I’m new with AP Lazer and love love love my SN4836LR laser! I love watching your videos! Can you tell me if there is a test file for cutting and engraving on different materials, so I know what speeds and power to use on each material (wood, acrylic and glass).

I run a whiskey business sourcing special bottles for high end clients. I had the bright idea of offering engaging after seeing that its not going to happen I might destroy a bottle that would be impossible to replace. Sounded great in theory.

    1) If that was a hard liquor bottle, would it have caught fire when it broke?
    2) if engraved on a piece of granite, what is the maximum depth on 100% power? Can I increase the depth by decreasing speed or by running it over a few times? Would it need to be refocused with each pass?
    3) Can it be used on a cut but unpolished granite surface such as a paving stone?

Hi there! Apologies for the delay.
      1) No, Jason said he would know from experience!
      2) You are not going to achieve much depth on granite regardless of the speed and power you use. Depth wise I would say the most you will get is .001 to .0001 depth.
      3) Yes it can, please see our latest video we did today on engraving bricks.
      Hope this answers your questions!

I heard here and there that with engraving glass that there are some things you need to do to clean up the micro shards of glass after engraving, including sanding with an 8,000-10,000 grit sandpaper. What do you suggest to make sure the engrave is smooth and safe?

Hi there! This one is actually based on glass quality and not all glass is created equally and/or laser engravable. Good engravable glass should not need any sanding.
