[NEW VIDEO] Is Huel Daily Greens Worth It ? ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/wzJ1UDlW0oo/v-deo.html
Thanks, Nutritionist, for not commenting at all on the nutrition of the thing and focusing entirely on opinion and social aspects of liquid meals super helpful great job.
lmao, and i dont think anyone has ever considering drinking huel when eating socially
lmao that's what i'm saying. Mic the Vegan has a video on the nutrition of it for anyone seeing this
Nice, now I know I can skip this video
Came here to say this
best comment haha.
As a Nutritionist please stick to your expertise. When answering is it good for you or what are the downsides please don't go into "morality" of it simply talk from the nutriments standpoint. It would be much more useful as a video.
Would you say it’s healthy? I’m curious if and how they manage to avoid all the bad stuff found in ready meals.
@@TheBookOfEliSha It is. There have been peer-reviewed scientific studies that have proven that it is possible to not only live solely with Huel, but function adequately.
Yeah, the philosophical bit is keeping me from coming back for nutrition advice
Right, i laughed at that part. Completely tried to bring it down without any arguments. Could have saved time on this stupid video if fkin UA-cam didn’t hide dislikes…
@@TheBookOfEliSha any”nutritionist” who even watches a Huel video is very bad at their job and is in the wrong career
I'm using huel daily (1 or 2 meals) because I have issues with binge eating. It's helped me resist the urge to go and buy a load of junk food when i know i have something that will make me feel satisfied already in the cupboard. You get used to the taste and I now find dessert foods extremely sweet since I've acclimatised. It also helps with my IBS symptoms and keeps my digestive system calm.
🙋🏻♀️ Hey, thanks for sharing how Huel has helped you. All the best 💚
@Cups It'll definitely be more nutritionally balanced than junk food. All the best💚
Interesting. I'm also a fan of snacking and love sugar. Just like you, I've turned to Huel (1.5 meals) and it so far seems to be reducing the craving. However, from the beginning I found Huel (Black Edition, Cinnamon and Chocolate flavors) to taste fairly sweet, and enjoyed the taste. Other dessert foods taste...about the same in terms of sweetness.
My cure to junk food is don't put any in the cupboards to begin with. 🤣 Im single though so that helps.
replacing 2 meals with Huel may result in too much protein per day, increasing your risk of developing kidney stones
I actually agree with his quote. I see eating as more of a chore rather than some sort of pleasure. It's nice having a tasty meal once in a while, but I'm more concerned about the contents of what I'm eating rather than it's texture or flavour.
Tell me you cant cook without telling that... 😂
Honestly.. I never hungry. But I'm way better at drinking. So this honestly could be called a life saver in the long run
As an autistic person with arfid and severe emetophobia, I can honestly say that huel has saved my life :)
Hey 🙋🏻♀️ Thanks for sharing. It's really interesting to hear how Huel can be helpful in other ways. Thanks for watching! 😊👍🏻
I was exactly considering Huel for ARFID and bad sensory issues. I was sitting and eating my vegan gluten free bolognese last night, and I was constantly in discomfort from not just being not hungry, but also the feel and taste of the food, because I had to make it all from scratch and it just didn't taste good.
Had 2-3 Huels a day for nearly 3 years and the benefits are fantastic.
Hey 🙋🏻♀️ Thanks for sharing!
@MorTobXD 6 pounds a day, equivalent to a posh sandwich!
@MorTobXDdo the math. No
So basically zero info on the nutrition of Huel and you focus on the mental/social side? Yeah, steer clear of this “nutritionist” guys.
I have been using Huel Black Edition for the last 15 months. I am a vegetarian, and I wanted to start lifting to build some muscle. Huel Black Edition has been part of my daily diet to help me add 22 lbs of lean muscle. It has helped me efficiently add protein and other macros to my diet.

@@MrTehRave yeah lol i noticed.
Thank Huel Robot. Definitely believe this totally natural and not pre-written comment that you definitely wrote just in the moment.
22lbs of muscle? I’m not certain that is biologically possible in 15 months.
I have been using Huel Black to improve my eating habits and ensure I eat, as I struggle to find high protein options unless at home. Also, the shake-and-go element makes consuming huel ideal when you are just too busy to prep meals. For me, it's a no-brainer!
