IDK who on team crowbar decided "xen needed a horrendous elevator climb segment with such shit balancing that the player has to be handed infinite ammo and it also needed so much debris flying around the final boss arena that it becomes unnecessarily difficult to even tell what kills you half the time" but they were an ass for that one. Not that either one is good, but I'll take "run to the spot and whack the bad guy 3 times in a row" in King's Field IV over that.
At the same time I am both disappointed by the boss fight, and digging the flow of it. How the music repeats itself and how we are stuck to repeat the same route to do a single strike. It could have been better for sure, but it also makes sense the way it is.
miyazaki wasnt working at fromsoft when the kings field series was made. He started in 2004. Although, the series may be a reason why he chose that particular company. I am not sure about that but im sure theres an interview out there somewhere that details it.

Reminds me of the Battle with Shub-Niggurath at the end of the original Quake, such a painstaking slog back to the right position to strike the boss, but at least here you didn't have to time a teleport just right. I hope one day From Software decides to Remaster or simply Re-release these games!

Pretty dissapointing boss fight. I imagined something much more. But hey I won't forget about this game. I loved every second of it. The OST in particular stuck with me and I'm still thinking about it to this day. This series is really underrated, Shame that People only know Fromsoftware for Dark Souls and Bloodborne nowadays..
For playing, or for recording? For playing, it was just a matter of emulating the US version on a strong enough computer on normal settings. For recording at 60 FPS, I just used OBS.
I did, but I think it's better used as an early-game source of 50000 gold. Effectively infinite healing makes the game a lot more pleasant until you get the exp booster. And you can buy back the bracelet at the end once you clear out the treasury. From my experiments, having more casts of now weaker spells that still take an eternity to level up wasn't worth the trade-off.
OK guys, need an opinion: I heard the various let's say, "ultimate" weapons you acquire near the end of the KF games, that are, in theory, necessary to defeat the final bosses (namely the Moonlight Sword and the Darkslayer), are in reality not required, and you can use whatever you want. Do you think this was an oversight by the devs, or something else?
I don't mind the final area of this game purely because the visual direction is so striking and Dark Reality is an entrancing piece of music.
You would like the final area of Half Life 2 Black Mesa too...
@@graqu5218 It does look good but I do not enjoy that at all, they somehow made Interloper and the final boss even worse.

Man, the turning is painfully slow. You’d think they’d have sped up the movement a little by the fourth installment lol
Funny thing is it’s slower in this game than the first Three

true but better being known as a good studio instead of having a reputation like EA or epic games
all FS games have this weak not expected poetic final boss, the heart of shadow tower, this fella, Gwin, etc.

In ancient city, of You don't use the moonlight sword for the las hit with the final BOSS you get the Bad ending since You become the new dark one.
The moonlight sword is necessary because it seals the darkness.
