Love the builds. Just wish there was a transparent pricing that was listed alongside of this. Helps to know what price range people need to save for on these great setups. Especially if you want to do the Big Lap.
We all love to be in his shoes but in all these cool builds I can't help wondering how much are they worth to you and I vs what they worth when they getting featured in video features like this, ie how much cost offset there is?
My mate has a gu patrol with a full size canopy. He’s a short bloke 5 ft 5 and he sleeps in his canopy. He has a teddy bear and a mattress which all you really need. Pretty cool :8
@@jacoblloyd5816 A 'CV Joint' is one part of a drive shaft and can also be found on some prop/tail shafts but good attempt at being a needlessly pedantic dick.
Nice rig, but the best rigs are always built by some smart and skilled fella in his back shed. That's what 4wd 24-7 is lacking these days, and that's also what made 4wd Action and 4wd Monthly so great.
Absolutely love the build, using this build for a future reference towards what I'd like done to my fourbie once I've got some extra cash, now it might sound a bit silly but I'm thinking of going for an LDV T60 Luxe Mega Tub to replicate this build best as I can, thinking of taking out the tub and because the chassis is already extended for that larger tub I won't need to do another, I'll be able to hop right to the custom built canopy and finding a decent bull bar. Then from there on I'll mainly focus on interior design and practicality of the vehicle itself, really getting the most storage that I can out of it, just like Shauno's done here. Great job from DMW on the chassis extension, custom storage, and canopy itself, lots of thought put into this build and it really shows.
One of the neatest things i think is is onboard welder. for LONG trips. it is so nice to know you can fix most anything with it and a grinder. I love the retracting air hose. can't wait to see the 30 crushing it out on the track next week. Have a great one guys.
Mate that retractable air line is a gr8 idea Definetly up there with one of the best touring mods I've seen. Sure beats opening draws, digging thru and finding air hose, getting out coiled up air hose, untangling said coiled up hose, using it then putting back under the six things in the draw so it's all neat again. Love it 👍 That 200 is a beast cant wait to see the shenanigans u get up 2 in her.
It’s one hell of a rig, that’s for sure. And it’s only right that we use technologies that are available. That being said, overland is going bloody soft if this is where we’re headed. Maybe it’s just me 🤷🏻♂️
Best mod I’ve seen is on your rig mate the socks on the back are just next level I never thought it could be useful when you said but when you think about it they come in very handy
Best mod to do is arb air control system on a arb twin compressor as you just set the pressure on your phone and have the multiple air line connection so you can do 2 tyres at once and walk way and do something else
as far as your brakes your doing the correct things, most people think of installing new rotors that are slotted and drilled, well slotted is the best, but drilling through the rotors is a major no-no. drilling through the rotors weakens the rotor by 30 percent, . drilled rotors are and were only made for race cars for the extreme heat,. so NO DRILLING . dimples are for semi cooling and slotted is to clean the rotors off ,.. just something extra for your viewers to know. one more thing, install or hook up a connection to use a portable welding machine on board, for the kimberly run.
Absolutely insane setup, every tourers dream I'd almost say. Simple and easy but still has all the great options plus more 😍 gotta love the manta system to give it that good note while looking good 👌
I can't believe all the negative comments on here. Who cares if he got it all for nothing or via commercial arrangement. They make top notch content and give it to you for FREE!? If you don't like it simple, don't watch. I can't afford a 200 series but I'll watch Shauno build his all day long and live vicariously 😉👌
That is a really tough question to answer what is the best vehicle mod you’ve ever seen and it really depends on what you’re using your vehicle for and talking off-roading and touring I have to say the invention of the camper is a game changer. Obviously the first thing I ever wanna do to my trucks is lift them with a suspension system and larger off-road tires but after you’ve done that it gets a little annoying sleeping in the cab so I actually would like to put a topper over my bed with a organized draw system underneath that way I can sleep in the bed and still have my fridge and gear next to and under me. It’s a lot cheaper than getting a camper like yours but I am not at that level yet.
not being negative to Shauno at all. ur excitement says this is wat u wanted n well done on achieving or dream vehicle, having said that, just another $200,000 plus landcruiser that 98% of the population cant afford. the dmax does it for me as does darryl n the pony. looking forward to the Kimberly trip n the up n coming trips with the 200.
Love the idea of a hot water system, if you're wheeling in tazzy going through muddy bog hole after muddy bog hole, and at the end of the day you're just so tired and drained, a hot water shower would be awesome before jumping into the swag
Hey brother I’m so stoked for ya that’s one awesome truck can’t wait for ya to finish building that rig and hook that boat up of yours and punch NORTH And send that machine!!!! Congratulations 👍👍👍👍
My mates been putting the 240 input and output in his canopies himself for ages. 1st time he did he didn't ground it correctly and gave himself a nice little buzz haha
Very informative. Despite the cost it's good to see how these systems work and what goes into the setup. Doing a lot of research into inverters at the moment so it's good to see these covered here
very nice Shawno and I'm sure you'll smash it to the max!! but I personally feel that most may be 80% can only dream of such a set up I'm a single guy with 40 years camping and outback travel experience around the world and love traveling with as little as possible to make the trip worth doing!! luxury is just a camp stove and a fishing rod and and old Waeco fridge to keep the stubbies cold. all contained in a BT50 I got for twenty grand. Looks great. Did you put a backup camera on it? that's one thing I'm looking most forward to when I get a new truck. My wife has one on here SUV and we have them on work trucks and it has to be one of the most useful things...evah!!! Seeing all the receptacles around the truck reinforces y'all experience. There's never enough power and plugs around. One more thing. I never understand why all the interiors of the drawers and storage compartments are black. So many tools and similar items are black and they blend in. I think the first thing I'd request would be to have the interiors painted white or light gray. Yeah, it will scuff and show dirt, but when trying to find that one thing and it's at the bottom corner, it will contrast to the interior color. yeah, the lights will certainly help, but having the interior be lighter in color would be a bonus. You asked about the best mod. Probably powering these new refrigerated coolers. Those things make camping almost too easy now.
the problem i noticed about these trucks your driving included there is so much overhang off the rear axle, ?WHY?, we told the same truck (american) unit and moved the rear axle 18" to the rear. , this helps in supporting the rear weight instead of preforming wheelies over the rocks like we see in most of your videos.the more the tire touches the ground the better, its called TRACTION, NOT WHEELIES OFF ROAD, wheelie makes for roll overs, and damage to the truck instead of having fun. that added 18" in length in the rear axle made for better ride, on/off the road, better support. the tires used are on 17" or 18" rims from 33" to 37"great electronics, great to be informed at all times, but fix the truck to preform better.

best touring mod (most practical...) strip led lighting under the bonnet which allows work to be done even when it is dark :)
Cheers for the idea I’m gonna do that

Wouldn't it better to have the 240v outlet at the front ? you know when you break the passenger side driveshaft you can use it to power the tools.
Use an extension lead I guess
Passenger side CV? Hate to break it to you but there are only 2 driveshafts, front and back.

Cool build but anyone, who has it, can throw a house deposit at a 200 (or 79). I prefer a vehicle with character - Dirty 30, Shorty, Milo.