Hey 🙋🏻♀️ 💯 It's a good option if you're on the go. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Yeah but I’m sure it contained toxic chemicals

I'm quite a social recluse, so the downsides in the video don't seem to bother me very much.
ive been drinking huel as a replacement for my regular oatmeal breakfast for about 2-3 months now.
i like that i have options when it comes to taste and that its easy to prepare if i wake up later than i should.
personally i would never replace ALL my meals with huel, even the founder writes that they use if for breakfast and lunch but eat a regular warm meal for dinner so i dont think its a good solution for everything.
thanks for confirming that it can be good if used in moderation though :) started to get a bit skeptical and wanted some reassurance that i wasnt breaking my body :P
🙋🏻♀️ Hey, thanks for watching! Happy to hear you found the video helpful 😀
I’m considering huel because I’m trying to increase the amount of protein I eat per day. Rather than replacing my meal, I need to add onto it. I would love to try it.
Thanks for watching! Hope you found the video useful 😊
I have an eating disorder and struggle to eat normal foods sometimes i have 7 bottles in the fridge its been a life saver literally for me.
I’ve been using Huel to replace chips and sandwiches at work. And the Huel greens to supplement my breakfast.
This needs to be introduced to all of the ADHD world
That’s why I’m considering it! Just so expensive
exactly why i’m getting it lol
@Jao Bai Dun I was getting the hot & savoury range I didn’t realise it costs so so so much more.
why?
@@TheBookOfEliShauel Essential can get down to 1.49£ a meal 5 meals a day. Still not the cheapest option but it's cheaper than eating fast food.
The down sides of huel is only found in the short comings of the person consuming it? Sounds like it has no down sides then?
You are amazing. Thank you!!!
In what sense exactly are they amazing? It was a shit analysis without any arguments
I have been using Huel as a breakfast, because I sometimes didn't eat breakfast at all or I ate a plain toast with only little bit of meat and cheese on top of it. But for dinner I alway eat real food and that has worked for me. I know myself and I'd rather get in me something nutricious in the morning than my usual unhealthy stuff.
Huel has its place, but I agree that the food and things that are connected to it should be enjoyed and cherised.
Thanks for the informative video it has helped me alot.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with Huel. Happy to hear you found it helpful ☺️👍🏻
Time to cook?
Wake up everyday at 5am and arrive from work at 7pm every weekday and work at least another 12 hours on the weekend.
How I would love to have the luxury of Time for cooking for myself.
I work on a construction site and since Huel is a decent meal in liquid form I can take it up to work with me and drink as I work , this has actually benefitted my work as I don't feel hungry after lunch and don't rely on fatty fast food or Greggs
I think it would be cool if more people speaking on liquid food replacements would discuss the positives for disabled people, those with ARFID and those recovering from operations especially dental ones.
products like this seem like they could be quite life changing in that regard
Huel is amazing! I struggle to eat the correct amount of macro nutrients and huel has helped me a lot! The liquid one for bfast is fantastic! Indo have one or two regular meals a day. I have huel in the morning and as a post workout meal
i use hol food, love it
I just ordered it, and it’s being delivered today. I bought it because I struggle with preparing, cooking, and eating healthy. I live on junk food, and am 70 pounds overweight. I’m glad to hear that it will keep me fuller for longer. I can’t imagine only eating Huel, because it’s not real food, but I’m hoping it’ll allow me to be healthier.
I loved your bottom line statement. I just started with Soylent (similar to Huel for uninitiated) and I only substituted my lunch. Why because I love cereals, omelettes or sausages in my breakfast, and dinner time is a family togetherness time at my home, no exception and everybody follows it happily. Huel at dinner table is the oddest thing you can bring into the table.
You son of a b*tch 🤣 i fell for your profile pic
3 years on Huel black for breakfast and occasional dinner / lunch ~5-7 times per week. Has helped me really regulate my weight and body fat because the body gets a good amount of protein every day. The breakfast is quite filling and it can keep me satisfied for up to 6 hours. Also no issues with stocking up bananas / yoghurt - which was my breakfast before (oats, yoghurt, banana). When I have it in house I still change my Huel breakfast sometimes for yoghurt with berries or sourdough sandwich with fried eggs. If you don’t mind the taste (it’s quite polarizing) I think Huel is a great option 👍🏽
Ive been using huel for a month ! Replacing 2 meals a day. And yes it makes you stop reaching for those snacks and fattening food. Lasts for about 5 hours, 2nd one in afternoon with a banana, then a proper meal in the evening 😋 ill do it for a couple of months to see if i see a difference in my weight.
