I love how professional these two are! Yes, they're enemies, but that's only on the clock. After hours, they're good friends. They'll have breakfast together, even cover each other's shift at work, when the other isn't well. I respect that they don't let their job affect their friendship! Two friends with jobs that make them mortal enemies until the shift is over. Anybody any similar jobs? The one I think of is prosecutors and defense lawyers. Any other examples?
Funny how I was just watching Suits (A Law series) and Louis reffered to his relationship with Harvey as Ralph and Sam cartoon so I came here to check it.
Sam: So how's the wife and kids. Ralph: We're fine. Winter break is almost over and the kids are heading back to school. How's your family? Sam: We're good. The kids have show and tell next week. Then, we have take your kids to work day. Ralph: Yeah, about that, my son's been bugging me to take him to work. Sam: It's the same thing with my daughter, Hallie.

I went back a couple days later. The girl at the counter didn't get the joke, just liked the costume and gave me the free whatever it was. So I sat inside with a Coke and waited... Sure enough, some uppity know-it-all that couldn't grasp the humor of irony (and acted like I was stupid for wearing leather over a cow costume) FINALLY came over and said... "You're supposed to be a cow, right?" (Me) Yes. I'm a cow (Uppity know it all) " That's dumb! Don't you know leather is made from cows!" props to the new animators for giving sam and ralph some new shorts, they're underrated
Absolute class - Could watch those two all day long 😁
I love the running gag that the two of them are like best friends, despite their respective jobs being in opposition to each other. 🤣
And of course never questions the purpose of the job. If one of them quits, it either peaceful or all the sheep are dead.
Enemy's in there work. But outside there work time they respect each other.
A lot of people could learn from this.
I love that they opened with "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night" as the background music.

You cannot tell me that he wasn't the forerunner of Wile E. Coyote, my ultimate cartoon hero.
Ralph showed up in the mid 50ies and Wile E.s first short is from 1949. But who knows, maybe Ralph was on the drawing board earlier. 🤔🤔🤔
I always assumed they were cousins or something.
I was surprised that they made Ralph’s fur grey instead of brown. I guess this was done to better differentiate him from Wile E Coyote.
