  • Solo leveling is popular IP, one of the more popular South Korean manhwas. Recetly it got pretty good anime. Now the game released, what makes it so bad? Are there any other games with similar formula? Is the shop worse than in another games? These are questions I am trying to answer in this video.

I don't have no issues about combat system my issue is it's not f2p friendly

Regarding it not being f2p friendly... I only half agree.
      The positives:
The game gives away a ton of currency, at least at the start. And the fact that you can select 4 terget chracters/weapons from the standard banner, combined with the fact that at least one previously limited character has already been added to the standard banner suggests that, over time, f2p players should be able to get most of the characters they want, and even a few dupes for their favorites. Also, there are some pretty good SR characters and weapons as well, and I know of at least one CC who made a point of clearing all the content in the game (from early access) using only SRs.
      The negatives:
That said, it's certainly true that if you spend you will progress much faster. And if you are going for high ranks in the competitive modes, you have basically no chance as f2p. But then again, this is true for pretty much every gacha that includea a competitive mode so... I don't think SLA is that bad... Exceot in two aspects:
      1) The monetization is VERY in your face. There are way to many packs, monthly subscriptions, Battle Pass layers and whatanot... It can feel a bit overwhelming. And the worst part of it is tge glowing red button in the lobby screen telling the number of monthly subscriptions you are not signed to, like they were a daily quest you've yet to complete or something. It really irks me.
      2) Locking QoL features behind a paywall. To me, this is the biggest turn-off.
      So, TLDR...
      1) If your goal is to collect as many characters as you can and beat all the content, this game has one of the most f2p friendly gacha systems I've ever seen. (The only big negative is the lack QoL features)
      2) If you want to compete for high scores as f2p... Yeah, forget it. This is 100% whale territory. (That said, the ranking rewards seem pretty meager compared to the "normal" progression rewards, so take that as you will.)

@@joaomarcoscosta4647i played for 2 days that were great
And now on middle game I can't upgrade anything cause I can't do any of the story needing 20k more power than i have so i need to wait for the daily everytime which is boring

    • @joaomarcoscosta4647
      @joaomarcoscosta4647 4 місяці тому

      @@MrPopo-hp3uf Haha, that's understandable.
Yeah, the waiting game kinda sucks, but that's part of nearly every gacha game, unfortunately...
That said, I feel like it takes me a long time before I run out of content I can do every day.
My main recomendation if you want to speed up progression is to try and do the challenges as they come along. Just beware that not all challanges are cumulative, so if you "waste" all your keys before moving on to the next challange, you might need to wait until they replinish.
Also, don't worry too much about recommended power levels. It's possible to clear content way above your power level, if you take advantage of elemental weakness, defense break, and stuff like that.

I cannot deny that the excessive loading is a problem, but it's a bug, and as such it will be fixed. I found the tutorial very helpful, it helped me to play the game without the need to look for any guides or so since the game tells you literally everything you need to know to play. And as a f2p player ( lvl41 atm) I haven't found much roadblocks that made me feel like i needed to spend money or i wouldnt be able to play the game, you can progress through the main story really well, sure, you need some look in pulls to get great characters, but I'm only using 1 ssr as support and the most helpful characters in my build are actually sr.

Everyone has different experiences and as such, different opinions, but for a game that just released globally to have the success it had just in the first week is amazing, I would take out the incredible amount of attempts it does to make you pay for passes and boosts, but they have to make money from somewhere... And as long as the game is enjoyable as f2p I think it will do fine

