This is the bathroom job we hired Isaac and his crew to do for us. I was very, very happy with the entire experience - from the moment we met him at his store for the consultation through the job's completion. He and the crew were also great with the tenant (and the good boi who napped throughout the work). Most of all, you can see how fantastic the work is. I highly recommend Isaac and his team.
The large shower in our house failed. We purchased the custom-built house from the homeowner which was the custom builder. The tile installation looked almost perfect, but after the failure I found the shower liner cut in the corners with roofing nails into studs and nails in the curb! My background is electrical contracting, electrical and architectural engineering, not a tile guy. That being said, I redone the master bath myself because I didn't want problems where a contractor cut corners or was clueless, especially another shower fail disaster. I didn't want to attempt installing a typical shower pan with liner and have issues in the future, so I ordered a custom size Tile Redi shower pan with linear drain, a little expensive being a larger custom size but man, what a piece of mind! Have not installed the wall board or tile yet but installed the pan a couple weeks ago, that pan is very solid. The rest of the bath construction has gone perfect, little nervous about doing the tile but at least I know what will be behind the tile and I feel pretty good about everything, thanks to Isaac's videos.
35 years doing bathrooms and kitchens I only use tile ready have been catching your channel from time to time I would say to my self all this work to build a pan when you can order in advance ship to your home or shop with no chance of leeks .as a senior getting close to stopping Get into kitchens 💰💰💰too🇺🇸
Thanks you for all the great videos Isaac. I've been a contractor for 30 years and still learn from them. Keep up your efforts. It is obvious you have a good soul. So nice to see today.
You are badass ! Thanks for taking the time and producing these videos for us to watch and learn. I've been watching your bathroom remodel videos closely for a while now and with great detail in mind .I 'm currently doing my second bathroom which is my master bath. curbless shower and heated floor, using the Schluter System using all porcelain tile. heated bidet, heated mirror, rain shower head from the ceiling. Thank for what you do !!!
FINALLY ANOTHER TILE GUY UNDERSTANDING HOW BAD SCHLUTER SUBSTRATES ARE FOR FLOORS. I've been screaming this from the beginning. I have used Tile-redi and was also impressed and I would not be concerned about longevity.
It was your videos that lead me to tileredi. As a DIY'r using products on my own house, speed of installation and wrapping up projects in a few days is not a factor. I just want a product line that's going to work, i had absolutely no trust in some of the other products out there and your tests proved that. Went with Tileredi and glad to see it in your vid's. Great channel!
This was extremely helpful! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! I'm getting ready to put my pebble stone down soon, and this is looking like the method I'll be using. It's my own home, and I'm a DIY person, so anything I can find will help. Thanks again!
Thanks for the video! They have helped tremendously on my bathroom Remodel. Bought my first house and flip at 19 a few months ago with no knowledge on how to do it I just know I’m going to do it haha, now I’m ready to tackle the bathroom since I’m feeling confident in the tile redi system. I’m new to all of this so you’re videos are definitely very helpful thank you!!
Appreciate your video's now for several year's...this product I think I will use on a second floor remodel the only hesitation i have is the mortar set and the weight, along with the measuring of the drain pipe coming up from the floor, I believe you said an inch and 3/8 to make a good contact with the pan, brother thank you again keep up the great work.
Been following all your videos and nothing has failed! about to start my pebble tile today after testing my dry pack Hydroban sealed shower floor.....which passed with zero leaks! I'm a sheet metal worker doing his own plumbing (which I hate doing) but been in construction since the 90's so it's just another day at the "office". I just over think everything that isn't sheet metal, and worry about failure. Follow all of Issacs steps and techniques and you shouldn't go wrong... Everything has worked flawless so far.....now I jinxed it! LOL
Bookmarking this video for our shower renovation next spring. The Redi system looks solid, and I think my wife would be thrilled if we can get a pebble base like the one you're installing. Thank you for the great videos!
A similar way to do what you did with layout, is to make a pan template! Rip 1/8" utility plywood into about 1" strips. Get a hot glue gun and create a template of the whole shower pan (including the drain). Then just take your template over to the tiles laid out on the floor. Trace the template and cut the lines :) What I like about doing it this way, is you can shift the template over the tiles, and find the most symmetrical layout, as well as the least amount of cuts/slivers.
I have always used this method for pebble tile, except I dry set them in the pan, cutting them to fit. I then take them up and lay them together as they would go in the pan and set then install them like you did.
I have TileRedi pan. It is one of the easiest options for DIYers. Put mortar underneath to fill the void as recommended. Inspector didn’t do a fill test when he saw that it’s one solid piece of shower pan.
LOVE this shower pan & wall system! I currently have a composite pan & shower walls as I never trusted any of the systems out there, but this one I am very confident in. I hope it's available here in Canada so I can finally have a tiled shower!
This is great. I like the idea of pre-cutting the pebbles outside, but can you put the link to the full installation video. I would love to see how you installed the shower pan. Thank you
The pebbles look cool, but that Redi system is 😲 I had to completely replace 90 percent of the joists and floor under my master bathroom due to the previous install leaking since the 50's (way before I bought the house) I've been sitting with an empty master bath for soooo long because I'm terrified of leaking tile systems destroying it again. One piece, and practically unbreakable... This Redi system looks like it's the way to go for me.
Correct, Tile Redi makes life easier, I see you have been watching my videos. LOL. A screw will puncture the foam base if you step on it the right way. I try to keep my base as clean as possible. It's a great product that I've been using for years. Glad that Tile Redi got Tile coach to try out their product.
I am at the beginning stage of gaining the courage to redo our downstairs shower. It is currently a crappy fiberglass stall. I want to make it longer (it is currently 34" square and I want to extend wall and make it at least 42") and was worried about getting a pan with the hole in the right place as I am NOT interested in jack hammering the floor and moving the drain. I am either going to do the dry pack (cheaper) or order a custom pan from the link in your description. I have subscribed and plan on watching many more videos. I may even sign up for a class or two.
I’ve wondered why these pebble sheets aren’t installed that way all the time. Figured it was because I’m not a pro. I just didn’t get it or something. Looks good from my house!
I picked up a good tip years ago from my old employer for cutting river rocks. Place an old tile on top of the river rocks as close to the blade as possible leaving room for your pencil line to be seen. As you guide the river rocks through the blade keep pressure on the tile with one hand. This helps to minimize the rocks movement and helps to produce a straight cut. On a side note, does this guy ever wear eye protection when he makes cuts?
What I do is have a piece of goboard that I lay on the tray (with pebble on top) and raise the blade up.. a little easier I think? Just trying to help!!!!
I love your work. It is very much detail-oriented. How do I know if I need epoxy or thinnest. My tile redy shower base was installed a year ago, but only now the tiles be installed. Also, do you buy separately spacers for the drain or it was included into the kit. Please, show video how you cut tiles and tiling walls. I am looking forward to it.
I want that small grinder peanut wheel set up. Enlighten me. Tip : use that blue painters tape and run strips across the tile mats before you pick them up. way easier and there not so loose goosy as you try and lay them

