I really enjoyed this video and wondering if you might be able to give me a little extra help. I am low vision and use a blind cane and I’m looking for a light like these pen lights that I can put on the handle that will light up my path so I can see steps or things that might be in my way. Most of the lights that are specifically for attaching to a cane are so dim they are practically useless. I am hoping you can make any suggestions that you think might work in that situation that will provide a lot of lumens as well as not be too heavy and will hold a charge for a few hours at a time. Thank you so much for your video.
I have the updated version of that nightcore (MT06MD) and find it perfect fore what I need. Fire/Paramedic; the lowest setting (they claim 4 Lumens) works for checking pupils, the highest setting at 180 lumens is bright enough to light up a room, hallway, behind a building, etc. Also, it fits nicely in the pen pocket on my shoulder. Any idea if there is a similar light that would compete? Oh, I suppose it’s also fun that it has a pupil size chart on the side of it as well. Only thing I’ve found a wee bit meh about it is that its lowest setting is perhaps a bit too bright for pupils. I suspect its brighter than the 4 lumens they claim.
I need kind of a focused beam to look into recessed dark holes for up close work. So a flood type beam wouldn’t work well for me. Any brands or penlights like that?
So I've been using the coast Slayer recently and it has a flood beam and a spot beam and the spot beam is very punchy. I think it would work well for what you need
@@camronmoz2662 I've seen plenty of flashlights with stun guns that are small but none that are made to fit in a shirt pocket. But also all of those ones that I've seen the flashlight has kind of been like an afterthought
Im super late to this one. I think the clip is a pretty important feature always overlooked. I use a penlight to inspect welds and I always have it clipped into the leg pocket of my carhartts. Obviously bright is awesome but if the clip falls off the light everytime my leg rubs something, bright is worthless. My personal choice for the last few yrs has been the Pelican 1920. Im pretty sure I could hang from the clip.
Hey great review/collection! FYI the AceBeam DOES have a memory mode where you double click the tail cap and go right back to the last brightness. I just ordered one to try out, I’ll let you know how it works. I’ve been rocking the standard Nitecore MT06 for over 5 years now and love it. It’s super durable and I love the simple UI and the spot beam, plus it’s super slim and fits perfectly in my tool pouch. Also, I’m going to try out the Olight I3T Plus at 250 lumens which looks pretty awesome too.
this popped up as recommended, and i'm looking for a specific penlight, Ithought " you'll definitely have it" but it must be the holy grail looking for a 1 or 2 AAA ( or 10440 ) - like an Olight i3T / plus - but with a magnetic tailcap I have a Perun2mini but the rightangled head isn't the most convenient and an i3T but really need a magbase any suggestions?
Has streamlight improved on their tail so switches over the past few years? If not I’m staying away from streamlight. On another note regarding streamlight they had a penlight with multiple settings and you can change the interference order by using the tail cap clicking it in certain numbers to program it. That one was kind of neat.
I really like the penlights also. My favorite, and not represented here (quite a collection, wow!) is the "Maratac titanium inspection AAAx2 extreme rev2". The non-Ti is pretty good too.
I used to use a teralux lightstar 80 for years and even survived a few cycles through the washing machine. It had the bite grip on it a long time ago. It finally died due to some batteries swelling up and leaking inside the light. I couldn’t get it out so had to just trash it. Great little light though. It wouldn’t hang with the brightness of todays lights but still good for it’s time.
That rechargeable maxxeon will be hard to beat. It is still my favorite penlight. But snap on makes a really nice penlight too. It's in my most recent video. It's a little big for a pen light, but it's really awesome for work.
Hello from another penlight enthusiast. Thanks for the best penlight comparison on UA-cam. I've had several penlights, but our collections don't overlap much. The pushbutton switch is usually the first point of failure. My original LD05 switch went flakey as it did in a few other lights. I like Streamlight products because they have provided replacement switches without a hassle. Loved Inova lights for years, but Nite-Ize (Inova) changed the tail switch on their most recent penlights and they are difficult to activate. Plus, my newest 2xAAA Inova light didn't work well with Eneloops. Lately, I've moved on from 2xAAA lights to 1xAAA lights and carry a spare battery. The 1xAAA lights fit my shirt pocket better and carrying a spare battery means I won't be surprised if the first battery dies. Have several Peak LED Eigers and Matterhorns. Have fun and keep up the great videos.
You HAVE to look at Reylight- specifically the Reylight pineapple mini / pineapple mini penlight. It has memory, a user-programmable software, replaceable rechargeable battery for the penlight (14500 otherwise), nicely tinted LED (Samsung, can’t remember specific), would definitely be your a favorite. I know it’s mine. I have it with Saigaha pattern in stonewashed titanium. The foursevens is badass too, I have that one as well. But I prefer the all metal buttons on Reylights, mine also has a timascus button ($10) and I put a Swiss-made 1.5x6mm tritium vial in the button I installed. Not the absolute brightest but I keep 4 batteries on the charger and swap them out every couple of days. It’s similar in brightness to the foursevens. I’m gonna look at the peak led solutions, those look awesome
True Utility make a pen light with a red laser pointer if that helps. I have a few TU items but not the torch, the pocket knives are great, sturdy little numbers
21:12 $50 flashlights for those who need to walk to a different beat? Also, their website looks like it was built in 1999 and they just update the product line and prices a bit.
The eiger ultra is my EDC. It clips to my wallet and stays in my pocket. And with a 10440 batt with built in charging port - it's incredibly bright and infinitely variable brightness. I've found it to be my most used small light. With the momentary switch Nothing else has the same features or brightness
@@eastcoastlumenoutpost4189 I don't disagree that it's a great flashlight. It's just a bespoke item that only people who are REALLY into lights like you would appreciate. I was also laughing at the 25-year-old website design.
@williamswan770 i love some nebo lights. Just this one in particular sucked. But the divinci lights and the luxtreme lights are phenomenal. And the new edge 2k light looks very interesting
much appreciated that you have lived-in experience with this show and tell.. thanks a lot
Amazing collection, thank you man!
The best pen light imo is olight pen 2 and was first item that got me into edc. Coincidently I found it free on the ground thats why it's the best
The Fenix LD05 was my daily for YEARS till I lost it somewhere. I’d love to get a replacement but it’s been discontinued.

So streamlight and also a lot of other companies suffer from the switch getting crappy overtime.
