    Love the video. I need to look up my father's birth certificate. I wasn't sure if when you are searching it eventually finds results and helps narrow them down. That wasn't clear but I guess I'll have to find out.

    • @MixedinMexico
      @MixedinMexico  6 місяців тому

      Hi @YayaHerrera-nu2rq I'm glad you found the video helpful. The Birth Certificate will not come in the mail as well, it will just be made available to download by PDF. It is accepted in all official capacities in Mexico, no matter the office. (They usually want it printed for the month you use it, oddly.) If you are referring to a county clerks office in the U.S. or abroad, it SHOULD be accepted but I can't be too certain, as I've never made use of it other than for use in Mexico. I hope that helps! 😊

      [XAXX010101000 or XEXX010101000]
      There is also a generic CURP for foreigners, if you need it
      XEXX010101HNEXXXA4 for men or

      @@MixedinMexico ❤❤❤ You just saved my life! I have my Consulate appointment in a couple of days and thanks to your previous videos JUST learned that Mexican birth certificates "expire." I was able to find my dad's online, but it wouldn't let me submit payment. I spent 2 hours trying to find a solution online or a service that could get them for me Those were charging over $90, but would only send me the documents via paper mail. Hi! Your content has been EXTREMELY helpful! Just using your videos tonight I was able to get a CURP and download my dad's birth certificate all from home! Thank you so much! I have read ALL the comments and browsed several videos but nothing seems to address my issue: One of the requirements is an ID from your Mexican born parents. I do not have that. I have no contact with my dad.(Mexican born but now US naturalized) I understand from your responses to other comments that I should go to the registro civil as they may be more lenient. However what do I do for the ID portion? Thanks in advance!

    • @MixedinMexico
      @MixedinMexico  4 місяці тому

      Hi @georgianadiaz Thank you for the kind compliment; I appreciate it and I'm glad to know my videos have been helpful for you. In regards to securing your dual citizenship through your Mexican father, while the Registro Civil offices in Mexico have more leniencies in what they can allow for, they will all still require an official Mexican ID for your Father when you go to Register your birth. You will need either his Mexican Passport, his Mexican INE card, or a Matricular Consular ID for him, if he has one. They understandably have to be strict with adherence to this rule, due to the prevalence and potential for fraud [especially with so many duplicate names in Mexico]. I hope that answers your question. Feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have.

      Hey Elias. Thanks for watching the video. A similar situation happened with my mother-in-law. Her hometown in Mexico hasn’t fully gone electronic yet so she decided to have someone she knew from there go to their Registro Civil office and get her birth certificate for her. It was just faster than the Consulate for when she needed it; but in theory…a Registro Civil appointment at the Consulate Office should be able to take care of it as well.

      The only fields marked as required (*) to make the payment, as of today 9/1/22 were “Name(s), First surname, Second surname, CURP, and Email."
      If yours is showing an RFC is required (*), Mexico has a generic RFC for foreigners which may work for you. Let me know if you need help finding it. Hope this helps! 😊👍🏽

I am not 100% sure on if the Registro Civil office at the Consulate will be able to assist with that amendment, as that is usually handled by the municipality or federal entity in Mexico where the birth occurred; but it doesn't hurt to try. Hi @Chonny_Boy yes, this would be considered an “original” for INM purposes. I would be sure to print in color (as to show the green outline) and access/download it in the month you will use it. They do tend to be quite picky about the date printed on it. Hi! Yes, some parts of Mexico are slowly entering in all the birth certificates into their online database. Some Mexican states are faster than others with the switch from printed to electronic form.
      This was the case with my mother-in-law’s birth certificate, as I’ll explain in my next video. After typing in all her correct information, we continued to get that error message because her home state hadn’t made the switch over yet, but thankfully my father-in-law’s home state in Mexico had. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment 😊

      Hey Andrea! Once you come to the page at minute 7:10, you can click "descargar acta" and it should automatically download to your browser and/or computer; so I would first check those 2 locations on your device. If you don't see it there [and you've clicked that button], I would save that alphanumeric code that is usually in red on that same page at minute 7:10, and use that to re-access the file for download at another time or on a different device; or even just with another browser. I hope that helps!

      @user-zx8dd3vr2r If you don't know your grandfather or grandmother's full name, you will have difficulties requesting your mother's birth certificate online. I usually suggest to my clients to go in person to a Registro Civil office in Mexico with your parent's CURP (in your case, your mom's), and request a copy of her birth certificate. Hi Armando! That's a great problem to have. With your two birth certificates, it sounds like you already possess dual citizenship and qualify for 2 passports; both in the U.S. and Mexico. Having your place of birth altered on your Mexican birth certificate shouldn't change much, as regards to what you may qualify for; but if you desire to have that amended, I would reach out, in one way or anther, to the local Registro Civil office in Mexico that your parents registered you at. They would be in the best position to assist. I hope that helps!

After you purchase it, I believe with the folio number they give you, you can re-access it within a certain amount of days to redownload it. Have you tried using a different web browser or checking your preferred web browser's download folder? To my knowledge, they do not mail out the birth certificates with this website. Check the local churches of their place of birth and look for baptismal records. Once the church can confirm their baptism, they can give you a constancia of baptism. The local civil can use this to register the birth. That’s how I found my great grandmother and she was born 1907. I made the trip personally to some little pueblo in southern chihuahua. I too got no response from my local consulate. I took care of everything in Mexico instead. Smaller town’s civiles are far less crowded than major cities.

    I have a Mexican birth certificate. Born in Mexico in 1953. Both my parents were US citizens. My birth certificate list two last names. All my US ID only lists my paternal last name. This has created a very difficult situation for me getting a Mexican passport. The Mexican consulate in NC has told me to legally change my name and update all my US ID. This simply will not work for me. Any suggestions how I can get a Mexican passport? Will Mexico deport me if I over stay an FMM? BTW, my US passport list my birth place as Mexico. I also have a CURP.

    • @MixedinMexico
      @MixedinMexico  Рік тому

      Hi Gil. That sounds very frustrating. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. If you strongly desire to get your passport at a Mexican Consulate, I would either reach out to the Registro Civil office in Mexico where your birth was registered to see what the process would be to amend your name on the birth certificate; OR add both names to either your U.S. driver's license or passport and use whichever is easier to change along with your Mexican birth certificate that matches the name. They seem to be very particular when it comes to this at the consulates.
      As an alternative; Since you already have your Mexican birth certificate, I would simply get your Mexican passport at an SRE office IN Mexico, if at all possible. It may prove to be a lot easier than changing your names for the Consulate in the U.S. You may have to get a Mexican driver's license or an INE, if you don't already have one, as a supplementary form/proof of ID; but that shouldn't be too difficult.
      And as far as getting deported for over staying your FMM; the answer is/should be no. Because you are a Mexican citizen and possess a Mexican birth certificate, at most, you will pay a fine for accidentally coming in as a tourist. I hope this helps!
