    Because of the way that Owlcat implemented flanking in Kingmaker and Wrath, Outflank's attack bonus does work with ranged attacks as long as two other character are engaged in melee with the target. The same requirements that need to be met to Sneak Attack with ranged attacks. This is in opposition to the table top rules, and is frankly better in my opinion. In Owlcat's implementation, "Flanked" is a condition that exists on a target, and everyone benefits from it. In tabletop, rather than being a condition on a target, "Flanking" is a state on a piece that's in position to flank, and only they (and any other piece with that state) can benefit. For me, this makes Outflank pretty much mandatory on every build except DC blaster-casters. The bonus attacks only work if you threaten the space, which requires Snap Shot feats.

    Outflank do work with bows, but not as you expected: you can't flank creatures yourself, but if they are already flanked (attacked by 2+ character) you will get the bonus. Not sure if the additional attacks work, but I think they do if you have snap shop and you are at the feat's range. Gonna check this out to confirm.

      Also, I would like to add that mythic weapon finesse do work with bows, although I don't find it all that useful, since size increasing spells work very well with bows.

      Last comment (I swear) I would put somewhere on mythic hability expose vulnerability. Not a huge increase in damage but you can proc it 2 times every turn at high levels, so a decent increase in damage.

      I do know ranged attack of opportunity can work with Seize the Moment at least.
      I'll talk about Expose Vulnerability in my Mythic Abilities Guide, issue I have with it is the damage boost isn't that low and it can take a long time to deal damage, basically on 3rd and then 6th hit on same target but on most cases enemy is already dead by then.

      I do actually have plans for guides about all the other remaining mythic paths, Aeon will surely be next but I'm just waiting for patch 1.2 to come out of beta as I have heard it improves Aeon in a lot of ways.

    You definetely want ascendant element fire as an eldritch archer, and you also need the spell penetration, and greater spell penetration feats. Imo, it's better to go 10 levels of EK as soon as you can because at spell level 19 EA + EK you still get access to greater arcana and pick 6 mage spells. And if you go kitsune + mastershapeshifter your AB is going to be even better. By going EK you will ensure you have enough feats to pick up the spell penetration feats too and as a bonus you get to fire off a free hellfire ray every time you crit, and as a bonus bonus if you take UMD 3 trick greater shadow evocation is treated as an EA spell thus you can you GSE hellfire and scorching rays to go completely nova with every crit.

      This right here made me respec my character. I quickly found out that lots of enemies were resistant to my cantrips and needed spell penetration.

      @@dragonjoshua100 Sorry for the alte reply but I think EA 1-7 lore master 8 xblooded 9 10-19 EK then finish with EA. Azata was nerfed so trickster is probably best for this, if you want to be very cute you can slot in an AT level around level 12 or 13 so that you qualify for robes of arcane annihilation. Feats will be something like PB, precise shot, metamagic bolster, spell pen, rapid shot, skill foc: arcana (from cross blooded level), loremaster level: add hurricane bow as spell, greater spell pen (should be level 9 if my maths is correct) then weapon foc: longbow (EK level), imp crit, imp imp crit, imp imp imp crit, imp imp imp imp crit, and clustered shots (actually completely normal spell would be quite nice too). Not sure if there is space for anything else. Mythic ranks would be something like ascendant element, rapid shot, the bigger they are, favourite metamagic, the rest is really up to you, you could get abundant casting (but since we are taking UMD 3 might not be so useful) really plenty of things you can take without bricking the build. Just tried to build it out, need to save the loremaster level for later, otherwise we won't have 8 bab for imp crit at 11 (would be missing a lot of tempo). This build loses 2 caster levels, so we don't get greater spell access, but that is fully compensated by the full level 20 wizard spell book we get at mythic 7.

    Nice guide but one thing I notice in a lot of your guides is that you will use backgrounds to get the bonus to attacks for weapons that have overlapping proficiencies. Unfortunately, as soon as you get a +1 weapon, that bonus no longer counts because they are both enhancement bonuses and do not stack. So retraining your background into Pickpocket or something is always better once you have a magic weapon.

      Are you sure? Extra proficiency is normally a competence bonus, not an enhancement bonus.

