    In this video we will cover both print script and cursive of Serbian Cyrillic alphabet. You can pause at any time and examine correct stroke order in more details. I suggest that you take a pen and paper and practice writing these letters.

    Љ and Њ are basically the same as these in the Romance languages:
    - Spanish Ll and Ñ (if Ll isn't merged with Y)
    - Italian Gl and Gn
    - Portuguese Lh and Nh
    - French Gl/Ll and Gn (if Gl isn't merged with Y)
    Examples for Љ:
    caballo = kavaljo
    aglio e olio = alljo e ol'jo
    ralho = halju
    papillon = papilją
    Examples for Њ:
    piñata = pinjata
    bagno = banjo
    sonhar = sonjar
    hargneux = ahnjö

    Last time I've seen someone write an Cyrillic letter in its non-italic form was when filling a foreign tourist registration form in an immigration office in Siberia. And I was like: "What? The Cyrillic letters can be written as what it looks like?!"

      Do you mean this?:

      @@cerebrummaximus3762 Yes, but I have a question. If in all cursive Cyrillic varieties small letter d is written as the way Latin g does, why do people invent a d-like cursive variety? In exactly what situation do people write that way?

    How do I combine the letters when writing a text? For example when I write аб how do I combine the cursive letter б to а? Is there an overview somewhere?

    • @user-gm2gj1xi4v
      @user-gm2gj1xi4v 5 років тому

      You just write the letter a next to б. It isn't so complicated. When letters don't have a stroke down, you should just add the letter next to it.

    What is the difference between Џ-Ђ and Ч-Ћ?

    • @charlottesaunders5457
      @charlottesaunders5457 3 роки тому +6

      Џ is like english "j" and Ч is like english "ch". Ђ and Ћ are not sounds in english and I had a difficult time differentiating them, but basically imagine saying "dy" (Ђ) and "ty" (Ћ) and then blur the sounds together

    Anyone on here speak Russian and know the Russian alphabet and sounds? I want to know if [ћ/ć] is the same sound as [-ть]. Is there anyone able to answer that for me please? and Thank you! :-)

    • @epitaph1234
      @epitaph1234 5 років тому +3

      ть is a tad softer than ć. You can pronounce ć by setting your tongue on the roof of the mouth like for ть and bringing it forward a little bit.

      Ть is just the soft t/т. See time, tag vs. teen, st(y)udent. Ć on other hand is more like чь. But sometimes it is easier to consider č like чъ, and ć as ч. The truth is somewhere inbetween.
