I finally learned why most simple houses are ugly. When the developers built them, the game crashed constantly. So they finally threw in the towel and quit.

8:42 it’s the koolala light 5 over to the right that keeps the monster away and lessens the likelihood of child sims having nightmares
@@OhiChickenomg thank you for letting me know this. my kids were always having nightmares every night and I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of the shits. plus they would stay up and be tired after a while

@@starlitexo if you get an adult to spray the monster after the kid wakes up, they will hug and then be able to go back to sleep. Just make sure the kid is in the room when the adult sim sprays the bed - they need to see it happen.
@@starlitexo Make sure that when you place the light, you place it on a tile that it next to the head of the bed, (or behind the bed head if you want to hide it). If you place it where Satch did in the second house, it won't work, it's too high up and on the opposite side of the room.

My sims 4 crashed for the first time in damn years for me the other night when i was an hour deep into a build, i shut my laptop and took a nap. I was so pissed LMAO

The kids' potty can be put in the inventory now. I take it to friend Sims' homes when they don't have a toddler

I''m rebuilding Willow Creek completely at the moment and if you use debug plants that will save some money. I think we all felt your pain when the game crashed. I applaud you keeping going I'd have had to go out for a while 😂
You handled that like a champ Satch. After all, The Sims gets the best of all of us from time to time... (More often than I'd like to admit.) 🧡
Oh nooo, the crash. I would literally cry after all this work. But tbh I used the streamlet single once for the story, I redid the kitchen for kids room and moved the kitchen to living room, the story was that adult and kid sisters lived there when their parents died and big sis became adult not long after this happened, they had to move out from their family home because the bills were too high and adult sis couldn't find good paying job. But they moved after some time because I couldn't look at it any longer 😂
Tip, size the kids light down as far as it will go and put it down where an outlet would be as a nightlight.

I've had an absolutely INSANE few days, and lying here on my bed, cats everywhere, fans running, chilling my acheing feet with ice 🧊 packs, drinking a Mojito and watching you redesign base game homes is way therapeutic! 👌 😅😂😅. The most relaxing of relaxation! Laughter really is the best medicine! ❤❤❤....
PS One of my cats 🐈 is passed out cold asleep on top of one of my aquariums, and the sun is setting....life is good; and your videos make it better! 🤩
Kudos and respect for continuing with a build even after that first crash. I would have rage quit if the game do this to me after I've spend so much time structuring a house and furnishing half way...
Oh gosh I can reno any pre made house in the sims but to this day Streamlet Single laughs and spits on my face. For some reason it just NEVER feels right.
That to small TV... Just hit the «]» to make it bigger. Don't change the cost.
Replace some of the plants with free base game **debug** plants.
I don't know if this helps. When you are building or in CAS save them to the gallery as often as possible. When I did this even if that got stuck in a loading screen or crashed it always saved. Also if you play in for rent apartments 'switch and save' between households on that lot. Even if it gets stuck in loading screen hell (or you cold restart the game) it will save all the progress of the house you were leaving.
definitely understand not rebuilding it after the game crashed! been through that so many times with the sims it's just not worth the hassle!
Satch you can drag a kids potty into your inventory
when my kids were potty training I real life owned a small fold-able potty seat. It fit in my purse. So yes pocket potty seats for toddlers. Also the toddler seats that sit on top of the adult toilet so you don't even need to find a spot for the toddler potty

I don't really care for EA's bad houses but for some reason, I really hate this lot lmao
I hate it for the fact that if you decide to keep it as a shell, and build two storeys to have more space, it turns out you can't build above the bathroom, because it has no ceiling. It took me forever to work it out, but in their wisdom, EA didn't build the bathroom as a room, but as separate walls and it never became a room. 🤯

gotta remember to save your game or save the build to your own library in stages so the game can't delete all your work if it crashes!

No joke my first household I ever played in was this one, I didn’t know how to build or how to use the gallery so I had several generations living in this house. 🤦♀️
i thought about this now and i’m not sure if others have suggested it but i wish there were more different bed sizes (other than twin and full). such as queen, king, etc. in my opinion, with my room depending on the size of the bed it really can be the focal point of the room or more shoved off to the size
I'm only 45 seconds in and I have to agree with you - the Streamlet Single is awful! It was the very first house I used when I started playing, and unfortunately, as someone who still only has base game, it's where a lot of my sims still start off - but I'm a lot better at building now than I was a year ago, and I'm not afraid to renovate or demolish the lot.
That being said, the thing that I HATE and bugs me the most about Streamlet Single, is when you try to build 2 storeys using the existing shell. The bathroom ISN'T a room. For whatever reason, the bathroom wasn't built as a room and HAS NO CEILING. Bugged me for ages why I couldn't put flooring down (again, relative newbie) until I figured it out. Like that feels so basic, for a basic box build, where the rooms are also boxes, HOW did the designers get that so wrong???
Ah, but you CAN put potties in your inventory! 😁

yo plcaed the wrong wall light in the toddler room its the other wall light with the little monster on it which stops the monster. Its the same shape as the one you placed xx

I remember making a while mall in oasis springs. It took ke w good six hours, and my brain forgot to save. Then the game crashed and i wanted to crash with it
You could put a half hipped roof where the octagonal roof once been.
They need to update this entire world. It's super tragic. It was horrible in 2014 and has only gotten worse and worse.

@8:35 you put the wrong light up... it is the other wall light that looks the same but has a monster on it. I do not remember the name offhand but it is something like "monster be gone" or some other reference to the monster under the bed =)
Omg the amount of times that the game has crashed on me and ive lost hours of building is so infuriating. Now i make sure that any time i from nish any section of the house, i save it to the gallery. I dont do save game because ive heard that it can corrupt your save if you save game in anything other than live mode but if you just keep saving the build to the galery as you go, if the game crashes, you can just plop it back down when you repaunch the game
that happened to me before 😭 i was finishing decorating and my game crashed. i almost threw my laptop against the wall it really pissed me off

as someone who hasnt been a toddler in 20 years, and doesnt have a child of my own, where DO the high chairs and potties go? like irl, cause i always put a potty in the toddlers bedroom incase they have to go at night- that normal right xD
@@chrisjuliette 🤣 I know plenty of people who have potty chairs in their toddlers’ rooms or even in their living rooms irl. Especially if they let their kids wear underwear instead of the diaper. I personally got my kids a tiny toilet seat that fit into the regular toilet seat and had a foldable step stool next to the toilet. I lived in a tiny apartment when my kids were little and didn’t have the space for extra stuff like that…definitely never had a high chair either 😅 I just fed them on my lap and eventually had a booster seat that sat in a regular dining chair.

That's it - SAVE. No; I am not being a Karen - because this happens to me as well.... And there's nothing worse. Especially once when I spend 2 hours redoing the interior of a huge house - and then it crashed and I hadn't saved. I almost cried. 😪
I bulldozed 90% of the houses in Willow Creek and put houses from the gallery on those lots 😂 I cannot with the ugly builds.
Honey, you need to save every 10-20 minutes sadly that is how SIMS 3-4 are. I felt your pain when you lost everything... Hours gone.