How did you get on?

Huel has been a lifesaver for dysphagia
Five meals a day? Check. Count calories? Check. Plenty of water? Check. Count nutrients? Check.
This is what most nutritionists tell you you should do, and Huel takes care of it easily.
I love my food, but I find the kind of food you have to eat if you’re serious about nutrition (plain grilled chicken breast with rice, mmmmm!) really boring anyway, so it’s not some huge sacrifice to me.
I like to use Huel during the week as fuel to just get the job done and then eat normal food at the weekend when I have more time.
Lmao who told you that you need to have plain grilled chicken breast and rice to be serious about nutrition
@@thenewthrowawaylol4343 if you really think it’s that hilarious, you need to get out more
Is huel good for lunches strictly at work ? I don't always like having just a turkey sandwich made at home and I'm trying to bulk as a skinny guy at 160 lbs. I usually cook dinner every night (generally chicken breast, veggies, and carb) and for breakfast at work I eat bagels, fruits, nuts, and on the weekends I cook breakfast so I definitely eat real food regularly.
I have done a 100% huel diet for 6 months in the past - it's absolutely phenomenal in terms of health impact. I clearly felt a difference in all areas of my life - better cognition, sleep and energy. I still use it, but not as a complete replacement. It's an incredibely cheap multivitamin and drinking some staves off hunger. The problem with consuming it as the only food source is that it's incredibely hard to consume 5 drinks a day - just in the volume of water and frequency. That's drinking 5, 500ml water every single day. It's also hard to say no to snacks as not to be hungry - you have to drink one drink every 3 hours (15 hours awake and ready to eat / 5 drinks). Considering it takes some time to drink and make it as well - pretty much you have to have it available at all times. However, since it's so heavy in vitamins - it is possible to drink only 3-4 a day and lose a lot weight, for that it is great. My take on it is that it's a fantastic product that everyone but the strictest dieters should use at least to some capacity - especially the powder form, which is the purest in terms of nutrion. It's just a great way to make sure all your necessary vitamins are available and you stay hydrated as well.
9.5/10 (I wish it was tastier).
5 drinks a day would be 2,500 ml.
@@NightingaleVictor Yes, that's what I mean, 5 times 500 ml :)
@@olavisau gotcha!
Your recommendation against a mostly Huel diet is unreasonable. Huel is for people who don't have the time or means to cook or who personally dislike cooking, but still need to get good nutrition. You can eat an 80-90% Huel diet without missing out on the occasional social meal or restaurant experience. Most cooking is done merely for subsistence, and that is what Huel aims to replace.
Also, "deskilling" people isn't an issue. Cooking isn't rocket science, it's just boring most of the time.
I kinda wanna try it for lunches when I'm busy at work to help me avoid fastfood
It's a good alternative to fast food, especially when time is not on your side. Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
This video doesn't actually discuss the nutrition of huel
It’s called huel because that’s the sound people make before they hurl.
I am curious as to which is the best tasting flavour. I am thinking about getting chocolate and coffee caramel.
why doesn't the huel website disclose the serving size or the weight of the bags they are selling?
Very informative, great content. I’ll pick some up ✅
Happy to hear you found the video informative 😊 Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
I don't think even the founder of huel expects people to replace ALL their meals
Nobody wants to hear my opinion because it probably won't apply to anyone else - but here's my story anyway.. and how it relates to seeing food as a fuel, rather than a constant 'joy' that needs to be entertained 3 times a day.
So......
...many years ago, I suffered from a really severe eating disorde. I was in my late teens at the time it all began.
It was veeery lonely and unfathomable to me because it wasn't psychological or related to my self-esteem or body image. I am just extremely sensitive to sugar.
It's highly addctive to me and makes me binge uncontrollably. It was hell to stop.
Eventually, after nearly 10 years, I found the keto diet. I never recommend diets to people, because we are all different and may have genetics or a different intestinal microbiome that influnce what the body prefers or requires or tolerated better.
But wthin a week, my cravings and binges curbed, my mental health was better, clearer, sharper, calmer. Improved skin, weight loss and calm.
And finally... better sleep. So, more energy. It was a total game changer.
