I'd say that Deepwoken's balancing is horrible for all ends of the player base. PvE is the best way to get loot which disincentivize PvP. Half of the PvE bosses aren't even worth fighting in a playthrough. Voidwalking feels like shit, being voidwalked feels like shit. Then the skill gap between new players and veteran players leads to the softening of the game. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but through the softening the game loses its original vision. Deepwoken is actively contradicting itself. Deepwoken has fundamentally changed from verse 1. Deepwoken now has a different appeal to a different audience which leads people being upset no matter what. At this point, the developers need to decide on their vision and stick with it. Securing grips in ganks definitely the biggest agony ever. Its even worse when theres a high agility talent for trackstar saving that lets you tp from miles away to carry someone and runs off into the sunset, never to be seen again till you knock someone.
The swapping in and out is so true dawg, like I was getting ganked by KB and gates of babylon on my silentheart petras slot, and it was utter pain I pieced them up consistently while at one bar and they kept going to the nomad campfire (which you cannot break for some fucking reason) and it kept going on like this until I died and got voidzoned by 4 monkeys saying ez on my corpse
4:25 to 4:47 was so absolutely fuckin real, like what are we even doing anymore trial of one --> hive --> boss --> bell --> well done the game is over hope you had fun playing!! you can skip out on literally every single island besides hive, a few months ago you would AT LEAST go erisia and then hive, but after the early-game pve buffs you can just skip erisia entirely and now early-game is literally non-existent
i dont think a lot of people went to erisia a few months ago other than doing duke or trying to get a gale stone, maybe for new players yeah but most ppl just went to song or depths after to1
for me usually it depends on what power im supposed to use shrine of order at, usually if its more than power 11, i just go trial of one --> hive --> songseeker --> boss --> bell BUT if its something like power 10 i can just farm songseeker and not have to go all the way back to hive, i think the main issue is that hive literally eclipses every other island just by existing want fast travel? got it, want loot? got it, want progress? got it
when the game had 5000 players around pre layer 2 is when this game was hardcore. Slowly its become a casual game with more casual players. Playercount reflects that too with a nice average of 15k. but is it good for the game 🧐 i think not personally
leveling has become more streamlined and easy mostly because the community kept complaining about how long it took to max a build. Now there are tons of shortcuts for levels oaths and i think its mostly the players fault as we wanted less grinding. As for the pvp it is indeed burnt.
"Let them quit." Dan, I want as many people playing this game as possible, not less people. If the early game gets easier so be it. If the voidwalkers can no longer target new players than so be it. All I want is this game to be better for the majority, even if that majority aren't speaking up. PVP is cool, but it aint allat. PVE, whether it be more bosses, new monsters, new islands, or and a new layer. We need more PVE. PVP is kinda fucked right now though. Mantras are too much, I agree. Too many mantras are unreactable, and too many mantras do half a bar or more. Some oath mantras need some heavy nerfs, and some attunements need to be out right nerfed all across the board(ironsing). But the thing that drives people into the game isn't just PVP or ganks, it's the openworld PVE. And we need the Ignition Union Origin.
So I have taken a 3 - 6 month break from the game due to my own problems with it. And I came back two days ago, I don't know why but the pvp felt even more stale to me. Deepwoken's combat to me still feels like a shell if anything, yet it has everything. The game has a consistent parry, great defensive options, a vent/evasive and is overall consistent in its framework. So it may just be burnout still.
I took a year break from the game, came back, conquest STILL isn't done, combat strayed even further from how fun it feels to feint parry and dodge, and mantras feel so much more toxic to fight against. We used to use mantras to land our m1's, now we use our m1's and 3 dozen feints to run down the hotbar of mantras.
Deepwoken was cooked from the start (the game has never been about getting better it was about finding the cheese build of the moment, now it just got easier because devs stopped thinking about game design and just threw random shit in weeklies)
deep needs to finally start adding actual rewards for being ranked in stuff like guild rankings and chime. cool custom reskinned weapons or cool cosmetics would definitely make it more enjoyable and worth while
The devs should 100% be catering to new players (somewhat). Tons of people want to pick up the game but dont know how or where to start. If these new people get into the game, then later on you'll have people to actually pvp against instead of the same metamancing minmaxing builds that pros have been perfecting combat with since they started playing. The early cc hardcore RL and Deep was cool and I enjoyed it but its time to let that shit go lmao. Shouldnt be too hard to keep the difficulty balance without stonewalling new players.

