As someone who likes mathematics, I do not even believe their 1:1 claim. They say you can buy 10mx10m tiles on Earth2, but they seem to have overlayed a grid on a 2D map (a projection of earth). It seems to me like a misunderstanding of the world and projections. While Earth is a spheroid (let's not argue about this), the projection of earth on 2D maps results in distorted regions (especially near the poles). I checked the north pole on earth 2 and the grid is the same as near the equator, meaning that while you think you are buying a 10mx10m tile, you are actually buying a 10mx0.001mm tile... basic geometry (for people who have a scope like ready player one, this should be basic)

The game will most likely be designed to spend and burn your credits on items, just like a casino. You're in their house and you play by their rules. That's a very successful business model and has been since the 17th century. Some people call casinos a scam, and it's designed to make you lose. Those terms of service literally protect the company with cancelling affer they sell 100 million in tiles, doing zero development, and having no liability. It very clearly states they have no obligation to pay anybody anything. Bitcoin was created with the idea it was harder to tamper with. One person couldn’t “cancel” the project. There was no terms and services, it was a gamble through and through. But there is a big difference between a gamble and a scam. A scam is when there are no odds to succeed, the leader owns 100%. He may “pay people off” to win here and there to pretend there is legitimacy, but ultimately they decide who gets paid out. That is a fucking scam.
No, to those people, "doing your own research" means "only accept what is not considered mainstream and whats not embraced by the larger percentage of the public" You think the game is a scam based on the sound logic of there being zero actual gameplay shown, told nothing about the mechanics, and the devs are already asking for your money AND personal data? well you "didnt do your research". They think they're better and smarter than everyone else on this earth because they reject conventional and accepted reason, the stupider and less likely something sounds, the harder they believe in it. You could probably walk one of them over to an electric fence, with a sign on it going "DANGER Electric Fence is Electric" and they will swear up and down that "YoU DoNt ReAlLy KnOw If ItS DaNgErOuS oR Not"

The universe and economic situation of rpo was a dystopia. The tech itself was neutral though, and it makes sense for a marketing team to use it as an example to explain to the consumer what product they are selling, if its very hard to convey otherwise due to the non existence of anything even remotely similar. The matrix too was a dystopia, even more so than rpo because the matrix itself was a prison, whereas the metaverse in rpo was just a game. Still people use the term matrix in a pretty neutral way to explain fully immersive virtual reality worlds
I've been watching videos about flat earthers recently and it's fascinating to me how similar they are. When the E2 cheerleaders are confronted with questions like " "how is this not a scam?" or "what is this game you've bought into even going to look like?" they laugh it off or say something inane like "ever heard of Ready player One?" and then immediately move on. They're bizarre communities of con men who've bought into their own con.
37:55 So the team is claiming that Earth 2 is exactly the same planet, with the same landmarks etc... so why are they showing some random sci-fi assets buildings instead of a real city?

They had their demo, their own created tech, etc. These Earth 2 guys just don't actually show anything but the grid.
Thanks for covering this. I can't stand it when scammers come into the gaming community to scam fellow gamers who are always looking for the next big game that does things differently 😤 This here is the reason why I have never backed any projects on kickstarter because more time than not they are usually scams. There has been a few that weren't scams like Bloodstained and Pillars of Eternity which I have bought and massively enjoyed. Its just 99% of these kickstarters are usually scams or the people are in way over their heads.

In a year there will be two kinds of people. Those who bought tiles in a fake currency completely controlled by a few people who can take it all away anytime, and people who want nothing to do with it but laugh. A war is brewing. You can see it in rising dislikes and comment likes. They are coming.....
Yeah, there is currently a SQ42+ really good starter ship pack for that much. Rest of the ships you can earn with in-game credits pretty easily. SC seems like a way better deal than this mumbo jumbo they are trying to pull here with E2.
Nicely done! A good example of doing a basic search on publicly available sources and showing people that doing our own research, to make an informed choice, need not be too complicated. After watching your video, I come away with the impression that these 'indie' developers are taking a page from AAA titles - selling the idea of a game. They draw on existing tech, be as ambiguous as possible and allow potential buyers to fill in the gaps using their own imagination. We're not buying products anymore. We're buying emotions. And we should expect more of these.

If you look at the tiles, they are square. The earth is round. This makes it so that there has to be seams or some kind of other trick like teleporting portals or something somewhere, because it doesn't fit together mathematically. So I would be interested in knowing where the seams are. Perhaps in the middle of oceans or something, but still.

PayPal also pulled out of onlyfans. So… it doesn’t mean much
What an irony, people who told you "Do YoU OwN ReSeArCh, BrO!" seem to be the one who did research the least.

So they claim they're trying to make "Ready Player One" a reality. Are they aware that "Ready Player One" was a dystopia?
Because they have no clue what they're building.
Because it's an asset flip
Because it just works !
I find it kind of funny that UA-camrs are noticing this just now. I have been seeing ads about it for about 2 years. But it does make sense that it is receiving such a reception. And it blows my mind that people cant see past scam. It makes. no. sense.