An unexpected and incredible change, was that it reset my taste profile (like a digital detox; however, instead, removing sugar and carbs - it reset my tolerance to hyper pleasurable tastes)
Because 'pleasure' or dopamine was so intrinsically wrapped up with highly processed and sweet foods I did eventually come to enjoy that way of eating over time as my idea of what tastey regular food is supposed to be - also came to adore vegetables tht had any form of sweetness, like bell peppers or some cheeses like rocotta. Cutting out everything sugary, eventally allowed me to taste the subtle differences in sweetness. So, to me, they began to taste like deserts!
I also cut out artificial sweetners in the beginning to aid my taste palate reset more quickly.
As this is one of the few sweet things I eat, its a real treat for me to have one of these. Not only do I find them realy tasty, but as a meal it just about fits into my keto diet as well (max 1 per day - but I usually only have 1 a week after the gym). I gotta say, I actually really like them. so once in a while, I think they're great. And if they do, as claimed, contain all the vitamins and minerals you need (and I have to say, I do feel pretty good a few hours after I eat one too - especially exercise).
There isn't a massive amount of protein in one for growing muscle on a heavy workout routine, but its easily a good chunk that can be supplemented with a proper protein heavy meal.
So, thats my story.. they're a treat and I enjoy them!
Hey 👋 Thanks for sharing your story! Huel can definitely be incorporated into a healthy balanced diet. All the best 🙂
I’ve been having Huel for breakfast for six years now. Started as I started so early on a long commute it gave me five minutes more in bed then could use my commute to drink. It’s also the one thing I do that’s healthy every day so in comparison to skipping breakfast or not eating anything good for me it’s got to be better for me in the long run.
The flavours can change depending on the edition. Black edition mixes and has the best darker chocolate, the basic edition tastes like it ought to be bad for you,
2 scoops = 400 kcal
I drink half a bottle of HUEL after a running tempo session and drink the remainder a day later after a recovery run and I consume an adequate meal two hours later. That's a bottle a week, so I only use it as a supplement not what most people are constantly going on about it as a meal replacement option
I use this as lunch at work (don’t really get time to stop and eat…) and the black huel has 10g more of protein
It's a good option if you're on the go 👌 Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
if your life is so busy not to eat well then change your life not your meals.
My biggest concern is that flax and sunflower seeds are extremely high in PUFA If that’s where all the fat is coming from, that is not good for mitochondrial energy production. PUFA is bad.
Unfortunately I’ve tried every flavour of the meals and can’t stomach any unfortunately
Hey 🙋🏻♀️ Huel has had mixed reviews flavour wise, some people say it tastes like uncooked oats?? Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
I've eaten Huel now for more than 3 years. Its amazing.
How many times a day do you consume it?
i have problems with eating food and i never get enough nutrients, i just placed an order for the liquid food shake stuff. i really hope this will help me to get more healthy
And?
Yeah. That’s what everyone does that goes out to eat with their friends-busts out their Soylent or Huel. Are you kidding?
It's a boring meal but it's great if you don't have time to prep for that day, good breakfast too if you just want to wash some nutrients into you.
💯 It can be a quick and convenient way of getting the nutrients you need if time is not on your side. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
I’m not a nutritionist, honestly, im a truck driver. But in my opinion it’s moderate in protein. I say that bc most will recommend .8 grams - 1.2 grams of protein per pound of body weight to build and maintain muscle. 4 servings of huel would only give 120 grams of protein. Most adult males weigh more than 120lbs , so huel would just scrape the bottom end of efficient protein intake for most adult males. Great video!
0.8-1.2 grams of protein is per kilo, not pound. Hth.
what if I am having problems with my apatite? I'm not eating enough, and I thought huel would be a good aid in getting more of what I needed nutritionally.
Hey 👋 Huel can be a useful tool to supplement your diet, but it shouldn't be relied on as the sole source of nutrition. While Huel provides a good balance of macronutrients and micronutrients, it's always best to obtain nutrients from a variety of whole foods. You can consider incorporating Huel as a snack or a meal replacement when you're on the go, but it's important to also include a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats in your diet.
It's also important to note that everyone's nutritional needs are different, so it's best to work with a qualified nutritionist or dietitian to develop a personalized nutrition plan that meets your individual needs and goals. All the best!
