How many chains did you do for the first piece (the back)? I’m mid making mine but I think I’ve made it wayy too big and you’re the same size as me x
@@erinshorey3224 did you ever figure out the chains? Having same issue I measured the elbow to elbow and did 100 chains but now it seems massive!

Well how did it go?
Have been doing three panels each cardigan . Nice new way to make them without having to worry about counting rows just align and done. I didn't think the shoulder would lay right
I\m prsticing the 5 basic stitches on dishclothes right now... once thats done im going to do some placemats and then i think ill be ready for this! I'm hoping ill have it done by christmas so i can wear it all winter. My gosh i love cardigans, thank you so much for posting a simple version i can get started with and not feel out of my league (:

I have a question: On the start of the first front side you chained only two to start and on the second front panel you crochet 3 as the rest of the pattern. Is that right? Also, dumb question as I am a beginner, how do you tell which is the front of the sweater and which is the back? It looks the same to me :-) Love your videos, thank you. I made two puff hats and they turned out great.

Just measure ur t shirt across the back from shoulder to shoulder .then measure front 1/ 2 from back panel for front panel sew together up to under arm ..its pretty Eazy when you know how ..

It's beautiful, and I want to make it but I have two Caron simply soft cakes, they are 4 medium, would it come out the same size if I use them instead of the chunky, it's for my 6 year old granddaughter, I have made a few items following the videos on here, but wouldn't class myself as an expert, I still need guidance, as to what hook size, etc, many thanks for your videos, they are very easy to follow. Hi. No it won't be the same size it will come out smaller. Not sure what the weight of her chunky yarn is, but it's heavier than the Caron yarn. I'm guessing it's probably a 5.

Thank you for making this video! Crocheting helps me cope and I’ve been really looking forward to making this. I was just wondering if the pattern has to be half double crochets or are we able to choose a different stitch pattern but the same concept.
Im sure in practice most basic stitches will work well with this project. Hope dis helps

When doing the front panels you chain 3 on one side and two on the other and say repeat till reach the right length.. are you always chaining on on one and two on other or was the chain 3 just for the initial row.. Will it make much difference?

Just started the front piece. I notice that now you are only doing 2 chains when turning from middle to go back to the side and I guess then you do 3 chains and turn. For the second part of the front panel you also only do 2 chain and turn and the 2 chains count as a dc. Am I correct. You did not explain that or where to put the dc into the 2 chains. Love the sweater. Thank you

Any major difference measuring from shoulder to shoulder instead of elbow to elbow besides sleeve length? Seems like it’s just less rows worked for the sleeves when doing it elbow to elbow yes? Hope my question makes sense 😅

Hi I'm making this for a adult I'm also a beginner. I've done 57 rows for back and front panels. To sew do I still count 14 rows please?
Should I be able to make the sleeve seam closer to the shoulder and just make the sleeves a bit longer?

When making front panels are the measurements half of back panel? Say 34" for back and 17" for front 2x

Hi I just watched your tutorial on your child's sweater. And you said she was six I have twin 6yrs and trying to make them a sweater too. I dont understand the measurements you have . I have the length for one 16/1/2 width as 17/1/2 so what should my chain be
Hello iam trying to make this sweater for my two 6yr olds . But they are a lot bigger then regular 6yr olds one is 16/1/2 in length and 17/1/2 in width so what should my starting chain be
I would just chain until the chains measure 17.5", it's gonna be slightly different for everyone since some people crochet tighter or looser than others

Don't get me wrong this was super easy to follow but it just didn't work well when I tried to make this a plus size adult one I can define see how I made my paneling off because of making up for the adult curves.
Can I use worsted weight (4) and will it work?

I have made the body of this cardigan for my husband (my first sweater) but I was having a really hard time with the sleeves and my sleeves kept looking like bell bottoms so I made 2 good sleeves and now I'm having a hard attaching them properly. Can you please help me with that?

I wanna do an XL too she says keep chaining and try it on but how do u try a chain on? Lol I'm guessing if her child is 55 chains its gonna take between 70 and 100 for the larger size. I suppose I'm gonna make a long chain until it fits around my butt
I would use a k hook or L hook! And chain 70
Chain enough to measure from elbow to elbow from back at shoulder area just get somebody to help with that Lina
Ok just an FYI.... Use an I hook for large, a J hook for an exlarge, and a K hook for for a 2x... Chain 72 and half double crochet across, chain 2 at each end...
