frying eggs background noisy resistors!

    Thanks for the info. I've got a couple of dead pedals that needed this. Just ordered one.

    Is this suitable for tracing radio IF or AF stages?

    Has anyone bought this that lives in the united states? I'm a little worried about shipping from Europe. Is there any where to buy it from in the states, or is the shipping reliable?

    Any idea if this would work for tracing 12-24VDC pedals? I'm guessing I'd need to power the pedal with separate power supply but just curious if it can handle higher voltage tracing? Dont see any voltage ratings in the build docs.

      I just emailed Thomas over at TH Customs. I know there is an LM386 on board, so a maximum of 12V, I assume. But I'll let you know what I find out.

      I got a reply back. It's designed for a 9V system, but everything on that board should handle up to 12V without issue.

      @@erikvincent5846 Thanks for getting that info and clarifying that. Good info to know as I have one or two higher voltage pcbs projects that I still need to get around to troubleshooting one of these days. Looks like a cool project and will work the vast majority of pedals out there.

    Would I be able to test 500 series gear with this? I assume so but just wondering!

    • @erikvincent5846
      @erikvincent5846 3 роки тому

      Like rack mount equipment? It would work, assuming you have a good schematic for what you are working on.

      @@erikvincent5846 Yeah, for rack mount gear. I have a DIY kit I can't get working, I don't have the schematic for it, however.

    cool tool, might get one. last time i had trouble it was a grounding issue from a solder joint to the back of a pot and the time before i didn't turn the volume up. 😂 also, like? aren't you basically playing operation? 😋😂

      @erikvincent5846 3 роки тому +1

      Pretty much. Although, this time, I want to make it "alarm"

      @@erikvincent5846 looks like it’s going to be a cool pedal, I’m enjoying these videos a lot, but I can’t get LTSpice to show a output waveform. 🤷‍♂️
