I am going to be installing a pebble tile in my shower floor and this video actually answered a ton of my questions!!! Thank you so much!!
Hello, is it that hard to clean up? 😊 I know it’s been 7 years but trying my luck 😄
Thank u for this video. I’m in my first home and I’m trying my best to do one thing at a time. It comes to the bathroom and tiling you just have me hope. Stay blessed 🙏
DIY'er here; love watching your videos. Thanks for all the tips.
About to do this myself with the rounded pebble stones. Thanks for the tips and I enjoyed the explanation on the wall tile and how you use a board to start! Keep up the good work!
I e been a carpenter for 30 years. And going to try my hand at some of my own tile. Thanks for your videos your videos answered every single question i would have asked. Thanks again. Great videos
Thanks coach, im removing and replacing this type of install coming up, really appreciate your step by step advice, thank you, dont stop 👍
Nice job, I appreciate the details...I'm ready to launch into using the pebble mosaic's on my shower floor.
Its three years later and I just bought the flat ones from Floor and Decor. Hope it turns out just as nice. Great vids
Thanks for sharing…putting down some pebble tile this weekend.
Really appreciate you guys taking your time to show us how to do it
I like using the flat pebbles. Its one of the easiest mosaics to use imo and looks really nice. It brings a little nature into the design.
Nice work btw.
Wish we could have seen the final product showing the finished product and how you get the grout in between the pebbles and what you use to finish off and seal the floor. I’m a first time tile setter DIY-Er so I need all the tips I can get! Lol
I loved this video. Loved the creative choices. I, too, would have loved to have seen the project finished and how the tiles were cut. I really liked the style of this shower design.
Your videos have inspired me to finally tackle my project! Keep them coming, and thank you brother🤘
I can say that after having a round pebble shower floor for the last 5 years here in Alaska, it can be hard on the feet. I'm tearing mine out and installing the flat pebble in a month or so. I've never laid tile, but as a bricklayer, I've laid thousands and thousands of brick, block and stone, including flat stone. Kinda looking forward to it.
Good video brother.
That's good to know. Thanks for your comment. I was going to get the round pebbles today.
Nice Indonesian Flat Sliced Pebble Mosaics Installation. Good Job.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make & post it!
This was very helpful to me as I am about to lay something very similar to this.. although it doesn't look like my sheets of flat pebble tile are interlocking.. I have dry laid them and so far so good.. but this was very helpful.. thanks a bunch
My man is the Bob Ross of laying tile!
That was very helpful. Thank you. Greetings from the Netherlands
I like the way you made them interlock. I have seen some examples which leave straight white grouting lines which spoils the effect.
Nice job with the pebbles.
I find that when I cut the edges straight they lay tighter on the sides and I don’t have to add in extra pieces on the sides. Usually doing larger showers too, so I won’t disturb the tiles as I’m trying to put filler pieces in. I do cut around the drain, customers don’t seem to mind. Keeps the look of the tiles and doesn’t look busy if I stick a bunch of smaller pebbles around the drain. Nice video!
Awesome video. Thank you.
Very cool job man.
i precut eveything first and rarely add pieces . like the first full sheets, i cut the edges off a little instead of just using the full sheet. even around the drain i can measure and cut out the square or circle without adding pieces. i will precut first then mix up thinset so no thinset dries. the more you keep pieces attached to the sheets, the better and easier it is.
That’s the best way I feel .
Took up my entire shower pan, now I have a problem. I took up all the tiles plus all the mud. Now I have a space between the wall tiles and the concrete floor.I stick like chuck and I will try to get it right by this weekend. I saw what you diid and it might work for me.
Nice job!
you are the man dude!!!
Thanks coach! Haha. Nah man but I love your vids and you're awesome
hello! thannks for sharing your knowledge. Please advise on type of grout. Does it have to be hridopel?
You did good. Thank you.
Should I pre-seal the stones to make sure the dark grout does not stain the light colored stones?
Good job.
What happened to you mudcaps on the corner of the bench ?
This helps a bunch - Thanks'
I usually lay floor out on flat surface to square edges ... same as you do around drain ... to ease cut edges I use a makita fb 5000 220 grit paper ... 👍
Thank you very helpful
Thank you again so much for sharing
We are planning to use the Kerdi shower pan with the flat stones 32 x 60. With a left side drain. Any tips for drainage we need to be aware of?
