thanks to a gamer I talked to he suggest your video for me with a thrustmaster trs300 gt edition. This settings was the best for me to be able to drive in dirt rally 2.0.. Thanks for sharing mate!
I have a T-150 steering wheel and pedals and just want to say both 290 and or 540 plus in game settings for DR2 are perfect. Big thumbs up man, thx for your advice :)
I adjusted almost similar settings without seeing the video, i also like less force for centering or friction. I keep them moderate for long sessions, thx.
Hi Jon, please don't take this comment negatively I'm just trying to be helpful... "Soft lock... don't really worry about that leave it standard"... I don't think you know what it does do you? If you did you wouldn't have adjusted the degree's of rotation in the control panel. Search "Dirt Rally soft lock" and look it up, it's one of the best and most important features of this game from a realism point of view! DOR should be set to the maximum your wheel base can do (or at the very least 900 degrees) for soft lock to work well. Hope this helps some people :) Karl
I know exactly what it does. Soft lock adjusts your max DOR according to the real car so it always matches up. But I personally prefer to stick to one DOR for the majority of my driving instead of readjusting my muscle memory for every car. Most modern cars are below 540 so I never go above this. Really depends if you are after authenticity or speed, if it’s for speed, you are best to adjust DOR manually IMO as excessive DOR is what beginners or intermediate players struggle with the most.
@@JonArmstrongRallying oh ok I'm glad you do know mate, would of been handy to explain this to others to give them the option to use it or not. The way you have it setup there it's still adjusting your DOR on a per car basis but within the limit you set in the control panel so it's still not fixed.... you'd need to turn it off for that. But yes fixing it will make you faster at the cost or realism and removing some of the experience of driving different cars.... personal preference mate :)
Thanks for this JA, what a difference turning the FFB settings makes on T300. On default (100) it *does* feel like the car is driving YOU. thank you thank you 🙏
Great FFB settings but personally i use Wheel friction 20-30 because this game doeant simulate wheel friction depending the speed of the car or the type of assist of the wheel for example electic , hydraulic or not at all. For example Mini in real life is very stiff at low speed and light on high speeds some other modern cars with assist they are light on low speeds and stiff at higher speeds. And because of that i bealieve 20-30 is something in the Middle.
Felt very vauge for me. Steering too fast and ffb very light. No input from the road or car.. I personally like feeling like I'm doing rally not flying an airplane. Each to their own tho
Perfect! Thank you for the vid. Maybe you can upgrade to a better mic for next video, would improve the quality a lot. But other than that pretty awesome content the last weeks.
@@JonArmstrongRallying Not really into it, sorry. I know that Rode does some great gear but it might be a bit pricey. Hi @JonArmstrongRallying, late to the party. I have a t300rs and your settings feel good, albeit a little "light". Now, your ts-xw afaik has more torque than a t300, like 6nm vs 4. Does it make sense to increase your values times 1.5 then, or does FFB in dr2 not work in such a linear way? Cheers
great video. now at least i know im not alone, lol. lately ive been lowering my ffb quite a lot. currently have sat on about 30, friction about 2, the others about 20 or so. much easier now. not as immersive though, i dont feel as much through my wheel (g29) but before the wheel was just too hard to turn fast. i get pain in my left shoulder though which is why i have it so low, would have it a bit higher otherwise.
Kinda late reply lol but just watched this vid lol and I think the settings you need on G27 is much different from this. I use 200 degree steering and 100% self align, 100% suspension, 10% wheel friction and 50% tyre friction and the rest default. I find with such weak ffb you need the self align torque to actually feel how the car is moving and with higher wheel totation degrees (i started out with 540) the ffb is too weak to align the wheel if you quickly get oversteer or similar and you won't correct in time
@@jamesi2018 he goes full lock, clicks the button, then goes 90 degrees from what is his neutral position. At that point the game tells you what your max rotation would be, in his case 290 degrees. Since he knows that his max is 290 because he set it in the Thrustmaster Control Panel he sets it by going for that number. It is exactly the same as 90 degrees from neutral - except he isnt guessing it.

So my comment is about Dirt Rally 1 with Thrustmaster t300 GT. I've tried everything, but the FFB is just too light for me whatever setting I use on whatever surface of road I drive on. It's really easy to turn the wheel and I don't feel anything when the car slips and stuff. It's really hard to describe it exactly, but it's light, but sometimes it just dips for no reason with full force. I just want the FFB to be stronger. It doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the wheel as it works perfectly on every other game. Could someone help me? Thanks^^
Hi Jon, I use G29 and to comply with other sims I play I don’t want to adjust its rotation angle, so i set saturation about 33% in DR2; hoping it is same thing with setting it to 300 within Logitech application. Is this logically and practically true?
I got my ts-pc today, with Iracing, Raceroom and AC it's amazing, SO much better than my G29. But I tried these settings in DR2 and I hardly feel any ffb.. is it normal that you hardly feel ffb or am I doing something wrong maybe?
Sally driving you can't less ffb, you don't want the car driving you. In road racing you want more ffb so you hold the line. Rally is more about whipping the car.
@@voltage80x That is entirely wrong, a rally is not about whipping the car plus your steering strength would never genuinely change just because of surface changes, so changing ffb would be nonsensical between two different surfaces.