Regarding the combat animations locking you in place... That's not really true. You can change the direction your character is facing in the middle of multi-hit animations, and if you need to get out of the way quickly, you can dodge-cancel at any time. It's also worth noting that, unlike games like Genshin, you can switch characters at pretty much any time (on the hunter stages) and your previous character will continue on the field while they finish the animation, making combat feel much faster paced.
My only real gripes with the combat is that the camera and targetting system can be a bit wonky at times. And the number of timed stages that act as a DPS check. But, for the most part, combat feels pretty good, imo.
The performance / loading issue only afects two aspects in the game, at least on my experience: the first few seconds whenever you enter a stage, and the lobby. Man navigating the lobby feels bad. But as long as you navigate directçy between menus instead of going back to the lobby every time, there are no noticeable loading issues.
Definitly agree that the tutorial takes too long... It leaves a bad first impression. Fortunately, you only have to do it once even when rerolling, so it's not really that big of a issue overall. (Unless you never touch the rest of the game because you had a bad experience with the tutorial.)
Definitely agree that the permanent notifications telling to spend are annoying. And the monetization is VERY in your face even by gacha standards.
As for the paid BP giving 50 limited tickets and stuff like that... I'm not sure that's an entirely bad thing. I mean, there is nothing stoping anyone from staright up buying 50 pulls on gacha games most of the time. The fact that it's cheaper to do so here is not necessarily a negative. Presentation aside, the only BIG problem I have with this game's monetization when compared to other gachas is that some QoL featires are locked behind a paywall.
That aside, as long as you are not aiming for a high rank in competitive modes, (which actually offer pretty meager rewards, compared to regular progression...) you can definitely play the game as f2p.
Heck, you will likely get more characters and weapons compared to most gacha games, since they give away a lot of free currency (at least so far) and let you select up to 4 targets with increased odds on the standard banner. Plus, at least so far, it looks like they are adding more characters and weapons to the standard banner over time, making it one of the most f2p frindly gachas I've playing in regards to collecting characters, weapons, and dupes.
(It's also worth noting that, when a new SSR character comes out, they make several copies of their signature weapon obtainable for free from limited time events, so you don't need to pull for thsoe either. And the ones you don't get from the events, you can craft with f2p resources over time. Only the MC SSR weapons are gacha exclusive. And even then, they give 2 copies of one of his strongest SSRs just by progressing through the game)
    So... Yeah.
That aside, near the end of the video you mentioned being forced to play as the main character on every stage, but.... That's not entirely true either.
Once you get past the initial tutorials, the game has 2 types of combat systems:
    1) You only play as the main character, but you are able to costumize his weapons and skills. The other hunters are basically just support skills.
    2) You only play as the hunters. Their skills are fixed, but you can freely switch between them in battle.
This feels like a pretty weird decision for a gacha game, and I'm sure each person will prefer different modes, but... At least it adds some variety. Kind of weird you didn't mention the hunter battles at all. Did you stop playing before unlocking them?
Anyway, imo, as far as gacha games go, this is probably one of the best I've played recently. Solid 6.5 or 7 out of 10.

Honestly, thanks for this summarization. I am glad you pointed out inconsistencies i had in the video as I saw so many mistakes just from the intro and it made me want to puke basically. Afterall i am pleased that I was wrong about it, maybe I will give it another shot, Thank you once again!

      @@lorgorr Thanks!
And yeah, I can see the first impressions might lead one to drop the game pretty early, with the super handholding tutorial, how upfront they are with the monetization, and the limited options you have in combat at the start.
But I do think that, once you unlock the hunter stages and more skills / cooler weapons for the Mc, the combat feels really good when playing with a controler on PC.
Especially once you start unlocking the some of the harder stages. I think the auto-combat is a nice QoL feature when you are overleveled and just want to get the grind over with, but... As you start unlocking some of the more advanced story and boss stages, you will really need to learn the game's mechanics and play manually (or at least on semi-autto) to progress.
I'm not sure if I'll stick with it for the long run, since Wuwa comes out in a week and SLA can get pretty grindy. But at least so far I'm enjoying my time with it.

    • @lorgorr
      @lorgorr  4 місяці тому +1

I imagine it must be hell playing this on mobile, but hey gacha games are all mostly focused around that even though it is kinda shifting into more favor for pc players.
For me auto combat is still pretty meh feature, but for grinding the same stages over and over again it is helpful that is true.
WuWa is on my radar aswell, excited to try that out. But hey once you finish up one game atleast you can hop on to another and just do the thing and have fun either way.

Tbf that is better than expected, but I'd like to see how it is after getting through majority of the content. As it is mostly with fresh live service games, beginnings are decent, but then the chore happens. If the chore is fun, then it might be time to reconsider it and give it another try.
