I use 5” paddle tails , i find they throw abit further than the 6”. I use a 2oz sinker most of the time. The hooks i use are 7o mustads but an 8o isnt a bad idea. Anything smaller than 7o i find i lose alot of fish but thats just my opinion. I put teo beads either side my sinker and i tie my flourocardbon onto a swivel. Its better to have a leader but i just get abit impatient with tying leader knots 😂 i havnt lost a fish because of this yet so i guess ill learn the hard way! Hope this helps!
Hi - i dont personally use one. I tie my braid to a swivel with a leader that runs to my main hook. However, i only do this because im too lazy to tie joining knots when i snap up. Id recommend rather having a longer leader to give you a better chance if the fish tries to cut you off
Thanks bud 🙏 The importance of tagging is to hopefully retrieve valuable information about the fish. Once tagged, if the fish is recaptured by a fisherman, the length of the fish is recorded and its location allowing us to see the time gap between catches, growth between catches and possible travel routes of the fish (is it local or does it travel far). Over years the cob populations have decreased along our coastline and the size of the fish have decreased dramatically with catches over even the 10kg mark on dropshot - now being a rare find. Moving up to 20kg and further they are even more scarce. This is due to people keeping the larger fish to eat which produce more than double the eggs when they spawn compared to the younger fish. All in all, im trying to make a small difference. Im interested in learning more about the fish and protecting them for future generations to enjoy!

Jaaaaaa boyjie!! Gota catch them all, love the video, also what is the reason for tagging the fish?
Thanks bud 🙏