    This was great! Thank you! Here is an update on the build ive been working on. To get the strongest pet/archer combo, i went demonslayer 2, using toybox which allows for class archetype merge as ling as each class doesn't change the same features...i merged divine hound and divine hunter hunter. So you get judgments shared with pet, celestial companion, and domains. I recommend luck domain for rerolls and impossible domain madness. I took one level if sohei. The ranger and sohei help get early archer feats but you have to take a level or two of hunter before sohei. Anyway between judgment and madness domain you end up with +13 ab for both you and your pet. I recommend wolf pet aggressor subtype. The damage is great. Id build for cleave. Must have gear is the cloak of blood clarity ( immunity to mind effecting for 3 rounds after a kill), mighty fists amulet, belt of bloodlust (+5 moral to ab on kill), and kneepads of mighty swipe (basically free cleave). Properly buffed pet puts out solid damage and i remains dependable as a blocker. Early game fun is casting spike growth and sending pet in. The celestial template give him dr so the spikes do nothing to the pet. Build hunter for archery and snap shot, though take a few transmutation dc buffs for all the cc spells hunter gets. Party focus should be ranged, and summons. A beast tamer bard and a skald thrive in this party

      For a ranged build with pet, I'm really a fan of either Demonslayer Ranger or Divine Hound Hunter.
      Many great bonuses, free feats and even spells!

    I’m pretty sure the fencer’s gift gloves works on bows. They provide a +3 on damage rolls. They also boost weapon training like the gloves of dueling.

      I'm not getting the damage bonus with Longbows equipped on the character sheet (besides the boost to Weapon Training).
      Bonus shows just fine for melee 2H weapons though.

    Personally, I would also take elf and drop improved initiative. Spell pen, dexterity and intelligence are all useful. Alternatively, you could drop improved initiative and deadly aim to take both spell pen feats, and replace mythic deadly aim with great spell pen. You would also want ascendent element fire. This is 2d6 damage from weapon enchant and geniekind per hit anyway, and allows you to land your scorching and hellfire rays with ranged spell strike (drop the bigger they are for this imo). I think the loss of deadly aim is worth it for hellfire ray in particular, particularly as when using just long duration buffs that are not guarded hearth, you simply wont have enough AB to want to use deadly aim for large portions of the game, given medium bab progression, and nothing like favoured enemy, weapon training or studied target to boost AB. Abundant casting 1 and 2 is also a good option if you are going to use ranged spell strike. Abundant casting 2 will probably need rank 10 or to drop mythic weapon focus or distracting shots (I think the latter is a bad idea), but might be relevant for the DLC.

      My only issue with Spell Pen is that we can get by just fine with either Acid Splash (infinite), or Snowball + Acid Arrow, all of which ignore SR.
      SR to me is to spam Hellfire Ray for huge damage + attack but by the time Magus gets it (16), you already have some great ways of increasing Spell Pen from gear, including being somewhat close to getting the Headband that makes it a total non issue, Zaori's Pin.

      @@cRPGBro Acid Splash and Cold Ray DO get resisted. As early as the prologue fights, there are enemies with Acid, Cold, Fire, and Electricity resistances/immunities and every strike I make is reduced EVERY SINGLE TIME. What's the point of building an Eldritch Archer if the spells get resisted anyway? Spell pen IS IMPORTANT.

    Transformation does give you additional AB, but you lose an attack from ranged spell strike, which is at full BAB, as well as the spell you might cast, which for eldritch archer could include hellfire ray. If you take UMD rank 3 with completely normal spell, you can spam this all day. If you take athletics rank 3, you already have full BAB so transformation will actually cost you attacks per round)

      That's the fun thing about Athletics 3 - if you have BAB 20 and 20 Athletics, you actually get 25 BAB!
      It's why my Magus there has 25 BAB, 20 from Transformation, then it becomes 25 after that because of Athletics 3.
      But yes, the extra attack is somewhat mitigated by the loss of spellcasting with Ranged Spellstrike especially if it's Hellfire Ray.

      @@cRPGBro But does BAB beyond 16 actually add to attacks per round? I didnt think it did. Ranged spell strike is a full BAB attack, so even for an admittedly substantial +5 AB, the loss of a full BAB attack and a ranged touch attack as powerful as hellfire ray (which will nearly always hit), seems like a dubious choice imo.