It has seriously been a chore to voidwalk nowadays. Keep in mind, I don't play it like a ganker and go absolutely crazy on a guy as soon as I spawn in but will usually just approached them and challenge them for role play purposes cuz why not. Most of the time, they log like it's rogue which I honestly don't understand since death doesn't really do anything other than send you to the depths or interrupt a bit of what you are doing and I pretty much tell people every time I fight them that I just want to run the 1s, no grip cuz at max ur not gonna get anything from taking the grip.
It's because the new player experience of going to depths and the scariness of the RNG as a new player is a dissuader or consequence that the player doesn't want to take. I started playing about a week ago and I've finally gotten killing most of the depths enemies down but I think a lot of people forget the freshie experience and even the first or second time being higher level is horrifying. I remember being terrified when I first saw a enforcer in the trial lol If it were up to me, I would make it to where a voidwalker pops a "chime-like domain" on the player in question to force a 1v1 with the conquences being more like chime than an overworld death. That would make it to where it's encouraged to learn as the new player and satisfy the voidwalker with a pure 1s... unless you're a ganking voidwalk type of player and idk what to tell them. Luckily for me the game is fresh but I can see how it'll get stale quickly if a lot of issues are not addressed. Edit: half the time the freshie doesn't even know how to get out of the depths, had to teach quite a few friends that LOL

Having a new player depths by voidwalkers when they don't even know what bounties are is discouraging in I think the wrong ways/"toxic" ways for many players. I wouldn't really see it as handholding to be forced into a 1v1 as the player can equally enlist the help of their max level friend and ruin the voidwalkers experience. I think a lot of the time the small details like this are what causes quitter moments and makes a user go screw it not going to bother learning compared to "I'm bad and I'm losing but I have a chance and I'll get better." I put much more weight on the actual fight/combat and not so much the punishment when it comes to difficulty, and I think a lot of players hopping in seem to feel similar as there is constant videos expressing the new player experience is really bad, leading to no influx of players. The current system promotes people just logging/quitting after everything, which defeats the purpose of all of this. No one wins when everyone logs at every fight.

Something really sad is to even gank you're gonna need a build that's built exactly for it rather than just some average good pvp build unless you're fighting fodder, and most of the time you're gonna need kamui to even catch up to players unless you're jet striker

i think part of it is also because every item is too easy to obtain. Back in the day 👴🏾 if someone dropped a deep gem or enchant it'd be like you hit a jackpot but now there's nothing to care about. I've killed people who have dropped legendary weapons but not picked them up because they aren't even worth it anymore

I have the exact opposite problem, im trying to avoid ganks (usually progressing a build) then i get gripped by max level who are picking fights to start a gank. Because they are so bored they need to start problems

When i get voidwalked i enjoy the player interaction, strictly pve content is a bore, stat check “bosses” and literal gods isn’t fun content. They should add rankless no skull chime on weekends. Noone wipes to losing skulls anyways. It just hinders new players

@@flop69419 my entire friend group of like 5-6 kids all got deepwoken at around the same time and we instantly just got better. idk, maybe ppl join deepwoken without friends or we just adapt quicker but not getting better a game in a month is crazy

The chaos in ganks is very fun. I thrive in the fucking nuclear mantra hell that is any major gank at the moment.
I would want to do more ganking rather than server hopping 20 times till i find an opportunity just to fight 2 players😭😭Also players play cheeaap, I try to get the heck away from voidwalkers when I can but if you're ganking or 1v1ing and you just swap you are just lame. LAME!
I have the exact opposite problem, im trying to avoid ganks (usually progressing a build) then i get gripped by max level who are picking fights to start a gank. Because they are so bored they need to start problems
@@shayde3428 I avoid ganks on any slot that isn't max, so yeah I can say that I have that problem with petty max lvls too. A guy attacked me who was max and he just wanted to sell me... yeah ganking is not meant for progression lol.

Also voidwalkers are the players who enjoy pvp the most. When i get voidwalked i enjoy the player interaction, strictly pve content is a bore, stat check “bosses” and literal gods isn’t fun content. Anyone who enjoys that on a loop is the epitome of brainrot ipad kids.

People who believe voidwalkers have no say in anything about the game are the same people who do the same copy + paste shitting out builds grindset with no thought behind whats going into it. Voidwalking in deep is currently the most stimulating playstyle and it isnt even fun because everyone dodges or floods on you. To progress in this game I shouldnt have to sit down and dedicate 3 hours of my fucking life holding the left mouse button and brainlessly clicking through levels.