Your awesome brother thanks so much for all your help. I’m laying my first pebble floor soon. The flat marble type with marble 4x12 on the wall. Was going to use regular mortars with a kerdi type shower called alino guard until I found some of your schluter test videos so I found some all set and going to waterproof tomorrow. I’ve only ever built the pre sloped pan liner styles in the past and 5 years later still no leaks so I’m praying this will hold up. The styrofoam pan is a bit sketchy kind of squishy so I’m going to walk all over it before I tile it and kind of pre compress it and skim the pan with mud before I tile it. Have you ever done anything like that before? I’m going to make a mortar base over the styrofoam, well considering it. I don’t see why that would be a problem and should be able to put the drain in the same location or maybe bring it up a tad bit with the mortar bed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am planning to use the PVC liner, and with the final addition of the mortar bed, should I use stuff like redguard or hydroban on top of the mortar bed before tiling?
Should Pebble tile be sealed? If so what do you suggest that will provide easy cleaning and nonslip surface? A nice shine would be nice also.
How can you reduce the look of the lines between the sheets? When we dry fit our sheets it looks like square grids of stones with lines between them because the sheets don't line up perfectly.
so I have a insert tub thing that has like a two inch formica border ledge around the top of it and I was wondering if i could use like a silcone type of glue to glue pebbles on it then gout it ?
How come it looks like there is rediguared on the back wall and not on the side walls???? ...looks good!
hi isaac what do I need to add first to put the tiles on the shower floor first
Could you cut the edge of the tile to be straight so you dont have to puzzle piece together against the walls?
Great tips, but I cannot find an answer on how much grout to plan for when grouting mosaic pebble tile, any advice.
How do you grout the pebble floor? Would appreciate a demo if you can. Thanks
I just had the pebble floor put in my shower and it is taking some getting use to. I can feel the pebbles on my feet. I had them re-grout the floor and that has helped some. You didn't show how you grout around the pebbles. I still have some dips in my grouting. So it isn't as smooth as I would like. Do you grout up to the pebble edge and make it smooth?
I put these down today I layer a full sheet then pulled it up to check the bond there was not much bond so I pushed em down more but the thinset came up through the joints how thin cam the actual grout be without wearing off
Good job.! Can add a 3/8 of thinset to my bed and then use thinset again to glue my stones if my drain is a little higher than my tile ? Also i i wanna give a little more slope before i put my stones can i use thinset?
Are there any issues to be concerned about regarding how they attach the tile to the mesh that would interfere with tile/thinset bond? Also, can these, or any type of pebble mosaic like these, be used on walls?
Hi, I have a question. I had my bathroom done recently with the same pebble tiles. But the shower is leaking out to the outside floor from inside the shower. At first we thought it was the caulk that was used. That wasn’t it. The leak started again. What was done wrong?
Hello I’m installing the same pebbles and I was wondering will the pebbles get loose if taking of the mesh
Nice work! Thanks for sharing and for sending out the LOVE! My wife and I are building a house now and we'll be putting cut pebble on our master shower floor. A friend of mine said that you must use an epoxy (in lieu of grout); is this true? Thank you in advance!
So I installed a pebble rock bathroom floor but when I grout it you can see the pattern of the 12x12 sheet. How can I place them so I dont see the pattern when I grout it?
Thanks for the video - you make it look so easy. I'd like to use these for a shower floor, and we're thinking of epoxy grout. Does the epoxy grout give the same friction and anti-slip as the cement grout? I saw a video and the guy said you can actually use the epoxy grout to set the tile - is that true? Seems easy to set in slightly thicker epoxy grout and it would just come up in between the pebbles. Would that work?
Hi after tile is laid down and dry do I have to grout the top of tiles also and wipe clean
Hi Isaac. You are doing a really amazing job.
I decided to refresh my kitchen back splash with a river stones. but I don't want to remove existing tile.
what should I use to attach stones to the tile?
my friend recommended to use omni grip for it.
what can you recommend for this project?
thanks in advance .
can this be added in an rv? do you need a flexible adhesive and grout?