Ty
So, actually your objection to a 100% Huel diet is not on nutritional grounds, but on cultural ones. I was hoping to find information on whether eating only Huel is going to lead to nutritional or health problems. You don't seem very sure about that. I can see that a powdered food might cause issues because the nutrients are too readily available. I also wonder whether there is a negative effect on the gut microbiome? Would the lack of non digestible components cause an issue? Would a "dirt" free food source lead to more allergies?
Huel works well for me as a quick breakfast
🙋🏻♀️Hey, Huel can definitely be a good breakfast option when time is not on your side. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻

As an inquirer of the product, this video does a great job breaking down what it is and how it should be used. Very well done! 👍
There is another major issue and people can Google and do this research themselves but here is the thing we humans actually have to chew and work out our jaw and tongue and neck muscles... It is actually very very critical humans chew and eat working out our jaws. Just drinking meals will do harm in the long run.
You just stated the obvious, people ask nutritionists about food to find out what they can’t read on the packet.
Subbed because of the Dave Gorman references, nothing like humour to break up a topic 😊
Gorman? Was that the lieutenant in Aliens? The guy who nearly had his entire team destroyed by xenomorphs?
If your family/friends are having lunch, you don't sit there sadly sucking on a shake. You put it in the fridge and join them for a meal. You have a very lopsided view of how this program works.
Ive noticed all the ultra positive commments about Huel on here seem to be coming from dummy accounts (look at the usernames)
I was expecting to see some kind of in-depth analysis of the nutritional qualities of Huel. What I got was a complete waste of my time.
I used to have huel for breakfast and it was great except all those fibers gave me diarrhea alot. Now I use Metta which is basically the same as huel only with less fiber and my stomach feels alot better
I think Huel would be good for people that has no time to eat. People like surgeons and nurses. They have long shifts. The cafeteria is not open 24/7 at the hospital. Anything can happen at a moment's notice. Maybe a lunch was planned, but someone is coding blue and someone needs to get to that patient. Just saying. It's a lot better than the stuff in the vending machines. It's not meant to replace all their meals, but it would work as a quick meal if and when their meal time is cut short.
HUEL is super fam ngl
For poorly people, who are given Ensure as a supplement, I assure you that drinking Huel was much better for me, it also helped me put on weight when I really needed to by drinking it on top of other foods. I hope you never hear the words Ensure when speaking to a medic anyway.
Can't wait to drink my favorite Breaking Bad character
500calories per serving? my 100g of huel salted caramel flavour is 400 calories.
🙋🏻♀️Hey, thanks for your comment. They say a serving is 2 scoops of powder, which is around 100g or so, which is between 400-500kcal depending on how big your 2 scoops are. Each bottle of Huel Ready to drink contains 400kcal. Hope this helps 😊
He's right 100g of powder serving is 400 kcal. Be specific. It even says on the ready to drink bottles 400Kcal.
I have huel black and each 50g scoop is 200 calories, and one serving is 2 scoops so that’s 400 cals. It’s not 400-500 calories. It’s 400 calories for 2 level scoops which is one serving
So no fiber just powder mush 😂 it’s amazing how good branding and marketing can con so many people!
Does having 46g of carbs dumbed into the gut in a micro-spray powder made into an emulsion or suspension not cause a massive insulin spike?
Fwiw I asked Huel about the Glycemic Index rating of their products- which relates to insulin response-, they have that for most products. The GI rating didn't seem especially High but I haven't done any blood sugar tests yet to verify my response
That's what I was wondering ... that's a ton of carbs
Get three eggs and fry em up with veggies. Get microwave meals. Have some dignity instead of eating slop
get rid of the Maltodextrin then ill buy it
So is it bad or is it good for you heath wise???? Didn’t even answer the question.
I clicked to hear a dietitian's positive and negatives about Huel's affects on the body. None of the negatives had anything to do with nutrition. Instead they were comments on socializing and your views on what feels normal for consumption. Valid opinions, but not what I was looking for..
I’m just desperate to lose 40 pounds
Maybe there's more to life the fuel food but when ur homeless and is cheaper then fastfood I'll take it.
Rubbish review - you don’t talk about what the nutritional content of the product is, which, you know, is the reason I’m here.
All the negative reasons you list for not using huel has nothing to do with nutrition and has to do with social issues.. Most people on huel still know how to go to dinner with friends
