Despite being yet another survival game, this is a very interesting one. The theme seems fresh enough that it makes me interested, and if the movement and combat is as good or even better than Battlerite, the game is on its way to be fantastic!

nothing ? apart from the weird battle royale they made that divided the playerbase battlerite was already low on players much before that, its the same issue with arena fps like quake its a niche genre and players simply dont like it as much anymore.

For a survival game, the gameplay looks absolutely amazing! Plan to play this on my steam deck when I get it since it probably won't be on console for a long time if ever.
This looks really good, i am really liking the PVE content they seem to be pushing and honestly makes me even more excited for PVP content as all the abilities shown look really good.
As long as you don't split the player base in two in a money hungry gambit and then abandon the game, it looks fine to me.

@@joaopc94 funny thing is they do spend a lot on youtubers and streamers, big names like tyler1 and more did play battlerite it just didnt keep player retention. The genre is too niche, most people merely saw it as a mode for an actual game sadly

OSRS... How you see that is beyond me. This just looks like an ARPG. As much as I will always love Runescape, to say this resembles it is a huge slight to it. OSRS is ugly as shit and a grid based java game. If anything this looks like Torchlight 2 with slightly better and more modern lighting.

The mix of open world, survival, PvE exciting challenges is all I love.
I always would a hack and slash with polished fighting that is not beat them all oriented, but mostly boss fights oriented, where your attacks are heavy and not frenetic like in every diablo like where u have way too many dashes, way too many speed, way too fast attacks.
Really excited for it.
some times slowing down the combat gameplay/rate of attacks can be a great thing huh. I'm all for tactical combat as well.

Agreed, the only battle royal I enjoyed - infested with bots now. The arena is still fun, but some long-term goals are missing, like cool skins and weapons obtainable through achievements and rank.
They are doing it, by reskinning it and adding sketchy mechanics to sell it as a completely "new" game. These devs are something else.
@@AK-og6hn And that arena brawler is a one of a kind game with practically no competition. They had players' feedback, ideas and they also needed to put a little heart into it and it would be a lot better. They could capitalize on this concept (by learning mistakes from their previous arena brawler that they also abandoned - Bloodline Champions), but they wanted to go the easy route and milk the battle royale genre, that everyone and their grandparents wanted to try back then. It backfired hard, so now they're reskinning Battlerite with some new mechanics to milk more people, and judging by the views of this trailer and how many people are clueless about this studio, they will. They've literally scraped another game that was in the works before this thing, it's like they have no clue what they want to do with their company anymore. This game will share the same fate with all their other games, that is getting abandoned shortly after milking as many players as possible.

Most of the well-known game companies follow the same pattern. Sad to see that even indie and small developers go in the same direction. Because of those skin-filled, cash-grabbing, addictive gambling game mechanics, I have not purchased a video game for a long time.
I'm tired of being scammed by gaming companies and vicious, shameless marketing departments.
Never Preorder is my policy now. And I won't even consider paying for the game without a Demo or money-back guarantee if the promise is in dissonance with the delivery.
The time of milking gamers and turning them into addicts must come to an end.

I was rank 15 when it came out and stayed "on the top" of the leaderboard for quite a while after ranked was implimented but it gets SO stale if there is no proper base to drive new metas and stuff
Pestilus every game isnt fun it wouldnt even be fun if he was bad but balancing obv also isnt a thing anymore when the game is abandoned.
I am just happy to see that the people who created something that gave me a THOUSAND hours of joy got to stick to their profession and are still in dev.

Stunlock Studios is in my top most favorite team of devs. Their work is always incredible and innovating, their balance team, sound design and almost every other team involved in making their amazing titles with an exception of their marketing team is phenomenal. I really hope this hits a good audience and keeps player retention, I'd hate to see another one of their masterpieces fall by the wayside.

Just face it, high mechanical skill games are a niche now , lets hope this one does good since it does have the survival aspect which is very popular and there arent many games that do it right.
@@johnyboy3454 League had runes, masteries, 30 times the champions, tons of end of season rewards, missions, battle passes, champion mastery, account level, endless skins, etc. to work towards throughout its life so far and most of those progression features are still around. Players need to always have things they are progressing on to feel like they are getting extra value out of their time spent playing a game, especially a competitive one, because when you lose a match you invested a lot of energy and time into it really helps to soften the frustration to see that you unlocked something or at least made solid progress to unlock something.

they did it to themselves by releasing their battleroyale as a second game instead of an addon to the first and splitting their playerbase.
I wish Battlerite would've gotten more popular , and i don't know why it didn't
if you didnt play from the early acces you probably wouldnt know, but they just blow the game themselve, with bad decisions, they took too much time listening feedback of the comunity to change the game while at the same time they started advertising their game for the official release, everyone was hype and all, but the moment the game was about to be release they chickened out and decided to delay for a good 6 month to completly refine the game, bot visual and gameplay, hype fell off and everyone forget the game with disapointment, they missed the train.
And its all on their own fault, someone who is in charge at SLS needs to grow a pair and take solid and firm decisions

Simple, this time dont put money in the game to teach them, i bought early access for BTR, i dont regret it, it was a blast, but SLS needs to learn how to be consistant so, i'll wait the game is free to play it, have my fun if it is, and if they let it die like allways fine, i had my fun for free and fuck it

first the price isnt too high, like 15-20$ MAX
Then i know someone that may be interesting in playing it, and as the gamme seems cooperative, why not.
And either way, playing it in group or solo i would wait a bit anyway, probably check some stream and so to really see the game live before considering buying it myself, i dont want to have bad surprise.
Then even if the game leave for 1 year, or so, as long as its ok and i could have a bit of fun ok why not, but again the price better be not high

This looks really cool, but im curious how you guys will solve issues other similar games have had! Can our base get raided while offline? Do we drop gear on dying? Clans are limited to 4 players but whats stopping clans from teaming up and dominating the server?
I love survival games but these issues have always left a sour taste and i really hope there will be some cool systems to keep the game fun!
I think for most of it, a game will be like a BR, look hos fast you can build your base and so, you probably go for a game that will last ~30minutes or so, i dont think the game is suposed to be a massive MMO with a persistant world and so
@@Shiirya I see what you mean! that would be cool, but in the dev blog they mention that its a "open-world survival game" and that you build crafting stations and a clan castle to store supplies in. So i just assumed it was like rust/ark/valheim/new world type of deal

But open world just means that you are not limited to an arena, like a dota like or BTR or so. I mean a game like warcraft or starcraft are kinda open world, you have a whole map to explore move and do stuff.
The key word is "persistant" and to know if the game will have persistant map or not, but i dont see much how its possible, and if so what is the point of the gameplay
same thing that stops clans in rust, community servers and yes you drop gear on dying, thats the whole point and it adds a thrill thats not found in any other genre.

After Battlerite, an Action RPG seems like a logical thing to make.
The building aspects are probably not gonna be very fun and the whole Vampire thing is a little bit overdone... I really hope, i can at least create a cute vampire girl.
I think if you guys made a hard Action RPG, with counter/battlerite mechanics, you would hit a goldmine... though that is probably a lot more work.
