Approved ! Have done winter storage for my 997 the last five years, i use the Porsche recomendation: pump up the tyres to 58 psi, and have all the ventilation vents in open position, a good wash, trickle charger. I dont start the engine before i take it out in spring, no issues so far! Easy
Great list, and covers a lot of what I did last year!! The storage unit I use doesn't have electricity, so I pulled the battery, and used that same charger at home. No issues putting it back in for the spring. Didn't even lose the radio stations.
Great advice about storing your car, I have a car that I’m going to be storing and doing up so that’s great the in gear no hand break on and all of the other info is great the car cover is a great one thanks - off to look them all up thanks for the tips
Great winter storage video. Thank you for using our STA-BIL Storage fuel stabilizer! If anyone has any questions, please let us know. We are happy to help!
Good tips again and I also use the CTEK battery conditioner with all the adaptors - great product. I would also add that it’s worth using leather treatment cream on the seats and dash for added protection over winter. The cold does tend to dry out the leather. 😎
Yes can’t believe it’s winter lay up already . Them trickle chargers are a must , also the tank safe with E5 I use millers tank safe and they recommend leaving the tank full of petrol to stop condensation 👍 great video as always still getting use to new name 😂👍
Thanks for another informative vid. Here is a further winter tip if you use your Porsche as a daily drive and keep it outside. Last year I had a hard freeze and when I opened the door of my Cayman the window was frozen solid, so could not go down a fraction as the door opened - and something inside broke. Needed a new window motor, so be warned. Easily preventable though. A half cover for a Boxter will also fit the Cayman, and will protect the side windows, as well as keeping ice off the windscreen.
First Porsche comes at you for “The Porsche Network”. Now, the new logo! The next time UPS knocks on your door, they might not be delivering a parcel. You are a rebel Satch!!! I love it. Keep the content coming. Thanks for the tips. Mine is a daily so, no storage for her. I just take PTO when the weather dictates.
Glad you did mention the rodent/mice issue. After I purchased my 2005 Boxster last year I opened the engine compartment only to find a hell of a mouse nest on top of the intake manifold. Any advice on controlling these buggers would be appreciated. Thanks again for your good work!

She’ll V95 in the Boxster and stabil in the tractor and snowmobiles. Boxster on the lift and goes for a long drive once a month in our long harsh NC winter😀. Charger on all toy batteries, Ctech on Boxster
Hi Satch another informative vid. If I had your 911 I would not take it out during the winter!! I only have a 2.8 ink Capri, but it doesn’t see the light of day from October till April 😄😄. There again Porsche ‘s are much better weather protected. All the best to you.
Can anyone tell me, should I leave the bonnet popped so I can access the battery? I think the light stays on and drains it, I want to fit my trickle charger but can't close the bonnet with it fitted because of the trailing wire.
@@PaulHawkins87 there’s definitely enough space for the small charger wires. Also, I’m not 100% sure, but I was always under the impression that when the frunk is closed (not fully, but one click) then the light would turn off. I’m not 100% sure on that though.. may need a little investigating. 👍
Hi Satch, enjoy your vids. I’m assuming 5-8 psi overfill in tires. Also re Stabil, my mech recommends that I only use the Shell highest octane fuel ( here V Power Nitro+) He maintains that this fuel is of a quality well beyond the other premium fuels available to consumers - no renewable fuel additives like ethanol and methanol. Just my thoughts. Keep up the great work!
You should have your tires up around 45 to max 50psi. 5-8 might sound right to most people in most cases but people ride anywhere from 30psi to 36psi with these cars, so better to pump it up to a set number than up from an arbitrary point.
I sent an email about the iCarsoft tool and I did not receive any comments back? It is causing issues with my car and I need some technical assistance. I emailed on 10/5 but no response yet
Hello. I don't have anything to do with the aftersales unfortunately. If you can let me know exactly whats happening though i might be able to take a look.
@@alsatch_ When I try to reset the Oil Change, the dashboard flashes, warning lights go off, and it says communication error. When I get to the third attempt, the check engine light comes on. It worked flawlessly the first time I used it. The unit has been carefully stored in a cupboard since. I tried to update the unit's software and I get a "runtime" error and it won't update.
That's very odd I've never seen this happen before. The runtime error might be something on your laptop/pc so perhaps try it on a different machine to see if it updates ok?
Sorry about the loud rave music. Never realised how bad it was until I watched it back 😬😬😬.
music is fine IMO

You did mean to overinflate the tires by 5-8 psi right?
Really good tips Satch, really enjoyed watching this video. Keep up the good work my man.
Sta-bil is brilliant stuff I've used it for a long time now since having to have the FD rebuilt and cleaned on my winter stored 928 👌
Thank you for using our products!
Great tips. I don’t have the luxury of storing mine as it’s my daily but I have invested in winters👍🏼

When did you find show?!
The snow shots and thumbnail were taken a year or so ago. Thanks for watching 👍
Bro why do you have the ups badge..
Anyone offer advice on disconnecting the battery at all?
What about engine oil for the winter? Change it before or change it in the spring? Or ??

You can feed the trickle charger out of the top of the frunk (between the panel and the windscreen) and completely close it.

I've had condensation built up in both ABS and ignition coils because of cold storing outside during winter months in the past. not uncommon.