Where do you get your pebble tiles? Any recommendations for an installer in MA? thanks!
Was just wondering the ups and downs on using permabase vs duraroc
I wanted to know how you cut the tiles. What tools did you use to make a straight cut on the flat stone? A 4" grinder. Or a Dremel with a small round diamond blade saw?
Great job, Isaac! Will you be doing another video like this soon?
My floor tile is not properly installed so the water is not draining, i want to put pebble over the tiles and make elevations so it will drain faster. How to do this pls
Thanks for all the tips you give us. Do have a link for those tiles you used?
Had 2 pebble stones come out after 10 years. Wanting to put them back in. Do you have a video on just a quick fix of a couple pebbles that came loose and came out of the shower floor?
I’m using pebble on pan as well as walls is it possible to use diamond blade and grinder ?
will this pebble stone be suitable for with a toilet sitting on top of tile ? could I sit toilet on sub floor?
Hello, I absolutely love your videos. I am starting a shower project and decided to use some mosaic pebbles. I’m concerned now about what I have seen about the glue from the mesh causing a failure in the bond with the thinset. What is your experience with this?
do I need to remove old tile from the shower first or can I overlay these on top?
So thank you for showing us how to do this, but I was wondering what I would do after I piece all of them in like you were showing, is there another product like clear coat or something that goes over these pebbles once you have set them all into place? Please reply and thanks again Isaac :)
Can you use Apoxsee grout on the pebbles floor. Or should I just use regular grout. Thank you
How do u know where to set the drain. Just a constant 1/4”-3/8” slope?
hello did you put tile grout after installing the pebbles?
Is it better to lay the cut stones individually or as a the patches? Could the material beneath the sheets somehow cause the tile to be removed later?
Hi. Did you seal the tiles prior to grouting?
Is the grout supposed to be level with the top of the stones? What do you do if there are uneven areas?
what brand thin set did you use?
Hey IO, do you need to put any additives in the grout?
I'm curious what grout you're using on the flat Pebble shower floors
Would like to have seen the grout install. But thanks. I'm doing this for the first time today
Do you put groud on the top to and clean ???
What kind of grout u recommend for pebble?
What are you thoughts on comments about the foam shower pans having a hollow sound. If so, is this enough reason to do a dry pack pan? Thanks so much for your informative videos!
What I do is get a measurement of the whole shower area and and cut off all all my sides at once and then dry set then get my drain and set everything at once
Nice job. I'm getting ready to do my 4x6 walk in shower. The tile is very similar to the one you installed. Its American Oleans Paradise Blend Pebble Mosaic from Lowes. I read some reviews on their website and now I'm very hesitant to buy it. A few reviews said the pebbles had iron around them and was causing rust around the outside of the stone and on the grout. It looked terrible. Can this be prevented? Do you recommend any brand of pebbles? Ty
Hey men,how long it take you to do the floor only?
What's the red sealer called that goes the backer board?
What type of grout do you like?
I liked this
How do you mix the glue for the tile ???
Would these be ok for a Schluter foam pan?
Do you always do wall first
I have honed marble pebble for my shower. My question is, can I cut these on my wet saw, or just shape them on a grinder?
What grout did you use?
I really trust your videos. I took a small bathroom with a tub out and I’m putting in a doorless shower. I’m doing a Schulter remodel. I was on one of your videos, where you were going over and beyond and using the 8plus 9 product. Then I saw the why you don’t use 8plus9 video. I’m putting in a pebble floor. Help me understand what step to do next. Do I put down the 8plus9, on my Schulter pan and drain, use something else, or don’t worry, I am good with the Schulter thinset. ? And put in my pebbles. Or use the Laticrete grout? I’m not sure what grout I have, it was recommended by the tile store. I’ll double check it. 62 yr old homeowner and her 72 yr old wonderful husband tackling this project.
Thank you!!!
When I put mine down I accidentally put the mortar down too thick and pressed the tiles in too deep =/ there's quite a bit of mortar up through where the grout needs to go - is there a fix?
I've never tiled before - we just live somewhere we can't get a contractor =/
What kind of grout do you use in the shower with these pebble floors. I saw you had a problem with a prior installation with a Custom Building Products grout.
