YES YES YES THIS, this is what needs to be demonstrated on youtube more, good quality work, swaps in older 5th-6th gen chassis's with creature comforts. Every swap i've done in the past i've removed it, even on street only cars and its so stupid. Love this idea of a fast swap with ac also. Would be good to see if you can do an electric PS system in these cars with k series

@@Bytrl Wow, over $9K and you did the labor? I guess my best bet is finding a K series swapped car. Obviously people have to be doing this cheaper right?

    • @Bytrl
      @Bytrl 4 роки тому +4

@@minni1094 oh for sure. Allot of people estimate a typical k swap at right around 5k. But that's a k20a2 or k24a2 swap, no ac, no power steering, they buy an ac/ps delete kit for $150 rather than spend the almost 1k I spent doing both properly, they run a stock ecu with an immobilizer rather than kpro, no fancy ground kit, maybe a stock rad and fan just moved to the driver side.. some people use cheap hoses that work, buy ebay mounts instead of hasports, you can definitely do it cheaper. I just wanted the best mounts, best k series motor out of the box, best ecu I could afford, reverse lockout functionality, power steering, and ac. That was my goal. My plan was to cheap out on everything else. But once u start putting it together, you realize you'd rather do it once and do it right, and have the reliability and comfort of a daily. Also, the cheaper u go, the harder it is to get together properly so you're happy with it. I know allot of people that pretend theyre happy with their swap cars being brutally harsh, loud, rattly, hot, hard to steer.. ha, fuck all that. If I'm gonna spend money, I'm not gonna regret it to look cool at a meet for how hardcore I am. I went for comfort, reliability, practicality, stealth. My car isnt slammed, it has a full interior, theres no rattles, no loud exhaust, everything works as it should. Like.. as good as these guys are, did the auto cluster not annoy you in the end? Yeah that shit doesnt fly for me. You dont need to spend 10k, but you really should to do it right, and will if you have ocd. But if you consider 10k + 2k for a decent ek to start with, is 12k total for a reliable, comfortable, practical, cheap to insure, easy to fix, cheap to maintain, unique, 12 second quarter mile car that also gets 30+ mpg.. when most people dont even blink to run out and finance or even worse lease a 30k vehicle when they only make 40k a year.. hah. It's a no brainer in my book. Plus you get to learn along the way, and that's invaluable.

      200 for throttle body
      400 for si blades rims
      100 for s2k cmc
      100-200 for shifter cable/bushing
      300 for hasport motor mount
100-300 for full ac set up maybe
500-1000 for tranny depend on what tranny they get lsd or no lsd
      500 for tune
This is not a exact estimate but judging from the parts brand he use I had a idea how much it was due to me also having a k series motor so the number I m giving u is the closest to what it might cost if wrong plz lmk

Depends on what kind of engine and how cheap you’re will to go for. Cheap, at the lowest around 4-6 K and if you want like all the k-tuned stuff etc, you’re expecting around 7-9 k

Really good video. Doing a similar set up and was wondering if you guys ran into any problems leaving the ek subframe??? Everyone keeps telling me to change it to the eg subframe and run EKK2 mounts

In the last few months I think I’ve watched this video at least 6-7 times. Ball park how much would it cost for this exact same swap with ac? Ball park?

Ekk1?! Was the cv axles straight? I have ekk1 mounts and I know they can't be straight unless you swap out to an eg or dc subframe....

I purchased a Skunk2 composite fuel rail for my 8th Gen Civic but the inlet pipe on the rail hits the large vacuum line coming out of the manifold (don’t know what it’s call) because it curves down.
I see you used different plumbing for the fuel line. Can you please tell me what plumbing and lines you used? I want to purchase them for my rail so i can install it the same way like yours. I really appreciate it.

Would have been great if you went into detail on the wiring involved for the five speed conversion. I’m putting together similar swap on an automatic 97 Integra, I’m not that great with wiring schematics so I’m just gonna replace the whole Dash harness