I started to get a rash on my left hand but then hair started growing in as well all throughout the bottom of my palm….. But I’m in my 60s now & I’ve been “tiling” since my teens 😂
Thanks Coach. I needed this video. Doing almost the same install with a 42x60 Redi-Trench pan and black sliced pebble tile for the floor. Just about ready to get the mortar bed poured but I’m a bit worried about not getting the spaces between the ribs and especially the curb 100% full of mortar. Any tips on how to make sure I’m not leaving any empty spaces underneath the pan ?
Super useful videos. I one question. I am doing a flat pebble tile backsplash in the kitchen, and am trying to understand which grout type to use. Sanded or Un-Sanded? most of the points are between 1/4 and 1/8, but there are areas that have larger. Which should I use?
Just template it (drain in place) with drywall shims and hot glue… lay it all out and trace it onto the stone. So fast. (Especially helpful for after walls are set if you do it that way)

Isaac. Is it possible to use Greenboard with the tile redi shower pan? If so, how would you interface where the two meet? I would waterproof the Greenboard of course. Or would Go Board be better? Thanks.
How do you feel about the adhesion of the thinset to the pan and walls. I'm considering moving over from traditional pvc liner showers because this just looks much faster and pretty fool proof. Hey Coach, how do you re-grout pebbles when they get grungy? With square or rectangular tiles, you can scrape or grind out the old grout; but irregular tiles, this isn't so easy.

so if you have a linear drain thats away from the side wall and also away from the ends like in your video and you make a one plane pitch from both parallel walls, will the little ends automatically drain? i know the main pitch will drain but concerned on the little ends of drain, draining away from wall. im doing a floor similiar but with a dry pack and a 2x4 inch sheet tile, like little picket tiles but on a mesh . its a concrete recessed shower floor, so the plumber already did the hole in slab and clients dont want to move it. my drain will be away from side wall like 12 inches and the width of line drain is 24 inches sitting in a 40 inch wide shower.. any thoughts?

Do you know what pebble stone he used here? I’m trying to find it for my own shower.

I am amazed how clean you remain- my shorts are caked in mud after tiling a few rows - lol
Another good video. Right on!
I always like watching them before bed.
It’s soothing
Love your attention to detail. Wish I could find someone in my town who does work this good.

Isaac, I’ve been told that only epoxy thinset should be used for pebbles like these because the pebbles are held to the mesh by an epoxy type resin. How do you feel about the adhesion of the thinset to the pan and walls. I'm considering moving over from traditional pvc liner showers because this just looks much faster and pretty fool proof. We've tested a few that we recommend for the best adhesion, you can review them on the installation instructions found on our website.

Hey Coach, how do you re-grout pebbles when they get grungy? With square or rectangular tiles, you can scrape or grind out the old grout; but irregular tiles, this isn't so easy.
Honestly you don't.

Do you remember how many inches off the wall the drain is? The standard 3" or was it customized to a different length off the wall?
so if you have a linear drain thats away from the side wall and also away from the ends like in your video and you make a one plane pitch from both parallel walls, will the little ends automatically drain? i know the main pitch will drain but concerned on the little ends of drain, draining away from wall. im doing a floor similiar but with a dry pack and a 2x4 inch sheet tile, like little picket tiles but on a mesh . its a concrete recessed shower floor, so the plumber already did the hole in slab and clients dont want to move it. my drain will be away from side wall like 12 inches and the width of line drain is 24 inches sitting in a 40 inch wide shower.. any thoughts?
Which brand of penetrating sealer would you recommend the most for natural stone like these?
