I wish they made a new short where they finally rebond at the end . Like this time like in the last episode where Pepe realized that Penelope is not a skunk he felt heartbroken to let Her go but then he went to rescue her when he admits his true feelings about her after she was chased by an angry dog who still wants to devour her. Later he shows up and stenched him away which later she accepted him as her boyfriend no matter what.
Honestly, that would be an amazing short and I would pay good money to see it.

@@disneyknightspadilla1406 sadly if you followed the news to space jam a new legacy, it seems warner bros is literally going to try to wipe out pepe le pew from existence as he's no longer going to be featured any medium moving forward so if you have any copies of his cartoons, then hold onto them. They'll be worth a lot someday.
Although you could always do a fanfiction of it yourself or hire someone to do it. Other than that I doubt it's going to happen. Even if you do try to petition warner bros to do it they'll just either ignore you or label you and everyone wanting this to be toxic.

@@karentorresalfaro3371 It's because as Pepe said, he overstoke the furnace. The love perfume is so powerful it completely put Penelope in a love trance. Even Pepe can't handle too much kissy kissy, smoochy smooch, and love dovey. Out of control love.
Really Scent is, in my opinion, the best Pepe cartoon because it took so many of the tropes associated with his shorts and tossed them aside: Penelope actually likes Pepe back and is only put off by his smell, and actually spends the episode trying to make it WORK. Pepe, in the meantime, is completely-unaware of the fact that people are put off by his smell, and the instant he realizes that HE'S the reason people run away, he gets himself DE-SCENTED.

Even Chuck Jones's, Pepe's creator, daughter fought for him. He was meant to poke fun at screen writer Tedd Pierce's "ladies man" status and his, then, lack of success with getting a date. It wasn't uncommon for pot-shots to be taken at one another in studios and Pepe le Pew is one example.

Not to mention, I heard it's pretty accurate to how skunks are, I heard. Their smells repel each other, so if you gave them consciousness, this is how they'd sound :P

I love how Space Jam 2 cancels Pepe Le Pew for harassing Penelope, but seem to have missed the part where she is just as bad as Pepe. It’s like the people complaining about old school cartoons like Popeye for making the girl the damsel in distress, but missed the part where the damsels saved their heroes that normally save them (like the time Olive Oyl ate spinach and beat up a Swedish built woman for kidnapping Popeye).
Related: a lot of people don’t seem to realize that while the “Damsels” are screaming for help they’re kicking and fighting off their attacker the whole time. Calling for backup in a fight is not the same thing as being “passive” and completely helpless.
(Also, see the Fleischer-animated ad “In My Merry Oldsmobile” where a big chunk of the joke is that the “damsel” needs no help fending off a predator.)

Like Pepe coming on too strong, but when Penelope comes back at Pepe just as hard, if not harder, he flees instead. Or when either of them stinks. Or when Penelope gets filthy or unkempt.

Idk what it’s called but it involves a character constantly doing something in order to reach a goal (Ex: The Edds in Ed Edd n Eddy scamming people for their quarters to get jawbreakers.). However something goes completely awry and causes them to fail, ultimately ending in them being stuck in whatever trap or setup they planned, Pepe Le Pew is no exception, as he wants the love of Penelope the cat, however, the second he gets it, she’s acts exactly like him, in which scares him, so essentially the role is reversed, thus recreating that cycle I just explained

Funny how I've seen the news too late about Pepe's cancel, and yet I'm questioning if those who cancelled him knew actually the plot. Penelope wanted to flee from Pepe because of his own smell, but Pepe was almost always oblivious about it (doesn't help that Penelope almost never talks). And when Pepe happens to be clean somehow, Penelope happens to smell bad and/or unladylike in return.
They actually would love each other, but fate and self protection made them a dysfunctional couple. Even so, it's not fault of neither Pepe nor Penelope.
Yeah but let's be honest. Pepe doesn't take no for an answer. Do not misunderstand, Pepe is actually my favorite LT character and in my opinion it's hypocritical of the company to cancel him but keep Bugs, I dress up like a whipped slave, bunny but I digress; he is a sexual assaulter by definition. Even if we play devil's advocate and say 'yeah Penelope didn't want him only because he stunk' it still doesn't change the fact that she clearly rejected him and he kept persuing her. And even if we count Penelope as just as bad as PePe, she is not the only animal that he hunted down that didn't want him and I doubt it was because of his smell. There was that little dog that told him she was a dog and he deceived her, that big bob cat thing, that male cat (which in the episode PePe had a wife and kids), and poor Sylvester lol. Granted, for the most parts he thought they were skunks but even if they were when they rejected him he should've accepted it. If Pepe were human he'd be on the registry for sure.

So everytime I see something that doesn't seem to make sense, I find myself asking "What did I miss THIS time??" It's kinda ridiculous talking to myself to sort out what's happening, but that just adds more to the comedy
But yeah, this scene is actually straightforward: feelings of desire & affection have now become MUTUAL. So although it's obvious Pepé still doesn't realize Penelope is a cat, she full well knows he is a skunk, but wants him anyway
