Wouldn't matter people will still go all the way to the end and then stop because they didn't take advantage of the bus lengths of space they could've used to merge.
You're suppose to merge after the solid white line turns into a dotted line. You had about 4 spaces to merge with a dotted line and you passed 4 cars when the merge lane is combined with the traffic lane. That is similar to passing on the shoulder.
Very dangerous merge there dude. You could've crossed the grid and made a safer merge(despite that being illegal), and you even had plenty of safe and legal opportunities to merge.
i dont undestand the some are saying that when you see a yield sign while merging ...you need to give right of way to the the cars already on highway and i heard some failing the driving then because they didnt accelerate or merge above a specified speed .....so what is true..if we merge at high speed and accelerate wont it collide with a car coming from left...or should we slow down and safely merge at slow speed??confused
So technically the driver was supposed to merge at 0:32? (today I'm watching videos on how to merge correctly because I'm a new driver, and apparently this video was a bad example of how to merge).
No. You have to YIELD to the cars already on the freeway. People on the freeway don't have to make room for you. Make sure you are up to freeway speed before entering the freeway, and pick your spot early, but have a Plan B. Your spot might disappear.
Yeah just make sure no one is coming up too fast behind you. In the video, traffic is pretty slow but it all happens much faster. After doing it a few times you'll be fine!
This video is a perfect example of why there are so many bad drivers on the road. This driver passed a number of vehicles illegally on the right after the dashed line ended. This driver had plenty of room to merge legally and safely but instead chose to merge aggressively and illegally. On ramps may not be used as passing lanes. The traffic on the highway has the right of way. The traffic merging has to give way.
Actually, it's very short. It's not legal to cross the gore point (cross painted area) so the area to cross the lane markers was what? 3 or 4 stripes of lane paint?
I wish everyone merged like this. Everyday someone stops in the middle of the ramp to merge when they're supposed to follow the right line all the way through
He literally went over the white line at the end. That's not how you merge. He had multiple opportunities to merge BEFORE getting to the end of the ramp.
EXACTLY, why the F$#% would you wanna enter so damn early like that by STOPPING no less when you can pass 20 cars lol There is always people that leave huge ass gaps between cars so there is ALWAYS roommto sneak in!
You waited too long. Passing up several opportunities and having to leave the roadway should have been an indicator - instead, you insisted on cutting some one off just to gain a few car lengths, then everyone brakes and worsens traffic, because of people like you.
Perfect!! I hate how i have to go around people who stop on the entrance ramp to get into traffic when they have sooo much room in front of them. I really dont get what that Hyundai was doing.... does he like sitting in traffic forever?
Poster of the video, do you realize that you have to YIELD to the traffic already on the freeway? Do you realize that no one on the freeway is under any obligation to alter course or speed to accommodate you?
THIS is how long ALL merge lanes NEED to be or else its sometimes impossible to merge
THANK you.

Every time i think about highways this is what i see.
Last moment to merge is 0:35. Line is already disappear at that time. Keep moving 10 more seconds to pass other cars that already in the lane.

That is NOT how you merge. Busy or not. It's never supposed to be 2 cars in one lane.
Very dangerous merge there dude. You could've crossed the grid and made a safer merge(despite that being illegal), and you even had plenty of safe and legal opportunities to merge.
Nah lol. You said it, crossing the gore area is illegal. Zipper merge is the way to go. Use the whole lane until it ends.
Lmao crossing the grid? Why would you risk a fine. Busy traffic is not an excuse for crossing the grid. That's not an emergency.
I don't know how this result from 13 years ago got to the top of the list on UA-cam.
That is one of the longest merging lanes I have ever seen.

props!

I hate merging because I have to do it everyday

That's correct.
nope. there might only be enough space for one car...
A bit earlier would be safer! Good luck with better traffic in the future :)
That’s how your suppose to merge, good show others.
I wish everyone merged like this. Everyday someone stops in the middle of the ramp to merge when they're supposed to follow the right line all the way through
Alvaro Morais exactly!!
He literally went over the white line at the end. That's not how you merge. He had multiple opportunities to merge BEFORE getting to the end of the ramp.

Shut the fuck up. This is a zipper merge. You are supposed to go to the end of the merge lane. This is the right way to do it
There was no way to merge without cutting someone off
lol these comments tho.
All i'm wondering is who posts videos of themselves driving o-O
I'm from NYC/NJ, I merge like this all the time.
He handled that very well, he didn’t go excessively fast he out in his turn signal, zippered , this man is the model for how all drivers should be
Perfect!! I hate how i have to go around people who stop on the entrance ramp to get into traffic when they have sooo much room in front of them.
I really dont get what that Hyundai was doing.... does he like sitting in traffic forever?
that is the ONLY thing I like about drivers that drive so damn far away from the the car in front. it allows me to sneak in!

Trash driving at it worst.