      @@notalefty999 I believe it is indeed giving more attacks (which is why Legend is so OP).
      For example, you can see my Magus in the very beginning of the video has one more attack than the Fighter, I believe that is because of the 25 BAB.
      7 Attacks/round with Rapid Shot.

      @@cRPGBro Hmm, well that definitely changes things. Inspecting high level enemies, it only seems to show 4 iterative attacks on the character sheet, so is this just missing information, or is it only players who get the extra attacks?

    I'm currently playing as azata eldritch archer and I think that would be really good option too. You benifit from all the strongest and fun superpowers. Also since devil gets unlimited hellfire ray that could be good too for evil characters, but I don't know if making aivu sad is worth it.

      Yeah, I just went with Trickster because I can't resist getting high critical range on a weapon that has great critical damage but disappointing critical range like Longbows for once.
      Azata is certainly a solid Mythic Path too overall, and getting to ride your own dragon in combat is always great fun.

      @@cRPGBroregarding riding Aivu - how does it work with bows bacause my experience not very well? Pet is not engaging in melee at all in rtwp (Lann on a dog trying to benefit from snap shot)

      @@abidhalzim I have not really tried mounted ranged combat yet, but from what I have heard, it used to be bugged before (pet would never attack/stay still while ranged fired bow) but nowadays it appears your pet will move to attack the enemy, then you will fire bow attacks from wherever the pet is.
      For this you should consider investing in Point Blank Master because you will be firing attacks at melee range and don't want to get hit with attacks of opportunity.

    Sword Saint trickster with the full wizard spell book would be pretty bonkers.
    I went with Azata, and I can't cast mage armor on myself, so I'm missing out on a lot of AC from Archmage Armor.
    Although I'm doing mounted combat which is kind of an awkward anti-synergy with having very high AC on myself, but it's really good that Aivu can take me across the screen, and then I can do a full attack with a spell included.

    Elemental Barrage builds are practically dead now thanks to the new update. Now the only way to trigger elemental barrage is with two separate spells on the same enemy or a multi-element spell like Elemental Assessor.

    New Subscriber here! Love your vids. Question: Could I combine Rowdy Vital Strikes Sneak Attacks, Magus Ranged Spell Combat, Arcane Trickster Surprise Spells and Azata Zippy Magic? If you could, does the sneak attack apply to the spell AND the attack for all targets? What level split would you suggest? Thanks and look forward to watching the rest of your tips!

      Hi there, and thanks for the sub!
      I would get just 1 in Rowdy for the free Vital Strike at level 1 if you want. I'd rather not though, because you are depending on many class abilities and that will delay progression. Also, as a ranged character you already have 2 attacks at low levels with Rapid Shot, Vital Strike restricts you to a SINGLE attack.
      By default, Sneak Attack will definitely apply to your ranged shot AND also RANGED TOUCH spells (which do work with Ranged Spell Combat, such as the Acid Splash cantrip).
      It's not all spells, they have to be ranged touch. Fireball for example wouldn't get the SA bonus.
      Once you get Surprise Spells from Arcane Trickster 10, ALL spells will qualify for SA, though. But it can take quite a while, at around level 14-15.
      Zippy Magic should let your spell chain to another. I have not tested this interaction yet with this class combo, but I imagine it will trigger the SA too.

    2 levels of Zen Archer. 2 Ranged Combat feats, that you don't have to meet the prerequisites for, along with Flurry of Blows with Bows, giving you another shot per round, without having to take Rapid Shot feat at all. Plus gives WIS to AC, and if you felt like it, you could go to ZA3 and get WIS to attack instead of DEX if you felt that mattered.

      You aren't feat starved so you can afford rapid shot+manyshot: it's not worth the opportunity cost of not getting into capstones. However, there is in fact a way to benefit from flurry of blows: sohei, whose flurry of blows (which works with bows so long as you have weapon mastery, as sohei and fighters do) stacks with rapid shot and manyshot does give genuine extra attacks. I haven't theorycrafted which exact combination exactly, but the most optimal archer build would be some combination of sohei, mutation warrior, and probably a sprinkling of ranger demonslayer and slayer deliverer. Trickster into legend.

