Oh my goodness - you are camping at the campsite I stayed at in 2009 !!! I camped beside the fence on the left of the gate! I am from South Africa, and had hired a campervan for 2 weeks to tour Devon & Cornwall. I booked in advance so I knew I had places to stay (wild camping was not such a "thing" then. Also, I was a lady alone with the SA mentality that nowhere is safe (😂😂😂)(here one would definitely NOT wildcamp!). What wonderful memories, I loved every minute of it. 💙🦋
Great video! Me and my mates have stayed in this campsite twice this summer so far and it’s an amazing place to stay and quiet! And the owners are so nice. Farmers fields with campsite are the best type of camping. Good to see more and more popping up!
Loving this little campsite. Great to see farmers letting people use their land rather than been miserable gits as some are. And living both van setups. Have fun loving life. I need a van 😅
What a great little camping spot, and no dope heads! I can recommend Pitts farm camping in Hartland, Devon, similar set up, but with amazing toilet and kitchen facilites, it's my favourite local camping spot.
Can’t remember if I left a reply. Great to meet you guys outside the Tinners Arms. Keep up the good work mate. Oh meant to say my Uncle sent me a message saying how come I saw you in the video in Cornwall I couldn’t believe it 😂
Aww you are so good at converting these little vans, what a skill, and a very lucrative sideline. It would be really nice to have an alternative out there to those excruciatingly expensive RV's on offer, or the cheaper ones with clapped out motors !!
You assumed you couldn't live in a van the size of yours 7-days a week. Lots of people do. You should go check out Lady Bugout. She lives in a much smaller van (red with black spots🐞) than yours and it's so comfortable and cozy. Nice to see a basic, cheap campsite for once. Not many left in the UK sadly. Lovely to wake up to a bit of sunshine after the rain.
omg how cool is that bbq bucket... yes that is what I call it....... a bbq in a bucket...... the Bluetti looks great, as I am in Australia, I am hoping can get one of those here... great Vvlog guys, and darren thanks for your input.... and those bikes are they electric?.... meat needs to be medium rare thanks.....think I need to get one of those sweaters...
Perfect little campsite. Shame about the cornish weather...... Your little van looks great. So cosy. Glad to both carried on in true British style and had your bbq.😉😃. X
This pub is great. I visited several times this summer. The staff is super friendly and the food is very nice. We stayed at a B&B very close to this camp and walked down to the pub every day for beer and food. I don't know why you don't tell the name of the pub. But if you want to keep it a secret, I won't tell either 😂
Try Morvah down the road, £5/adult, £2/child per night and 3 x proper flushing toilets. Only downside is no pub super close if that's something you're looking for. Stayed there loads and theres some really nice walks around and on the lands end coaster route if you wanted to explore further afield 😎👊🏻🤟🏻
If this campsite had one of those nice porta toliet and shower block (not sure on the name of them) the price would be fair but this looks like a nice spot for larger motorhomes with there own facilities
Love that van Shaun! I so wish we had something like that here, meaning a place to camp just down the road from a local pub. If we do, I haven’t found it yet.
Just a couple of miles north of me. Would make a good spot to do a van shake down (not far to go home if any problems. I just realised I have never been in the Tinners though! Too busy in season and looks dead out of season. 😃
It would be great if more farmers fields like this were available to camper vans, i'd be more than happy with a site like that but i would imagine that there's almost certainly 'rules and regulations' for change of use. Nothing as as simple what with bureaucracy getting in the way. And love the conversion mate, well nice.
do you have hipcamp there? In Australia we have a lot of farmers allow people to stay for a small fee. The facilities provided vary from place to place but the app list what’s available. We’ve used it for car camping and we’re definitely going to use it when I get my van ready.
Am I the only one that thinks that field is expensive ? Great alone..but when you have family with you that's expensive for a field with portaloo and no showers..
I thought the same tbh once you add up the per person tariff with only a portaloo. I would suggest an additional £2-£3 per night for additional people in a van/tent would be more reasonable for couples or families. But I guess it’s location, location, location that drives the prices and St.Ives area is very overpriced now so I guess that spills out to the outskirts too.
I know its daft but if you hold a driving license and ride a bike, I believe you can be done for drunk driving if your over the limit. Which would be crazy way to lose your license and get band from driving.
No per person is fairer. Why should a family of 6 all using the toilet so it costs more to empty more often pay same as single person. This is why single people camp stop paying double for hotel rooms!
@@egriffiths8993 I also won't pay extra for my dog because he always poops off site so he doesn't cost the site anything in emptying bins on his behalf. Even if it's a couple of quid .... what am I paying for
£8 a night good value but doubling it for 2 people in one vehicle doesn't make sense to me - particularly if you are not using any of their facilities. I'm still looking for the UK to provide similar to Europe's Aires at good prices.
