That beef noodle soup was tops, especially with the "silver shin" slices. You have the gift of finding these places. I'm surprised because Don Mueang was where I landed in and left from Thailand back in the day, but I thought it had been closed down after the new airport was up and running. I'm salivating for a soup like that beef, and I also loved your day with Adam and OTR and the boat noodles (that coffee shop was just like a clip from my memory). Glad to have your videos here, where it's close to freezing outside, snow flurries, and not where I'd like to be at the moment.
It did close down for a bit I think Willie but it’s been the domestic and low cost international airport for years now. I much prefer it to Suvarnabhumi. My uncle and auntie visited and they remember the old terminal which is now part of the car park area
I am NEVER bored with hearing you talk about khao soi. I've only had it ONCE in America. One time. Why? It's rare. I tried to eat a ton of it when I lived in Chiang Mai, but there ARE limits haha Keep giving us the khao soi, please!
yeah you gotta find a really authentic thai restaurant in america that makes it authentic thai style. pro tip dont go for the laos version of khao soi either (my personal experience), but who knows you might like that kind but if i'm being honest i cant tell a laos version of khao soi to regular pho.......... i agree with you i cant get enough of khao soi so i will click.
I enjoy all of your content, and it's very helpful info for our Thailand visits - we would love to see 24hrs at Don Mueang! My wife, daughter and I were just traveling the region in November and had 3 Don Mueang stopovers. We always want to make more of our layover time in Bangkok (we typically spend our time elsewhere when visiting Thailand), especially when it comes to food. I take my family to eat wherever you (and where Mickey Stotch and Adam from OTR) recommend we eat - thank you for the content, Gary!
Hello Gary ! I like the Don Mueng Airport and the area, as you promise us, there is really a lot of delicious food-stalls👍! I"m a little bit envious to see you eating all the best Thai food and always find lovely vendors, lol ! but soon I will be in TH ,14. Jan❤for 2 month😊👍I will visit some of your places in BKK ! Btw. my partner and me missed once our flight bec. of traffic disaster😂was very annoying !
We’re watching this at a hotel room in the Sukhumvit 19 area of Bangkok and are actually contemplating on heading over there😂😂😂 The soups look so good and we’re starving 😱😱😱🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing this video Gary 🙏🏼
Heading to DMK tomorrow Gary 👍🏼 Will give this a bash buddy. Then off to Daradalay for some more Khao soi 👌🏼 I'll ping those Chiang Mai gems over to you soon
Hi Gary, is there any way to recognise before going into restaurants whether the beef noodle can be sweet (like boat noodles, dark soup colour with star anise), or beef noodle like this? (I assume this is like Nai Soie Beef Noodle near Khao San road you recommended before - and I loved it!) I’m not a big fan of those sweet noodle soup, so I’m always scared to order “beef noodle” 😓
Gary, after Arrivals and Exiting Don Mueang DMK Airport, there’s a very spicy southern Thai restaurant you must try! พี่ตุ่ม อาหารปักษ์ใต้ เจ้เล้งดอนเมือง, P. Tum Southern Thai Food, across the Soi from Jae Leng Don Mueang, 40/47 ซ, Vibhavadi Rangsit Rd, Si Kan, Don Mueang, Bangkok 10210. 🌶️🤤😋🥵
Asia flies International flights out of Don Mueang Airport, all over SE Asia and beyond, its their Thai hub, I always fly to India from here in and out, Air Asia arrives at 6:00 AM daily from one part of India, and there are atleast 6 or 7 other locations over the day just from India, so I have hit the SRT several times, and that early the Food court is shut. Great Video Sir Gary.
Pho dominates here in the States. The only place you can find good legit Thai noodles would be at the Thai temple on the weekends. Agree , Boat noodles and thai beef noodles > pho and I like pho.
@theroamingcook Agree. 😁 Houston Texas has the largest Vietnamese community. Even downtown street signs are in Vietnamese. The food is fantastic. It's the next best thing to visiting Vietnam itself. It's 3 hours from me vs 30 hours to Vietnam or Thailand.
Gary have you ever eaten a fried or grilled whole fish? I don't believe you did. You've got hundreds of viedos and not one whole fish... There were some parts of fish in khao tom, curry..., but otherwise.... You've evvn eaten khao soi on a fish market :)
@@theroamingcook You've found one, good stuff. Let's call it exception to the rule :) But you've got me there.... there is a fish after all :) I didn't find it. Thanks. Might even go there and try it in January. Can't wait.
You incredibly have deep and thorough knowledge about Thai food. Awesome.
Thanks so much, that means a lot
Airport tips 😀 good stuff Gary. Never fed up of watching Khoi soi vids
Cheers Roy mate, got another airport vid out tomorrow 😅

Haven’t tuned in idk how long and your Thai has MASSIVELY improved!
Cheers mate, it’s still not great but we’re getting there 😂

Definitely get the beef soup, that’s the winner!

@@theroamingcook I'm sure it will. I'm actually flying through DMK from both Penang and Luang Prabang, so my itinerary is pretty much only eating.

Is there any shrimp paste or oyster sauce in the curry?
I’m 99 percent sure that there’s not but I’ll double check. Are you ok with fish sauce?