    Regarding the 1st mythic ascension, +3 to skills is effectively +3 to all saves if using athletics rank 3 (as you will have to have athletics rank 2). I dont think buffing with instrument of freedom is a very practical thing to do given the short duration, the size of the effect, and the limited charges per day. Even at end game, this will be 1 or 2 short fights per day, and buffing multiple party members for such a short duration effect is frankly pretty tedious. At lower mythic ranks, the charges and duration are so few and short that this is functionally useless. +15% chance to not fail a save is great, and the bonus to other skill checks can be useful too, and there is no tedious micromanagement involved.

    I though you will go into Devil because they have Hell Fire Ray as spammable free abilities combine with goes well with Eldritch Archer range touch attack with regular attacks.

      @@cRPGBro I guess Azata into Devil to be able to Zippy magic and Favorable Magic. The problem is that Devil comes very late so you will practically be playing an Azata Eldritch Archer which is fine for the mayority of the game.

    I wonder the elemental barrage get nerfed, what else mythic ability will you pick?
    And is it possible to get a pet without getting other class?
    because I've seen pet's level depend on class level,
    But I really like the style of Eldritch archer ( casting spell on arrow is always cool )
    Is it good to build like 10 ranger(getting pets and other spells) and 10 eldritch archer?
    or maybe just 2 eldritch archer 18 ranger is fine?
    or even change to Divine Hunter to get more extra damage from per hit to pets and arrow?

    If I'm not mistaken the mythic weapon fineness gives normal bows dex to dmg, so you don't need to go for str and composite bows, that is if you want to spend the mythic feat. It was so on the beta, dunno if that is the case now. Worth a look?

      I'd say for Eldritch Archers you do lose some damage, however I wouldn't say the build is worthless without it, because you still get a lot of damage through Trickster thankfully.

    At 19 you really should take geniekind. This spell is not part of the base magus spell list, so using expanded arcana on this is a must. As you are using elemental barrage, this spell is an additional 2d6xmythic rank per hit, stacking with your weapon enchant. Taking false life or greater heroism (which can just be cast by another party member) over this really makes no sense at all.

      The issue is Geniekind does not work with ranged weapons, only melee or unarmed strikes, unless the description is wrong, but I think this is the way it works.

    I think mythic weapon specialisation gets its full benefit even with just weapon specialisation. I dont think its like mythic weapon focus or spell pen where it requires the greater versions of the normal feats for its full benefit.

      Ah, you are correct. I forgot about that and ended up thinking of Mythic Focus when talking about it.
      You do indeed gain the full bonus from Mythic Spec even without Greater Spec.

    A question about this Eldritch Archer subclass, is the bow reach reduced, when compared to a non caster archer?
    Ps: OK, I just noticed why the hell my EA had a ranged attack reach shorter than other archers... it was because I left the point blaink shot feat constantly activated.

      I think this is a bit of a can of worms.
      I have seen some say it doesn't "stack" and others saying they do positively interact with each other.
      There doesn't appear to be a consensus.
      I have tried runs with and without both, and what I can say is that whenever I have both is when I truly get massive Attack of Opportunity chains going, which is why I still go for both in my melee builds.
      Still, I suppose I could be wrong.

      I know for sure that if a ranged attack crits it will trigger an aoo for any melee party members threatening that opponent if both have seize the moment.

      @@GamerSerg74 Yeah, Seize does work with Ranged attacks which can make it a pretty neat choice if you want to get started in the Snap Shot line of feats.

      It's mostly the same as the Magus, since the feats are all regardless of class.
      Just don't bother with Elemental Barrage as it was nerfed not to work with melee or ranged.

      I am thinking of making one for my Alchemist Guide, with a focus on Bombs (we all know how powerful Vivisectionist is already).
      The issue is that at the moment, Lich is really the only Mythic that directly support Bombs.
      And amusingly enough, in Kingmaker we actually had MORE Bomb support gear like the rings that increase their damage.
      Problem is Bomb damage doesn't seem to keep up with mythic enemy HP scaling, but I'll see if I can make them into a powerful source of debuffs instead (from Lich Level Drain & also the Curse and Knockdown Bombs).

      @@cRPGBro I know you can go Legend with Fighter (Mutation would fit well) and use Weapon Training Thrown Weapon to boost them despite Bombs not being mentionned in the Thrown stuff, won't be the best character ever, but it boost Grenadier a bit

    So it doesn't matter to wield a two handed weapon in order to use the magus Spell Combat? I mean, I've always wanted to build a two handed weapon sword saint, but Spell Combat description says you have to have one hand free.

