bro, video is perfect, organized in chapters and using arch +i3, you have my respect! :) the only thing I missed was a demonstration of how the manga/comic look like on the kindle screen, I don't have one because i'm trying to figure out if it is worth to buy for manga and light novels so it would be nice to see the final result and think if it is good or not.
@@osm1223 nah, I ended up buying an e-reader from other brand like Onyx Boox, got an Meebook P78, which is a Chinese e-reader, but an Onyx Boox or Pocketbook would have done the same, just got it because getting any of the other I mentioned would be a pain to ship to my stupid ass country.
@@EricMurphyxyz it's an extra step but it seems to work - just tried it with a bunch of old magazines (National Lampoon, Omni and Famous Monsters of Filmland) and converting straight from Calibre makes a mess of them but - cbr to Epub with KCC then epub to mobi on Calibre works a charm (so far anyway). @@abc98114 perhaps it's subjective to the file, I've had no issues with this yet - it could just be a warning and not an absolute, like a disclaimer. Anyway, you can experiment as the original file reamins intact - if there's an issue only the copy will be corrupt, not the original. A little trial and error won't hurt. Good luck!

Hi!, I have some cbr files that when I convert them to mobi with caliber there are white margins that cover the images, I have the paperwhite 11, which is larger than the previous ones, but it seems that I was taking it for the smallest screen size of the kindle, since the image remains in the middle and the white cutouts around it, with some sleeves that I have directly in mobi this does not happen, they are like expanded to fill the space, does this solve that?
@@EricMurphyxyz Yeah I tried that.. And the image comes out the wrong size 🥲 I also tried to put custom width and height but that didn't work either. I just gave up at this point 😂
@@kriziasalvador5777 the width and height should be in pixels, you can find the exact amount on wikipedia's "amazon kindle" page. I did this for my paperwhite 11 and the images fit the screen perfectly
I've been using this method and it works really well. The only thing that annoys me is that it change the author metadata as KCC, I know it doesn't affect anything but it's just so annoying to me lol. I wonder if you know how to fix it
I don't think there's an easy way to do it unfortunately. There's some documentation here about adding metadata via a tool like ComicTagger, I haven't used it personally, but you could give it a try: github.com/ciromattia/kcc/wiki/ComicRack-metadata
KCC never works properly for me. It crops the images and zooms them in to fit the kindle display regardless of which setting I choose which causes the image to stretch horribly on certain pages.
I had the same issue. You have to go to Finder, click Applications, and find KCC. Right click the application and select "open" in the pop up menu. That will allow you to open the KCC app. Hope this helps!

Well I’ve figured out how to download KCC now, it’s moreso trying to download kindlegen and connecting it to KCC so that I’m able to successfully download manga🥹 do you know what that problem maybe?

What I do see is there is a “kindlegen” application in the files, but I don’t know where to go from there, I’m not sure how to add the kindlegen application to the KCC application
Calibre always gives me some weird error when I try to do anything with manga, just converting a EPUB manga file to MOBI made every other page blank, that's why it's better to use KCC for everything

i'm still stumped cause i want to use this for comics and normally i use Calibre for my books i never did find anything else other than that to use online until recently i only learned of this and kindlegen does not open on my PC at all the app doesn't open i download it and it just closes on me
You're not supposed to open kindlegen, you're supposed to either drag it into the Kindle comic creator folder in program files (Windows) or add it to your PATH variable. KCC should then work properly

By all means support the mangaka if you can, but many out of print comics/manga are simply not on amazon. It can be used for piracy but it's not the only use

More videos on Linux coming soon. For the pacman and ghosts, I think there's a setting in pacman.conf you can change. Finally for alacritty, are you sure there aren't other colors in the config file that are overriding my theme?

Worked great thanks! One tip, convert these files to EPUB then add to Calibre and then convert to MOBI - works like a charm!

In the 'Important Tips' page it says "Don't convert files created by KCC with Calibre! Any conversion process will corrupt the file!".

Try the PW 5th generation preset, not 100% sure but it should be the same

what device do you have? if you have a paperwhite 2021 for example you need to pick "other" as the device and enter the custom resolution of 1236x1648

Hi! I am not able to open KCC on my Mac. It says that it cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. IS there any way to fix this?
I'm not sure, you would probably have to change some security settings to allow running apps from unknown developers

Does anyone know how to do this if your device isn't there? For example, Kobo Libra 2?
I would assume you find the device with the most similar screen resolution and use that.

You're not supposed to run kindlegen, just put in the Kindle Comic Converter folder and then run KCC
