Even Not Your Mother’s unscented dry shampoo gave me a wild headache. That’s when I decided to stop spraying aerosolized crap on my head. Bought arrowroot today and excited to try. I’ll probably poke tiny holes in a jar lid and use it as a shaker, and working it in with my hands. A brush sounds useful, but I’m tired of juggling all these tools & products. The simpler the better. lol
That's an awesome idea! I bet you could even repurpose an old spice/ seasoning jar with big holes for this at some point. I'm so much more aware of toxins and artifical scents now. I have zero desire to ever get commercial hair products. Those chemical headaches are no joke! Uffda! After shopping in a big box store my hair smells like plastic & artificial fragrance. Our culture has gotten so far away from what is natural, but I'm starting to see more and more people wanting a change & a slower lifestyle with less fuss. It's exciting!
I notice this was 2 years ago, are you still using this as dry shampoo? How long does it last in your hair before you need to wash? I have very thin oily hair so I'm wondering if arrowroot powder will work for me, I also hate the smell of spray dry shampoos!
I do still use this occasionally. I've mostly used it for the day because my hair was oily, and washed it out that evening. I've switched to a natural shampoo made by a local farm called Mossycup Farms in Iowa and my hair has not needed this as much. I think the extra gunk in some shampoo and conditioner can keep our hair from performing as well as it could.