      You do need a free hand for the normal Magus with melee attacks + melee touch spells if you want to benefit from Spellcombat & Spellstrike.
      It's just that the Eldritch Archer gets special ranged versions of these without the limitation, because ranged weapons tend to be 2H anyways.

    Hi thanks for the build. Can you also make videos about the difficult fights (Unfair) in act 1 using early version of your builds.
    I was able to cheese most of them with ember and coup but was hoping they could have been defeated without cheese. (Vrock, succubus, alchemist, imp)

    I'm thinking Trickster - > Gold Dragon. That way, EA can keep the critical feat, get d10 spell damage, and 25 bab. Also, you get 3 free feats for spell penetration and shatter defenses.

    My only question is how does this function act 1 . Does it kinda really on companions or is it a sort of thing where you use the 2 attacks with the cantrip and that's good enough?

      The build can be pretty fun from the start.
      You get 2 bow attacks just at level 2 because of Ranged Spellstrike + Combat + Acid Splash Cantrip (so two bow attacks + the tiny damage from the cantrip).
      If you have a Composite Longbow, you'll also get your Strength Mod added to all that damage.
      Just a recommendation, I suggest you invest in Cold Iron Quivers in Act 1 to handle demons DR, you can buy a lot from Jhoran outside the Tavern and they are pretty cheap.
      Or 3 attacks at level 3 with Rapid Shot (but the penalties to AB from both Rapid Shot + Spellstrike + Deadly Aim can add up, I'd rather just have 2 attacks with less penalties, but this might not matter that much on Core).
      Also, as soon as level 5 you can already enchant your weapon with TRIPLE elemental damage, and as soon as level 8 you get Elemental Barrage.

      @@fashionedsoul8935 You should have two attacks at level 2 if you turn both Ranged Spellstrike + Spellcombat on, because the cantrip will be delivered through another bow attack, so a normal bow attack from BAB + the cantrip bow attack from the Magus abilities.
      It simply does not show on the character sheet, while the Rapid Shot attack does.

      When I shoot it is one normal bow shot while the second shot is only the 1d3 acid cantrip using the bow to determine if it hits or not.

      Magus is indeed a very fun and versatile class, capable of being a Fighter/Mage as soon as level 1.
      Now that we have Elemental Barrage, it's even better because they can easily proc it for massive damage!
      Here's hoping Barrage isn't changed to work only with spells.

      Mirror Bow is currently a Pathfinder: Kingmaker exclusive item unfortunately.
      I believe the only way to get it in Wrath is through cheating it in.

      Hi there, Hammer the Gap to me is a bit wasteful unless you really have feats to spare.
      Mostly because the bonus to damage persists only for a single round, and most characters besides pets and dual wielders don't tend to have many attacks/per round.

    I'm sure deliverer slayer can outdamage EA and fighter archer. This archetype has many damage sources that can be boosted by abilities, mythic spells and equipment aaand which can be multiplied on crits. I've just oneshotted Umbral dragon (Melzamerra or something like that in English version) with single arrow (ok, technically there were two arrows) as Aeon deliverer on unfair. I think the only archers that can perform better are vital strike users with these stupid Trickster's crit. feats (not sure if Owlcat changed this in latest patches).

      And yes, I'm sure there are ways of getting some other great damage combos for Archers going too, these are just the builds I chose but mostly because I wanted to leave Slayer for a separate guide focused on it soon.
      But early Elemental Barrage spam with Magus always makes for great fun!

      Well, the Fighter has more AB while the Magus has more damage early on from super early Elemental Barrage and also spellcasting.
      Both are solid, I wouldn't say one is stronger than the other, depends on your playstyles and what you prefer.

      Hi there, these builds are all Trickster because it is the most optimal path for most non full spellcasters.
      I still have plenty of other guides for other Mythic Paths, and builds for them too. Such as my Paladin who goes Angel.
      My two highest DC + highest damage for example are Demon, same for Kineticist.
      These builds can still be used with any other Mythic Path, since the only difference is you trade the Trickster Critical feats for something else of your choice, you'll still get your own Mythic Path's abilities.
